Ten Little Title Tunes: Towards a Musicology of the Mass Media | Philip Tagg, Robert Clarida

Dear Friends,
We‘ve loved hosting the #BigBuddyRead(s) and sharing our photos & musical tastes with each of you. It‘s been a wonderful way to bond & get a sneak peek into your lives. However we‘ve reached a point where these events are becoming too overwhelming in our overly scheduled days.
But don‘t fear…we still want to stay connected!!!

Beginning May 1 we‘re introducing a new laidback challenge #TitlesAndTunes ??

BarbaraBB On the first of each month we‘ll share a prompt and we ask all Littens to read a book for the prompt (open to your own interpretation) & post what you read & name a favorite song that fits the prompt. At the end of each month we‘ll combine all the songs to create a monthly Litsy Spotify playlist. You can dip in & out of the challenge if some months are too hectic or you‘re not feeling inspired. 14mo

TheAromaofBooks So did she actually know the contents of both wills?? I honestly felt confused about why she wouldn't hand him what he wanted. Like, it's literally what her job was for the night, to take care of him and get him whatever he couldn't reach from bed. I skipped ahead a little to find out what the wills were, and that left me even MORE confused about how she handled this! 1y

BarkingMadRead @TheAromaofBooks I don‘t think she did? I‘m not sure, but I think she is worried that if it benefits her or Fred, the family will accuse her of something, and she is trying to avoid that. I could totally be wrong lol 1y

TheAromaofBooks I do think that's what she was getting at, but it also feels like her unwillingness to help him could just as easily be misinterpreted by this pack of suspicious vultures, so I guess I would have handed him the stuff and let him have his way! 😂 1y

Clare-Dragonfly Hmm, I am not reading along so it‘s not fresh in my mind, but I remember it being very clear to me that Mary Garth (the best) is making the more difficult but more ethical choice! 1y

CoffeeNBooks Why wouldn't she just call his lawyer to witness him destroying one of the wills and giving her the money? Then his family couldn't accuse her of anything. 1y

CoffeeNBooks @BarkingMadRead It just seems odd, though, that she wouldn't follow his orders about the will and the money, but she followed his orders about not wanting anyone there when that could have solved the issue. Perhaps she thought his vulture family members still would have found fault with that. 1y

Cinfhen Initial thoughts @Reviewsbylola Love Mammy, even if I need to read her sentences 2 or 3 times Scarlett is EVERYTHING I hate about YA (#infiniteEyerolls) but I'm learning to appreciate her, I'm enjoying the reading and I like the pacing you set...I think the book is a little too "wordy" for me?I'm so happy to be reading along side you and the family ? 7y
