🙏 That I don't have to worry about where my next meal is coming from or where I'm sleeping at night. That I'm safe in my home and no one hits or hurts me there.
Congratulations @Megabooks on reaching this Litsy milestone! Summer in Australia means Christmas & my favourite Xmas read is The Stupidest Angel by Christopher Moore & it has to be the audiobook which is hysterically funny. The angel Raziel is sent to Pine Cove to grant a childs Xmas wish. The kid has witnessed what he thinks is Santa being murdered so Raziel ends up resurrecting an entire graveyard of zombies that attack during Xmas Mass. #25Etsy
"Oh, that get-to-know-yourself stuff will send you full-blown batshit,” said her friend Molly Michon. “And believe me, I am the uncrowned queen of batshit. Last time I really got to know myself it turned out there was a whole gang of bitches in there to deal with. I felt like the receptionist at a rehab center. They all had nice tits, though, I gotta say."
If you‘re looking for a light, fast paced, completely irreverent and silly Christmas story, this one‘s for you. Especially if you like your characters a little crazy with a side of ridiculousness. Typical Christopher Moore.
Just a few pages and a bit of snuggle time before work 😸💜. This book is hilarious. Only Christopher Moore would bring Zombies to a Christmas story! Or Tim Burton I guess. 🧟♀️🎄🦇
Ok, this is the best author‘s warning ever! My grandmother would have enjoyed this! I don‘t know about yours...
When Froedrick isn‘t getting attention, he‘s willing to go to any length to distract me from whatever I‘m doing. I was sitting on the floor opening yesterday‘s Xmas cards... he wanted supper. Not comfortable. Good thing we love him!
I‘m starting The Stupidest Angel this morning as he sleeps in my lap. I‘ve been looking forward to this book! Thanks @mcipher !
🌲Oof, I have so many books on my TBR that I want, lol. Let‘s see... we‘ll say Americanah, I‘ll Be Gone in the Dark, and Norse Mythology.
🌲 Candy canes!
🌲 Not yet, but probably this weekend 😊
🌲The one tagged always makes me laugh, lol.
🌲 We have an Elf on the Shelf, but no other established traditions yet. I usually end up working either Christmas Eve or Day so... 🤷🏾♀️

#GetMovin #day5 #LetsGetRidiculous It‘s Xmas & the angel Raziel has finally been given a task, to find a child & grant their Xmas wish. A bit short of brains, he causes a zombie invasion in the town of Pine Cove & the only people to fight it are a pot smoking sheriff, his schizophrenic wife whose alter ego, the Warrior Babe Of The Outlands has taken over due to stopping her meds to buy her husband a bong for Xmas & a DEA pilot with a talking bat🦇
Looking for an antidote to saachrine during the Holidays? Give the residents of Pine Cove a try and you can get some laughs while a few amateur dectectives get drunk, coral a fruit bat as a pet, and battle some talking dead folk out at the old chapel graveyard.
Today @AnnieD and I had a bit of a cookie decorating competition along with @Mdargusch and @Reviewsbylola ‘s little rugrats while listening to some Christmas music 🎼
Then I got to start this gift from @everlocalwest during naptime ☺️ Perfect December day!
The year my grandfather passed was hard on my family, and the Christmas that came shortly after was a particularly melancholy one. He was a true patriarch that held us together and he loved the holiday. This ridiculous book really helped me that Christmas. It is hilarious and I loved all of the bizarre characters. A memory of #xmaspast that I wanted to share because someone might be opening this book as we speak and I wanted her to know why. #mcpl
This book is a hilarious genre-crossing holiday treat! Part paranormal, part romance, part action, and part zombie apocalypse mixed with some bawdiness and laugh-out-loud jokes. Also the audiobook is amazing: narrator is fabulous and creative, and there are periodic Christmas music interludes. Check this one out if you want an off-kilter Christmas story.
I just did the funnest thing - a book tasting! The Tacoma Public Library put this on, & it was great - holiday-themed, with 4 tasting stations (tables), with books & treats on all. I‘d love to do this again 😊❤️📚
As I was digging around looking for a book that I purchased awhile ago (the downside of moving is everything is lost in Box World), I came across this. Looks like I have something festive to read this Holiday season. But not until Dead Turkey Day passes. I refuse to be Christmasy before that. 🎄🔥🦃
#MonsterMadness2017 #day13 #KillerTomato I'm going with the Angel in this bonkers story by Christopher Moore. He's sentient & absolutely nuts. In trying to grant a child's Xmas wish, he ends up raising an entire cemetery of killer zombies. They almost manage to take down the entire town, but they're saved by a pot smoking sheriff & his schizophrenic, Warrior Queen wife. You have to read it, or better still, listen to the audiobook. It's amazing.
Day 11. Chapter 3: holly jolly - holiday books - Well, if you follow me you already know...these are my idea of good holiday reads! 👹🎄🤘🏾🎅🏼🔪🖤💉😜#strangerreader
I almost never #DNF books. I am compulsive about my reading and once I start a book I feel compelled to finish it. In my lifetime there have been three books I remember bailing on: Children's Book, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, and The Stupidest Christmas Angel. I will most likely go back and read the first two (gave up because I was bored) but will never go back and try the Moore book again which I thought was dumb. #readjanuary
https://blog.chrismoore.com/2016/12/25/your-christmashanukkah-present-noir-chapt... Merry Christmas to all my Littens! I hope all your bookish dreams come true this holiday season!
In another Christmas story, Dale Pearson, evil developer, self-absorbed woman hater, and seemingly unredeemable curmudgeon, might be visited in the night by...ghosts who, by showing him bleak visions of Christmas future, past, and present, would bring about in him a change to generosity, kindness, and a general warmth...But this is not that kind of Christmas story, so here...someone is going to dispatch the miserable son of a bitch with a shovel.
I started this today. Not sure it's my cup of tea. I don't get CM's sense of humor. I'll keep on to about 1/2 way and see if it improves for me. 😐
