1. I adored the Curious George books.
2. Any weather that allows me to sit on the patio.
3. Today I‘m especially grateful for headphones.

Curious George is practicing to be a #detective for Halloween this year. He‘s starting with an investigation into why I have so many unread cozy mysteries! #scarathlonphotochallenge #scarathlon2021 @Linsy @StayCurious @Clwojick
Watching one of youngest kid‘s favorite Halloween specials when he was younger - George‘s Halloween Boo Fest. This used to be on a loop all day every day in October. I love the tell of No-Nuggin who kicks of people‘s hats. This morning he asked for it when we say it on Huluween Family section. 6 more pts for #teamharkness #scarathlon2020 @StayCurious running total 159
This book is a classic, of course, yet I was uncomfortable reading it with my son for obvious reasons... Times have changed since the 1940s and 60s... My, my, George!
This book is about a little money who likes to get into situations caused by curiosity. The illustrations are important, because they show characteristics of George and the man with the yellow hat for children to see.
I would use this in my future classroom, because kids will find it really funny as well as fun to read.
A fantastic study of the effect of Stockholm Syndrome on African wild life. Perfectly worded, so that even the youngest aspiring psychologist has full clinical understanding of the trauma that precedes the condition.
I would read this to kindergardenrs, 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. Its a very fun book. All students love curious george books. The book is very simple for students to understand.
#LilithJuly My favorite little monkey with #TheHat 💛#Nostalgic
I know this is a classic, so I really wanted to like it. But, as a 20th century adult, I just can‘t get past the fact that George is stolen from his home just because the man with the yellow hat wants to. I understand this was written in a different time and I heard the newer stories are more “with the times”, but still I probably won‘t be reading this first installment to my future kids.

Great exhibit at the President George W. Bush Museum on First Lady Laura Bush & her involvement with the National Book Festival
I bought this bookcase today off our local garage sale site. Only $40! I'm so excited to fill it up! Bottom 2 shelves I've designated for Gramma's Library.
Home sick all weekend and today. Making baby beanies to send for the Click For Babies campaign drawing attention to shaken baby syndrome. My 40 yr old Curious George doll is modeling them for me 😂.

My district requires that I have the following displayed in my room every day:
1. The date
2. The day's agenda
3. The content area standard being taught
4. The college and career readiness standard being covered.
5. Objectives
6. I can statement (geez I teach high school not elementary)
7. Before, during and after strategies
8. Activities
9. Homework
What requirements do you have?
"Mom, did you notice that doing handstands and reading at the same time is really tricky?" ???
It's a stormy night in Oklahoma so my #latenightreading looks a little different tonight! ⛈⛈🌩🌩☔️☔️☔️💧💧📚📚⛈ #curiousgeorge #toddlertime #rainraingoaway #readingandraining #pileofbooks
The mischievous monkey who had a canny way of getting in and out of trouble originated in the minds of Hans Augusto and Margret Rey. They conceived of the character while themselves trying to outrun the Nazis, finally escaping from France on homemade bicycles and carrying the manuscript with the first mention of George (then called “Zozo”) along with them. #refugees #junebookbugs
Library story: A really young kid finally worked up the courage to ask if we had a picture book he wanted. This led to the life-changing discovery that if he asked for a book, I would walk over to the picture books and show him where it was! He went mad with power, confidently asked me to find more books, and ended up with an armful before his mom convinced him that they could come back later to get the rest 😂
He was adorable and made my day 😁
I don't have any room on the rest of my shelves so I store all of my picture books (a small collection, but growing thanks to work) on my nightstand. It started off as a way to match the height of the slightly taller nightstand on the other side of the bed, but now this side is much taller...
#onthenightstand #aprilbookshowers (I'm doing a bit of catch-up)
I don't have any pictures for #ReadToAChild because my nieces and nephews prefer to have their grandma read to them (apparently they don't appreciate me reading every word on the page instead of just giving them the gist of the story). So for this one I had to use a picture I posted on here a few weeks ago. #BookLove17
I try to read to my girls as much as possible

Remembering Margret Rey, co-creator of Curious George, who died on this day, Dec 21, in 1996. #OOPquote
“Now run along and play, but don't get into trouble.' George promised to be good. But it is easy for little monkeys to forget.”

My 2-year-old nephew is a big fan of Curious George and his various antics. #RaisingReaders
This is obviously not THE Curious George, but we've read that one too. Of note: Little liked this rendition so much and we read it so for many consecutive nights, I started saying "Curious George Goes Bowling...Again!"
#IgnoranceIsBliss until it's broken. For then adulthood comes and makes the fantasy a moral dilemma. 😛 #Booktober

Im@beginning to wonder whether maybe Curious George doesn't survive extended scrutiny.
Let's be perfectly clear, and end all the lies. I don't care how many times The Man In The Yellow Hat calls George a mischievous little monkey -- George has no tail and is therefore clearly an ape, not a monkey.
Reading Curious George this morning with my elementary school reading buddies.
