I‘m a day late for #ThreeListThursday as usual, but better late than never! My favorites from this particular list of banned books are:
1. Carrie, Stephen King.
2. Christine, Stephen King.
3. Cujo, Stephen King. (Notice a pattern here lol 😆)
Honorable mention goes to Anastasia Krupnik, which I just read recently for the first time. And one I‘m surprised is not on the list is Peyton Place. Thanks for posting @dabbe ! #TLT #bannedbooks
1. No, I don‘t. I also don‘t drive because I don‘t know how to drive.
2. The only book I‘ve read that features a car that I would recommend reading is the tagged book. It‘s very creepy how the car comes to life and how the people driving the car become different people. It‘s a long time from now but this book would be perfect for spooky season. It‘s not a very long book either.

#two4tuesday Thanks @lynneamch for the tag!
1) Absolutely and I miss driving a stick shift. My little 1969 VW bug I named Bobert. Loved that little car. We had a lot of good times together
2) I drove Bobert in high school (early 1980s) so of course my fave author from those days was Stephen King, which means I thought of Christine and Cujo!

1. Yes!!! In fact, every car I‘ve owned my whole life has been a Stick….Corolla, Celica, Corolla. It‘s so much fun!
2. Christine….luckily, I read this in 2023. Not sure I could name another book with a car featured. I can think of plenty of movies!!

I see auto; I think immediately of this book. 😱
Christine was my favorite thing I read back in May, and it‘s one of the most fun books I read all year. It‘s so wild and creepy. I just love Stephen King‘s stories so much.
👉🏻 I should also mention that I read Pet Sematary during May 2023 too, and it was *almost* my favorite from May. But Christine was just so much fun, so it took the top spot.

Non avrei mai pensato che un libro su una macchina mi sarebbe piaciuto, e invece!
Very glad I made time for this iconic SK novel.
Man is it a weird 1 😂 it seemed to get more ridiculous as it went, but the tumultuous, frenzied ending was amazing.

Since I‘ve been in a horror mood, I decided it was time to pick up a Stephen King novel. After all, he is a master of the genre. So, I decided to pull Christine off my shelf. It‘s been on there since 2015. It was time to finally read it, and I‘m glad that I did.
I loved Christine. It‘s a classic King novel that will chill you to the bone.

I have been loving spooky books recently. I started with thrillers, and I‘ve moved on to horror. So of course, I‘ve come back around to one of my favorite authors, Stephen King. I‘ve had Christine on my shelf since 2015. I‘ve been working on clearing my shelf off and I just couldn‘t bring myself to let go of it. So I finally decided to pick it up, and I‘m so glad I did.
What about you? What are you reading on this hot July Monday?
This was just wacky enough to be fun and just creepy enough to make me shudder. Stephen King has some really fabulous nonhuman villains. They way Christine repairs herself after crashing into things completely freaked me out. Dennis‘ narration of this story reminded me a lot of Red‘s narration in Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption novella. So good, I loved it.
Next up #readingStephenKing: Pet Sematary! I‘ve heard it‘s THE scariest King book.
This is WILD. I cautiously added the audiobook so I could listen while driving, and it is fantastic!! I had seen some negative reviews, but I don‘t agree with them at all. I‘m so glad I gave the audio a chance-the narrator‘s different voices add so much to the story. I‘m almost 2/3 thru and the story is great so far. #readingStephenKing
So excited to be starting Christine! #readingStephenKing
I saw the movie as a child and it terrified me.
Holy Cannoli….I loved this book. Never expected that!! Just figured it sat prominently in relatively early King lineage and I should read it. It is a bit long especially in middle, but he‘s so good at character and plot development you hold on. And man, once again, quite a yarn is woven!! If you think it‘s just about a possessed car, you‘re wrong. I would say this is true horror in the King catalogue.
As someone who has very little affinity for cars, I was surprised with how much Christine pulled me in. On its surface, it is indeed a spooky story about a ghostly murder car, but its beating heart is an examination of the dissolution of friendships, and the myriad ways in which that dissolution can hurt and leave lasting scars. Dennis and Leigh make for extremely compelling main characters, and King filled me with creeping unease throughout. 5/5
Happy Wednesday! Last Wednesday of October!
I hope you‘ve had a great month! And Happy Halloween 🎃 👻 🧙!!
1* Book: Has to be the tagged 😱. Movie: Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Donald Sutherland 🫣 that ending
2* I so enjoyed all the Alice Hoffman books with magic in the title.
3* I like to wear yellow and rust/copper
Everyone is invited to play🧡
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
🎧 I‘m shocked. Book was better than the movie! It‘s the descriptive prose. You‘re there in the thick of it.
Is the demonic car alive? So good! Read it and find out! Good narration!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️2/3
I have a fondness for old cars, so naturally a novel about a haunted 1958 Plymouth Fury is one of my favorites by Stephen King.

A book you‘d recommend whose title starts with the featured letter.
Tagging anyone who wants to play.
I loved how every chapter started with song lyrics. I headed over to Spotify a lot reading this book, listening to the tracks, getting into the spirit of things, seeing Christine and Arnie in my mind motorvating around town.
I really enjoyed these characters also, King always knows how to gives his characters depth and everyone of them was very visual to me. Even Christine, that car had personality alright and held her own on the pages.
I am starting to understand why his books are so popular with young guys. They are very engrossing and have lots of pages to get lost in. I liked this one but wouldn't call it scary.
Currently reading… 🚘🤓📚🔥❤️
I have read a lot of King‘s books, and he did not disappoint with Christine. A tale of a possessed car and the boy that bought her. It is a great read of friendship and love.
Admittedly, the first time I picked up this book, I dropped it quickly. I found it slow (most of King's are) and I felt that I couldn't dive into the story. This time around, this book grabbed me and wouldn't let go. The fact that I had watched the movie adaptation may have influenced the aspiration to finish the story. Not my absolute favourite of King's but a classic!

1. A title might grab my attention but I‘ll only buy it or read it if the story sounds good.
2. Did a reread of this recently. One of my favorite Stephen King novels.

1. Christine by Stephen King.
2. Loki from Avengers only became Tom Hiddleston is so hot. 😜
3. Road trip through space. Yassss!

This is the story of a lover‘s triangle, I suppose you‘d say—Arnie Cunningham, Leigh Cabot, and, of course, Christine.

Prompt: Car
Whenever I think of books and cars together I always think of this Stephen King novel.
#curiouscovers: car
Christine was my first Stephen King novel. I have no idea why I pulled it off the library shelf, and I‘m sure the librarian had thoughts when she let preteen me check it out, but I was a huge horror fan from that point on! (Not so much these days, though.)
Very excited that we are teaming up with one of my favorite authors for this remake!
Start your engines!!
I'm saving this for whenever I go on holiday and I'm so excited!
It's so cute
I‘m still reeling from this book. I can‘t get it out of my head. It‘s a chunkster so I read it slowly over the last month or so, until I got halfway yesterday & couldn‘t put it down. SK is masterful with building a slow burn. I feel like I know these characters. Dennis is now one of my favorite narrators & I just love that guy. This book is my worst fears magnified by a million. Creepy, disturbing & downright terrifying. And it has a good ending!
After reading the book earlier in the month, I‘m looking forward to watching the film adaptation. #Scarathlon2020 #TeamHarkness +6 pts
Today's watching was two episodes of Forensic Detectives and then finished the night with Christine. The book is so creepy and in the film when the car is damaged it looks really creepy
16pts for #TeamSlaughter #Scarathlon2020
@Clwojick
Having never seen the movie, I decided I‘d read the book before watching the film. I‘m glad I read this as I found it not only engrossing but I know it will fill in whatever the movie leaves out. Although this is one of King‘s long we works, there isn‘t really anything that I think could be cut out as it‘s all pertinent to the story. #AuthorAMonth #Scarathlon2020 #Screamathon #LittensDressedInBlood #LittenListen #OutstandingOctober +96 pts
After reading the Stephen King novel I thought I‘d give the movie a try (I‘ve been enjoying doing that lately). I shouldn‘t have done it! I really, really did not enjoy this movie. It basically was just about a car that came off the line evil. Just dumb and not scary at all. Still, +6 points for #teamslaughter! #scarathlon2020
This was a quick, thrilling listen for sure. I enjoyed the narrator‘s voice and pacing quite a bit. However, something felt a little flat to me compared to Stephen King‘s other novels I‘ve read/listened to. Could it be that the main villain is a possessed car? Probably. I‘m still glad I‘ve experienced the story and can check it off my list of his books (I‘m trying to make my way through all of them!). 🌟🌟🌟
I saw this car at my doctor‘s office a couple of weeks ago and now the drive-in is showing Christine this weekend. Should I be worried??
