Awful. I love anything witchy….except this book. The narration was terrible; breathy and dramatic (not in a good way, in an annoying teenage way). I cringed the whole time. Wishing for it to be over.

This was a reread so I can read the rest of the series. I enjoyed it, it was a good read to listen to while on vacation.
Sorcha, the Dark Witch of Mayo, gave her life to protect her 3 children, giving them her power & spending the last of it to destroy Cabhan, a powerful witch who wants her magick & her body.
American Iona Sheehan is in Ireland to meet her cousins and follow her destiny. As a descendant of Sorcha and one of the 3, it is up to the cousins to end Cabhan once and for all. One thing Iona wasn't expecting: falling in love with Boyle, her cousin's friend.
I may have to reread this one, I don‘t know why but I feel like reading the vibe this book gives off, I never really looked but does she have other series similar to this one? Or any other series from other authors similar to this one .. to me this book was very atmospheric old world and that‘s what I‘m in the mood for I guess..
My latest fiction read. After Librarian of Auschwitz I need something light. I have never read Nora Roberts. Ever. But I have this trilogy in my library. Has anyone read it?

This trilogy centers around a trio of Irish Witches who are preparing to battle an ancient evil. This book is about the most green of the trio & her preparation to harness her magic.

Iona has burned a few bridges, sold pretty much all her possessions, and moved to Ireland in the hopes of finding a place she fits in and connecting with her history. When her Nan told her of her ancestors and her link to the Dark Witch, she knew this was the path for her. Now, on the doorstep of her distant cousins, she is setting down a path of magick and a long awaited battled.
3.5/5⭐️
Ancient family of witches in County Mayo Ireland begin their generation‘s fight with an ancient enemy? How can I NOT enjoy this one! Good story with interesting characters & plot with just enough romance for my taste. Dialogue felt forced sometimes and some scenes dragged on & on. But, overall I really like this one & can‘t wait to read the rest of the trilogy.

1: Witches in Ireland fight evil.
2: My phone 📱 I don‘t need the apps or internet, but I don‘t like being without the ability to get in touch with others. It‘s sort of sad but true.
3: 2008. I graduated college, moved back home, visited Banff, Jasper & Whistler in Canada, and began my journey into true adulthood. And my Dad was still alive, so my family was purely joyful.

1️⃣ Creepy. I find that “kooky” ones tend to be unreliable.
2️⃣ Witch...However, I do love a handsome, charismatic Vampire 🧛♂️

This was my weekend and I think it's gonna carry over to the rest of the week. I've been in a little reading slump but this book is starting to get good and it's pulling back in. I'm just gonna stay here in the cozy for a while longer. 😊

This trilogy has been on my radar for a while. It‘s screams Fall to me 🍂🍁✨📚
I just couldn't get into this one. The magic system felt contrived and it was difficult to take it seriously in the early chapters. I ended up DNF this one but really wanted to love it. Pass for me.
#20series20days Day 12
The Cousins O'Dwyer
Nora Roberts writes a wide variety of stories (and I'm sure they're all very good) but the ones I like are set in Ireland with a healthy dose of magic. This series is about an Irish sister and brother and their American cousin, all witches, who are descended from an ancient witch and who must battle an evil sorcerer. Of course there's an abundance of romance, sex, humor, and the Irish countryside.
Pretty interesting and heartbreaking. Iona came to Ireland to meet her cousins and accept her destiny. She knew that accepting the pendant she has to fight the dark sorcerer who lives through century and waiting to devour them and their magic. I ❤️ Iona. A very bubbly girl and I want to protect her from any hurt and harm. 😂 Boyle the man she‘s supposed to fell 😍 with is a man with few words but hurt her accidentally. #paranormal #trilogy
I‘m keeping my #BookSpin list basically the same for March. I didn‘t have time to read #12 last month so it remains. I changed #4 to Coyote America because I remembered I already read the other book.
Thanks again for hosting @TheAromaofBooks !
It started really good but the pacing was just too fast. The characters were underdeveloped and relationships shallow. The setting was well written but overall, it felt like it needed much more development. ⭐⭐
Thanks for hosting #BookSpin @TheAromaofBooks ! I need some extra motivation to get these books read for some reason, so thank you.
Here are my leftovers from last year‘s tbr, swap books from @Scochrane26 and @TorieStorieS 💙💙, and unread books on hand from The Great American Read list. Here we go...

Reading my first #noraroberts book and really enjoying it so far. Might use this one for #halfbloodbingo for a romance. #bookbingo #amreadingparanormalromance. Also including this in this month's reading goal of first-time reads, where I read books by authors everyone but me has read
@JamieLou I love it all. I also really love how great minds think alike. We got each other Sabrina and Dark witch. I would so buddy read that is you would like to. You also sent amazing journals. I can‘t wait to open up those literary witch oracle cards. And believe it or not, I have never had nerds rope. And that skeleton glass. I have seen similar ones but never black. That will be my new water glass at work 😁
Thank you #basicwitchswap
Not your typical romance and really a quick, fun read. Just enough spooky & witchery for an October read. Can‘t wait to pick up the rest of the series. #Scarathlon #TeamSlaughter #darkwitch #noraroberts
Not your typical romance novel. More of a witchy fantasy with some romance, which I really enjoyed! Ireland, magic, witches, fate, family, and love all come together to make this one fun read. Perfect for October!
I‘m finishing reading my witchy book, while eating gingerbread ghosts (courtesy of my mother), and drinking hot cocoa with a shot of pumpkin spice Baileys out of my Skeleton Jack mug. This is a perfect October evening. 🎃

I‘m starting this one in bed tonight.
Reading through this trilogy. It is a good read, but would love to see more character development and backstory.
Fantastic! Loving every minute - and can‘t wait to jump to the next.
This trilogy takes place in #Ireland. I've read the first one already, but would like to reread it and continue with the series. It was the first Nora Roberts I'd read, and I remember actually really enjoying it.
#LiteraryLuck @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
Such a fun read, I love how Ms. Robert's mixes so much into her stories but keeps them entertaining and that keeps the pages turning.
I read this one for #Booked2019 Reading Challenge. It was a quick read and as I have not read a romance in quite a few years, was pleasantly surprised that I did not roll my eyes one time and the female lead took no shit from the male lead which happens too often in the romance genre. The witchy part was not over the top and was accurate for the most part. Four out of five stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Reading snack of champions. 🍰🥃 #readathon
Found this red wine today at Meijer and thought it sounded both delicious and like the perfect thing for #TheWitchIsBack especially when combined with this book! Full confession: I‘ve never read this book but my mom highly recommended it when I said I needed something to fulfill a reading challenge so she lent me her copy!

It‘s been years since I‘ve read any Nora Roberts. I got a little sick of her back when I was reading lots of romance novels, but this series just looked too irresistible to me! I‘m really excited about reading it, but it‘s going to have to wait because I‘m already planning on it for my October TBR list. 🧙♀️🧟♀️🎃💫

Oh no! I have to go sit in waiting rooms all afternoon to get my car inspected and my tags renewed and read alone all by myself! Whatever shall I do?! 😅😅 Enjoy it because I'm an adult and my life is weird now. New sink sponges for my kitchen excite me 😅
