A reread, but I‘m being kinder to it the second time than I was my first read. I still think the weight Vivi puts on Rhys‘ betrothal is too much, but hey, gotta second chance romance it somewhere. I do need some hard and fast magic rules tho bc Vivi doing “big magic” like the candle and the summoning? I don‘t even know what this world would consider big magic. Gimme rules! Outlines! Something! Overall, fun, fast, and easy.

I finished after all, and it's a low pick. There's very little in the way of worldbuilding, so if you're not deeply invested in the vibes and romance there's not much left -- and these aren't really my vibes. The romance is pleasant, once the heroine stops acting like a 5 year old. I probably won't continue the series, but who knows?
It did finally get me #HalloweenAtoZReadathon bingos. 😁

I inhaled this light witchy romance. Truthfully, imo, the sexy parts weren‘t needed, it was fun enough without them. They weren‘t over the top sexy parts either. Kind of Stars Hollow ish with witchery
#falljamboreedoodles getting caught up on my doodle posts days 19-22 and starting my 4th book in as many days, I can‘t settle 🤷🏻♀️ Dracula and Irregular Society of Witches have just captivated me so much, nothing else is keeping my interest while my brain runs amok thinking about the next chapters
About 30% in and trying to decide whether to keep going. The main character and her friend are ridiculously vindictive, IMO. I don't enjoy enemies to lovers romance when it just seems petty.
I thought this was a slow start but once I got into the book it was very good! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

1) Soup, stew, chili…I love it all.
2) The tagged book is the first is a cute fall trilogy. The third was released today, The Wedding Witch.
Tagging everyone 🧡🖤🧡

“The night had gotten darker now, the sky more indigo than lavender, and the moon rose over the hills, bright and cold and white. The perfect night for witching.”

This was fun but I read these out of order (they can each stand alone) and what I loved most about this story was the mentions of the characters in The Wedding Witch, who are vastly superior to these 😂😂
Characters were a bit flat, I would have loved them be more fleshed out.
I thought this would be more fun. The beginning was that but the rest of the book not that much. Nevertheless this was light & entertaining.
The plot was a bit mess, there were so many things happening. Romance didn't feel believable or relatable.
#SeriesLove23
First things first. On the cover they‘re flying on a broom. That does not happen in the book at all, so don‘t get your hopes up. 😁
It was okay. A little boring once the couple got together. I did like the talking cat though. Maybe he‘ll get his own book?
Well, I meant to have this done by Halloween, but that didn‘t happen! I do love it though!

This was a cute enough witchy romance, but I found myself annoyed at the main characters, Vivienne and Reese, a lot of the time. I also felt there were far too many gratuitous sex scenes, and I‘m not someone who minds an occasional sex scene.
Had to do it now, so I‘m ready..Halloween chaos awaits! Hoping to clear off some TBR, Kindle reads, and bookshelf space (Christmas is coming!). I fell off with #Roll100 so I‘m looking forward to knocking out a chunk to catch up! Keeping it a little spooky ish this month to get ready for all the cozy Christmas reads! Looking forward to time off from work to dedicate to books 😝 #bookspin #doublespin #bookspinbingo
I listened to this one on my Libby app for an autumn buddy read. Fun little brain candy book. Great cozy witch story but far more . . . ahem, shall we say ‘shagadelic‘ than the cover art would suggest? Super fun book just beware if graphic sex is problematic for you - may not be suitable for everyone.
A fun reread for me. I loved the story, setting and characters.

This was SO much fun.
Packed with likeable characters, witty one-liners, steam, magic, and a talking cat!
A perfect Halloween read. It's spooky, kooky, and charming. I'm now craving toffee apples.

Thank you so much @MaleficentBookDragon for my #FFFS package! Chocolate pretzels are my fav! The witch is so cute, love the mini palmistry kit and I can‘t wait to use the beautiful hand knitted coffee cozy!

@Avanders and @Chrissyreadit thank you both for organizing the swap!
Wanted something seasonal, but quick and light. This hit the spot.
Apparently, I can enjoy contemporary romance if there‘s a bit of the supernatural/magic involved?
I thought the magical mishaps would be funnier than they were. Fell a little flat for me. 🧙♀️🧙♀️🧙♀️
I am not a huge romance fan. But I really enjoyed this book. Just enough magic…and humor to keep me interested. #SummerEndReadathon. Book 9
And so… my spooky season begins 🕸.
In the home stretch of this book (hence the spoil-free photo effect lol) and can already feel the book hangover coming on. It's been fun!
Braving the heat wave out back while baby naps... 38 degrees! Had to pour my afternoon coffee over ice 😅
Reeeaaaallly long night with the baby. Treating myself this morning 😌
*Full disclaimer: scoffed this in a few bites, gulped down the too hot tea, read 2 pages, and had to get back to rocking baby 😅
It's barely summer, and this is my second Halloween-set book in a row 😅 I mean it when I say I wish it was October all year round lol
I love this special edition from #FairyLoot with the wonderful #DesignOnCover and ombré sprayed edges ?

This was a little bit shallow for me. The premise was good, and the dialogue was amusing, but having alluded to events in the past and complex relationships, they were not explored. It seems the only reason Simon shows up is so the protagonist can stand up to him and then he leaves with no more input. No great depth to this one, I won't be trying another by Sterling.
4⭐ Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It had the typical sudden romance that doesn't make complete sense, like so many romances, but the characters were likeable and had great chemistry, and the story itself was quite fun. The magical mishap plotline was an enjoyable deviation from romance novel norms.
I liked it but it didn‘t blow my socks off. Didn‘t live up to the hype.
Booze, magic, & a broken heart don‘t mix when recently dumped Vivian & her cousin decide to cast a spell to give her ex horrible luck. It just wasn‘t supposed to work.
Lucky for Rhys, the hex didn‘t kick in until 7 years later when he comes back to town to fulfill familial obligations. That‘s when all hell breaks loose & they have to work together to fix it.
Finished 9/18/2022
Vivienne put a curse on her ex-boyfriend and he returns to town to recharge the magical lay lines. Because of her curse, everything goes haywire in town. That means they have to work together and ignore their chemistry. Can they do both?
This book was cute and had good humor. I didn‘t really like Vivienne as a character b/c she wasn‘t so smart; it got annoying. She didn‘t really get a character arc. However, I did like her with Rhys.
Finding this a really easy fun read. Cant belive i waited so long to get round to reading it!
