Fun, fast paced read. I was looking for a spooky story for the last week of October and this definitely did the trick. 👻

This was a page turner, and perfect for the season! My first Ruth Ware, and there are two more waiting on my shelves. All the action takes place at a “hen” (which seems to be the same as a bachelorette party for the bride-to-be) in a large, modern home in the woods of England, surrounded by glass. What happens is sinister. The ending was not strong for me.

Susanita Yeah that all glass house was a little creepy. 3mo

This audiobook only took me 1 1/2 days to finish. I keep saying “it was so good” but it was sooo good! The narrator was amazing. The suspense just built up and built up, then the mystery took hold and blew my mind. It reminded me of “And Then There Were None” which was even referenced in the book. Had a better ending though. #NotSoScaryAthon #FallIntoReading #BUZZWORDATHON #BookSpinBingo #24 #115

kyraleseberg I read this one in print and found it to be boring. Really disappointing because I've liked a couple others from this author. 7mo

I‘m going to be in conversation with Ruth in a couple of weeks for the Savannah Book Festival so I‘m reading through her work. I thought this was good for a debut. I knew who the bad guy was pretty early on, but enjoyed learning the why. This was also a nice take on the unreliable narrator.

Fun mystery - predictable ending and some character cluelessness didn‘t make me turn pages any slower! I will read more by Ruth Ware when I want a compulsively readable mystery.

BarbaraBB I might check this out, I‘ve been looking for compulsively readable! (edited) 9mo
Twainy I‘ve only read one book by her & this could describe that one too 😆 sometimes I just need a quick, fun, addictive mindless read 🤷🏼‍♀️ 9mo
AlisBookNookCorner I read this and A Woman in Cabin 10, I enjoyed AWIC10 more. But both were enjoyable, I just started her novel, The Death of Mrs. Westaway, and I can already feel Ware's predictable writing shing through. She's my fun guilty pleasure author 😆 9mo

I was thrilled but not scared. I definitely got some Girl on the Train vibes from this one but I feel like GotT was definitely more suspenseful.

IamIamIam I liked this and inadvertently read it twice because I was playing nice for book club! Haha... I was OBSESSED with Imogen Church's narration, though!! 11mo

The book was good and honestly the story felt like some ID channel crime. It‘s crazy to know stuff like this happen in real life. I did start reading this book some time ago I remembered about it today and finished the book today. The villain was predictable but the author‘s overall writing had me so sucked in I couldn‘t wait to finish reading it. The ending was good but it was leave it to your imagination kind (cont)

Nevermore88 Of ending. Also it felt a bit rushed. The villain was Clare which I knew from the get. But like I mentioned before the writing is awesome. The buildup for me was when Nora thought Nina had committed the crime. I thought that would of been an amazing plot twist. Nina didn‘t show any signs of doing such a thing ( which she didn‘t) but that could of fool anyone. 12mo

I‘ll be honest - I think listening to the audiobook rather than reading it in print saved this one for me. The motivations of the main characters were...ehhhhh. But Imogene Church‘s performance was superb and it was her voice acting that gripped me immediately. Ultimately, I had fun with it, despite it being a bit unbelievable.

This was another good suspense/thriller from Ruth Ware. I had so many questions throughout, and I can‘t believe I missed some of the clues about who did it. I enjoyed this #audiobook from #Libby. Imogen Church is an excellent narrator.

The setting is a glass house in the midst of a forest. A strange mix of characters are gathered to celebrate the bride but the weekend ends in murder. This is a story of jealousy & obsession-a well crafted mystery that had me turning pages very quickly in the end just to see if I had it all figured out.

I finished this book in a couple of hours last night. It was well written and I liked a few of the characters. I thought the ending was predictable and there were no twists that took me by surprise. I didn‘t enjoy it as much as The Woman in Cabin 10. Overall, it was a fun read and definitely worth it if you‘re a fan of Ruth Ware.

I hate reading ebooks but think they are good for reading before bed sometimes. So I started this one last week.

Can someone explain what #TBRCrew is ? Is that a group of people who only read from their TBR list and don't buy any new books???... Sounds like something I need.... Maybe

jessinikkip @ElizaMarie words are hard tonight for me, but you usually have a good explanation of our group 1y
ElizaMarie So. TBR Crew is just a group of people that are encouraging each other to tackle our mountain of TBRs. WE communicate through “Mighty Networks“ where we kinda just cheer each other on. (the not buying new books is really not a part of it) .. I mean I buy books constantly!

Basically it just another platform that we talk on and just form online friendships and provide guidance, a listening ear, etc.

My words are failing me... @AkashaVampie

I was actually on the edge of my seat here & very interested in what happened at this hen party. The characters felt real, the plot felt close & it was a page turner for sure. Slightly predictable ending, but nonetheless a good read.

In spite of the long squashy sofas, the place felt oddly bare -- and after a second I realized why. It wasn't just the lack of clutter and the minimalist decor but the fact that there wasn't a single book in the whole place. It didn't even feel like a holiday cottage -- every place I've ever stayed in has had a shelf of curling Dan Browns and Agatha Christies. It felt more like a show home.

You don‘t bring it up much as an adult: how you got your heart broken for the first time. But Tom was the next best thing to an anonymous stranger. I was highly unlikely to meet him again after this weekend, and somehow telling him felt like a release.
