I love a good black and white image. The absence of colour can make the subject matter stand out more.

Back in print in an all-new edition is the engaging and illuminating chronicle of the life of the “Queen of Mystery“.
Day 26 - #Autobiography #AboutAugust
#AgathaChristieAnAutobiography
I read this and learned a lot about Christie‘s private life.
1. Probably Agatha Christie, although PG Wodehouse has to be up there, too.
2. Ummm… looks like around a dozen?? There are seriously books everywhere here!
3. Fiction is mostly alphabetized by author, although some series are in their own place. Nonfiction has been labeled with the Dewey Decimal system and shelved that way. I can't help it! 😆
Thank you for the tag @Eggs!!
#WondrousWednesday
Wow! 👀 @TheAromaofBooks thank you for the awesome #highfivetosummerswap box of goodies! I‘ve wanted to read AC‘s autobiography for some time 📚 I love all the other goodies, too! Pens are the way to a nurse‘s ♥️ and gobstoppers are my favorite 😎 Thank you! @JoScho this was a super fun swap!! #HFTSS

(Day 19 - #WalkLikeAnEgyptian)
*I spent a lot of my youth reading Agatha Christie‘s mysteries; the titles above are set in Egypt. I‘m pretty sure today‘s reader will find some latent, and possibly even overt, racism in the books pictured above—but by today‘s standards, the prompt song may even be considered racist. Times change, sometimes in the blink of an eye. Still, I love the song & I treasure my early reading. 🇪🇬 💃🏼 📚
I went to a tea room yesterday with some girlfriends for Galentine's Day. I, of course, bought some loose leaf tea to bring home. In my shopping bag, I found a little card with this lovely quote from Agatha Christie. Google tells me this is from her autobiography.
Day 8 of the @bookriot #Riotgrams challenge: freebie! MY QUEEN. I‘m pretty sure I used my Christie collection for the freebie last time, but I just love seeing them all together. And it turns out I need them for a SEKRET ASSIGNMENT, so it worked out. (Also, it‘s time to replace the few that were damaged in storage.) ☠️🖤⚰️
This article, which can be found on the For Reading Addicts Facebook page, details Christie‘s own choices for the ten best books that she wrote.
Have you read this list? I‘ve read half of them. Are there any you add or remove?
I would add Passenger to Frankfurt, as it was so delightfully ridiculous.
I have challenged myself to read ALL of Agatha Christie‘s books in one year (and blog about it)! If you would like to follow my latest reading adventure, check out my blog, www.pinesandpeaches.com. 😊
Loving this Agatha Christie podcast I found recently! I‘m listening to the current episodes while making my way through the backlist.
Anyone else listening to this podcast?

#readingwomenmonth I've not read any of her books yet which I know is inexcusable but I do know that Agatha Christie herself disappeared for a while and no one ever knew what happened to her in that time. Alien wasps maybe like in dr who? @ephemeralwaltz @Andrew65
Settling in for the evening w/ my #currentread. I‘m really enjoying this autobiography of Agatha Christie. She‘s one of my all time favourite authors. I read another one of her memoirs a few months ago, and gave it 5 stars, this one is looking to be the same for me. Such a fascinating woman, who lived an incredibly rich and full life.
If you‘re a fan of Christie what‘s your favourite novel by her?

Words on #commitment from a master of her craft. Something for all writers to remember!

I just finished (re)reading Murder On The Orient Express. Going to see the movie today. And this gem was just delivered to my doorstep. Happy mysterious Saturday to me! 🤓📖 #booknerd #amreading
So what is everyone's favorite Agatha Christie book? I know this is insane, but I don't recall ever reading a book by her. Movie adaptations and familiar with titles but that is it lol.
❤️🎂📚
The beginning of my Agatha collection 🗝📍 #agathachristie
My kind of #comfortreads. Never fail me, whenever I'm in a reading slump.
#anditsaugust @RealLifeReading
Guess who came back for a visit?! Turns out her name is Mia and she escaped and came back this morning. I felt very uncomfortable returning her the first time because she was so scared to go back. I hate to think she's being treated badly. So having animal control come out to talk to the owners. In the meantime, watching AGATHA, based on when Agatha Christie disappeared for a bit which reminds me that I should read that biography.
I'm a little late to the #bookcolortag party, but here's my stack of black books. Thanks for inviting me to play, @sprainedbrain
Good thing you gave me a choice of colors because I couldn't find one purple book! 🙃💜
Want to play @PurpleyPumpkin @Leelee08 and @CouronneDhiver if you haven't already?
Your color, should you accept it, can be: 💜,💙or💚
Have fun! 📚📚📚
1. Found it on the App Store
2. Excel spreadsheet so I can filter by author, title or genre (yes, I am an OCD dork)
3. I like a mix of physical and ebook
4. No
5. Yes, I am in a suspense/thriller club. Last read was Big Little Lies
6. Me Before You -didn't scream but was frustrated
7. Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
8. Agatha Christie Autobiography
9. Harry Potter
10. My life is not interesting enough for a memoir. 😂

I don't think necessity is the mother of invention. Invention . . . arises directly from idleness, possibly also from laziness. To save oneself trouble.
Day 13 of the #RiotGrams challenge: freebie! Shout-out to my first love, Agatha Christie. I got Thirteen Problems but a dame ain't one. (Sorry not sorry.) 🖤☠️⚰️
I finished the graphic novel I was reading, and have moved onto my second audio book of the day. It's not great quality, but I'm enjoying listening to her talk, also it's quite short, so I can deal with the poor audio quality for a little while. Since it's an audiobook, I give you a picture of the socks that I'm wearing. You're welcome. 🙃#audiobook #dog #socks #idowhatiwant
#marchintoreading #day15 #shepersisted Every single woman in the biographies defines the word persistence.Nicks & McVie without whom Fleetwood Mac wouldn't be who they are,Taraji.P.Henson who overcame much to rise to stardom, both Queen Elizabeth & Princess Margaret in their own ways won out over the rules of royal life,Carrie Fisher overcame addiction & mental health issues & finally Dame Agatha overcame male prejudice in her field to be the best.
I've never really thought about it but it seems that the majority of my favourite mystery/crime authors are women! Here are some of them. There are other favourite women authors who wrote other genres that I like, too.
💜💙💚💛❤️💝Happy International Women's Day!

While wandering the isles of my local library and enjoying a mental health day I happily stumbled a pond this gem. Oh happy day.
#BoughtOnVacation I picked up this lovely edition of Christie's autobiography at Shakespeare and Company in Paris (and had the endpaper stamped, of course 🙂). #FeistyFeb
Cheating for today's #readjanuary post for #autobiography. Meet Agatha, my new foster dog! This amazing girl recently had 13 puppies and took on two others that had been abandoned! I forgot to take a picture of my autobios I have at school, so figured I'd post her photo for her namesake's autobiography! #dogsoflitsy #adoptdontshop @RealLifeReading
Einen Miss Marple Film am Abend gucken bei einer guten Tasse Tee. 😍 Ich will dieses Buchregal. 😎
A Miss Marple movie watching at the evening with a good cup of tea. 😍 I want to have this book shelf. 😎
First #BookMail of the New Year! Dame Agathas autobiography, which I can't wait to read, and Lauren Grahams Talking As Fast As I Can. Plus a Xmas card with cute Xmas ornaments & bookmarks from @LibrarianRyan I don't care that it's not Xmas anymore, I'm still displaying it. Love the StarWars theme, I'm gonna laminate it and put it on my door. ThankYou so much!😍 #HappyNewBook
Had an argument with the hubby, not something we do often but when we do it's always spectacular, so I went and comfort shopped at dymocks.com.au Won't get them till next year, but I feel a little bit better, so I'm happy. The fact he's buggered off out of the house could have something to do with it too.🤔#SmileItsBookmas
I never liked Mystery of the Blue Train either! Took me quite a few tries to finish it.
For some reason, the last part about trains in this paragraph reminded me strongly of a book I read when I was younger, but I can't quite remember what that book is called or what it is about anymore. Undoubtedly there was a segment on traveling by train in it...
Agatha Christie would have been 126yrs old today. Here's a peek at my up and coming collection.
I'm joining in Agatha Christie's bday celebration (thanks Liberty and lizpixie for the inspiration, from your pics) by also taking a pic of my collection. I guess I had too much time on my hands, as I not only arranged chronologically but also the gaps are the books I'm missing. This was all collected pre-Internet, shouldn't be too hard to find the rest, right? The column on the far right is misc Christie-related books.
It's the birthday of my first author love, Dame Agatha Christie! 💗
