V Is for Voting | Kate Farrell
9 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
V Is for Voting is an ABC book that introduces progressive families to concepts like social justice and civil rights and reminds readers that every vote counts! A is for active participation. B is for building a more equal nation. C is for citizens' rights and our duty. D is for difference, our strength and our beauty. An engaging introduction to the tenets of democracy, V Is for Voting is a playful, poetic, and powerful primer about the importance of voting and activism. Featuring Kate Farrells rhyming text and Caitlin Kuhwalds bold art, plus thoughtful back matter, the book is a gorgeous, and crucial, addition to every young readers library. It makes the perfect gift for fans of A Is for Activist, Woke Baby, and Feminist Baby.

CrowCAH Glad I can across this post. If possible, tag me for next month‘s vote. This trope of baby hits a little too close to home for me, so I‘ll pass on reading for April. 8mo
willaful I'm not going to vote because I'm most interested in Ready or Not and my odds of getting in time are slim. But I'll mention that I've read Out on a Limb and it's a really cool, unique and satisfying romance. Here's a link to my review if anyone's interested: https://willaful.wordpress.com/2023/09/19/out-on-a-limb-by-hannah-bonam-young/ 8mo

Ok #pemberittens it‘s time to vote, although you don‘t have to be a #pemberlitten to join us, so anyone can participate!! Here are the choices, drop a comment below with the one you‘d most like to read with the #hashtagbrigade for those that are new, the hashtags are usually ridiculous and spoilers, so don‘t read the list each day until you‘ve read the chapter! 1️⃣ Tess of the D‘ Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy2️⃣ Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell ⬇️⬇️⬇️

BarkingMadRead 3️⃣ A Glass of Blessings by Barbara Pym 4️⃣ Old Friends New Fancies by Sybil Brinton 5️⃣ A Room With a View by EM Forster 6️⃣ a Passage to India by EM Forster 7️⃣ Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray (edited) 2y
IndoorDame I‘m voting for Cranford, but I‘m pretty excited about this list so I‘ll join in for most of these titles! 2y

I saved this #bbrc book for today. If you haven‘t voted please do! I loved how simple this book was about voting but how it had a powerful message about how important it is to have your voice heard!
