I couldn't find a second hand copy of Royal Assassin for our #RealmOfElderlings read along, so I got an illustrated e-book
And I'm so impressed with the illustrations 🤩
The map, 🗺️ so I don't spoil anything.

I am ready! I might read the 1990s edition as I've cracked the spine and it's already well read
I want to read the Rick Riordan books. I might split it up because it is long. Read other books in-between rather than trying to read it all at once

repost for @PuddleJumper:
Royal Assassin is the second book in the Farseer Trilogy #RealmofElderlings
How is everyone feeling about the series so far?
I‘ve got about 50 pages left of Assassin‘s Apprentice will hopefully get it finished this week. I‘m excited and a little intimidated by the second book. Been an age since I‘ve read anything that long and I think it‘s going to hurt but also fuck yeah my favourite character!

Okay I liked the first book in this series, this one I really didn‘t, with all that happened to the main character it was a little over the top. I tried, I really tried to get to “like” but I just couldn‘t. I know this is a popular series and I‘m trying to figure out why. the abuse is over the top and there should be some type of goal…if he can‘t get to where he needs to go. I think my biggest issue is, if he‘s an assassin how is he always caught?
I didn‘t love Royal Assassin quite as much as I enjoyed Assassin‘s Apprentice. I think it suffered from a little bit of second book syndrome. And Fitz got on my nerves. But I still enjoyed the atmosphere and setting. Fitz is still young here so there‘s room for development. I‘m still going to continue the series but I‘m going to take a break to start book three with a fresh perspective.

🎧 Not sure why I waited so long to listen to this book. It‘s captivating & easy to read! If you liked the first book you‘ll enjoy this one also. BOOK 2 of The Farseer Trilogy.
There are characters to love & hate! Interesting magic! A good character driven series so far. Hoping to read book 3 next weekend!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+
Libby ate my book. And I have to wait a whole month to get it back. I‘m feeling quite bereft. 🙁
Robin Hobb is a master. This is a fantastic follow-up to Assassin's Apprentice. The character's were so well defined, and the prose so well written that I was physically repulsed by the ignorance of Fitz at times, and I wanted to throw the book across the room when Regal was on the page. That much emotion being drawn from a book is unusual for me. I'm excited to finish the trilogy out.
Apparently it is also Monday in the Kingdom of the Six Duchies, because FitzChivalry and I are having the same day.

Thanks for the tag! 😊
1) NIGHTEYES 💕💕💕💕💕🐺
2) Strong, probably. I like funny or cute supporting characters!

More like 4.5 🌟
This was way better than book one! The world building and characters are well drawn out, a bit more clarity with the magic system in this second installment. I think i am beginning to understand it better. I learned nothing more about the red ships.
With all that said, I love love love Nighteyes, the wolf and his character has upped the whole story for me. The last 150 pages also were incredible.
Found in my library resale shop. Bought 100% for the cover. Zero regrets. I've not read anything by Hobb yet but I've heard good things.
It‘s been a minute since I shared a picture here. I‘m putting a lot of focus into my blog and Twitter lol. But I‘m still here still reading. I‘m trying to balance my life but it‘s hard.
I did though get new bookshelves. I‘ll share them tomorrow!
Wow this was a journey!
I really enjoyed the first book in this trilogy but I absolutely loved this one! I really like Robin Hobb's writing style and just from her debut to this second novel there is such a difference that makes me even more excited for the books to come!
Loving this trilogy so much!
Mother/daughter read 😁
I‘m half way through Plain Bad Heroines and loving it- 1980s horror film in a book.
I read the Mad Ship trilogy a few years back and found them brilliant... Also enjoyed the rain wild chronicles. I guess this trilogy didn't quite meet my expectations... Although really good in terms of the world created and connecting with all of the characters, I felt it quite drawn out and it took me really long to finish. Glad I read them though!
5 ⭐️
What an amazing story. Although it took me a month to read this book, due to lack of time but I thoroughly enjoyed every page when I took out time to read it. Ending was super. We get to see Fitz grow up to be a big built man here 💪 and his anger episodes were very satisfying. Some action from him was what I was waiting for 😜. Love his relationship with Nighteyes and looking forward to more of their adventures together in the next book.
That was so intense! Edge of the seat, couldn‘t look away, finger nail bitting stuff.
Book 2 in the series and the characters have developed beautifully: The villains are absolutely despicable and I hate some of them with a violent passion! The heroes are flawed and realistic, but extremely likeable - totally cheering for them every step of the way.
The plot is intricate and intriguing.
Can‘t wait to dive into the third book of the series.
Half way through Royal Assassin, book 2 of The Farseers Trilogy and savouring every moment.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend as well 💗

Three of my favorite fantasy characters -
Belgarath who travels in the form of a wolf, Cole St Clair, a werewolf in the Mercy Falls series and Fitz who bonded with the wolf, Nighteyes in the Farseer Trilogy
I loved book 1, and book 2 is even better!! This is becoming one of my new favorite series, and I love Hobb‘s writing. Excited to see what the end of the trilogy has in store. https://amysbookreviews.com/2020/09/08/royal-assassin-by-robin-hobb-review/
And right after my last post, books 2 and 3 arrived! I‘m so excited!!!!
My copies of the second and third books in the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb just arrived and I couldn‘t be more excited (especially after a frustrating night of work). Going to crush out a 30 mile bike ride and then settle in with this tonight. #royalassassin #robinhobb #farseertrilogy #indiebookstores #shoplocal

I haven‘t done one of these in a while ....
1. My dog thinks she‘s a human and often sits like this 🤦🏻♂️😂
2. #FarseerTrilogy
3. Not an awful lot .... too much bad food and whisky 😂
4. 🥛 🍫
There are a lot of herbs, teas and tinctures in this book - so here‘s my Vitality Tea with Rooibos.
This is a great instalment in the Farseer trilogy - but man was it stressful being in the midst of Buckkeep during all the political intrigue, warfare and villainy. I feel exhausted! The characters are SO good though and the two types of magic are fascinating. 🌟🌟🌟🌟⬇️

This has taken me most of February to get through but what a journey. I love these books.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thoroughly enjoyable read. The second book in the Farseer trilogy picks up where the first book finished and has good pacing and a well developed world with a likeable (yet somewhat naive) protagonist in the shape of Fitz. Looking forward to polishing the trilogy off.
I went to the library & the bookstore to grab a couple last minute additions to my TBR for the #readathon You could call me ambitious 😅

The tagged book was my favorite but I also enjoyed Children of Ruin a lot. Actually, now that I reflect back I enjoyed all the ones I read this month no duds in the bunch. Now on to October! ❤📖
Just as good as the first book in the series. I liked how Hobb grew the character of Fitz. The plot was good and paced well. I didn't except a couple of things at the end. No major cliffhanger which I am grateful for. Looking forward to book 3. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I am loving this second installment of The Farseer Trilogy!
I have been audio puzzling in the evenings. I just not much of a TV watcher and I like being busy. Thankful that audiobooks are so plentiful. 💜📚🎧
The middle book of a trilogy is, for me, the make or break instalment. This had a few wobbly moments but on the whole it basically made sure the hook of the first book was firmly embedded! It was a little slow to get up to speed, had a fair bit of recap & the action is pretty much confined to a single location but it was soon back to the familiar convoluted intrigues of the Farseer family. Love the Fool - such a fascinating character ... cont. ⬇️
This summer I have been mostly reading Robin Hobb's Farseer trilogy. Not exaggeration - I feel like it took the entire season to get through it!
But now I've finished it & I feel that, after being so immersed in & absorbed by the world of the Six Duchies, I've been unceremoniously dumped back in the real world and with an unpleasant void in my reading life to boot.
Back from Kos - where I read for approximately zero minutes as going on holiday with a 5 year old is hard work & not really at all relaxing. Gone are the days of reading 6 books a week while sat in a leafy taverna sipping ouzo. Cue 14 days of wrestling with a bottle of sunscreen & a recalcitrant child.
So am finally on to volume 2 of this trilogy. Which I'm enjoying & is helping to reduce my stress level.
Finally done with all the daughter's grad party madness and now back to reading! I loved book two of the Farseer trilogy. Slow yes, lots of details, but once you become hooked on Fitz and the rest of the characters, you really won't mind. Burrich might be my favorite here, and Nighteyes of course. On to the next book!
