Admittedly a bit gorier than I thought, but will definitely be continuing with the series. Looks like it‘s the kind of thing you have to read in order though, and since the ebook wait times on library books are through the roof these days I suspect it‘ll take me a while to get through it!

This book was good but kinda all over the place since I watched the show first... would highly recommend reading the book first then watching the show! I can't wait to get book 2/6! Highly recommend!!!

Both the TV series and comics are uniquely insane! Already finished Season 1 on Netflix and I'm still gonna binge read the 10 more issues so I can keep up and compare. Joe Hill definitely got his genes from Stephen King.

While I thought it had a good start, I was disappointed by the last two episodes in the season.

alisiakae So, I was kind of annoyed that it ended up feeling more like Riverdale than Stranger Things. And that Kinsey's Fear is still running around, but I guess they are leaving that open for the second season? Too much focus on teenage drama and not nearly enough backstory on the keys in my opinion. If they don't bring in more of the key mythology in Season 2, I might be out. 5y

Finished volume 1...on to #2! Trying to decided if I should reread them all first or watch the series in tandem.

Laughterhp I only read the first 2 volumes and feel like I should have read them all before watching this. We‘ve already watched 3 episodes of this and I‘m a little mad at all the changes but don‘t know if they are actual changes because I didn‘t read them all 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ 5y

It‘s almost October which also happens to be my favorite time of year! I‘m realizing that I have an overwhelming number of choices for #scarathlon 😈 That‘s not a bad problem to have! These are some of my graphic novel options.

Clwojick AHhaha! Me too. I have so many thrillers & mysteries on my shelf, plus i have access to all the ebooks and audiobooks through CloudLibrary and Libby. And I love a good graphic novel, so I have like 60 Favorited on my favorite GN website. The options are limitless. I'm currently trying to work a week ahead in my schooling, so i can spend more time reading during the first week of the month. 😂 5y

Beautiful book with an interesting tale. I‘ve been told that it only gets better, so I‘m intrigued to see where things go. Being one of my first Graphic Novel reads it took me a bit to get pulled into the story telling style but by the end I was totally into it.

I‘m not much of a graphic novel reader but a friend lent this to me. Since I‘ll be in the hospital much of this week with one of my guys I‘ll have some good reading opportunity.

Not sure why I always struggle with Graphic Novels and Comics. While the art is amazing I‘m not much of a visual learner and I feel like I need to give my imagination more leeway. Maybe this is why I don‘t enjoy Audio dramas either. Any graphic novel suggestions?

Bookwomble I know a lot of people are put off by it being in the superhero genre, but Moore and Gibbon's Watchmen really does have the complexity and depth of a novel.

Lindy Do you enjoy watching movies? I think of graphic novels as an improvement on film format, because you can slow—slower is always better with visual art—the forward pace as much as you like. You can also “rewind” the action, flipping back to check things. @thegirlwiththelibrarybag has made some great suggestions. I will add

The first thing I have read beside Nursing stuff in weeeksss!!!! I read the entire thing in one sitting!!! So so so so good!!! Great intro to a series! Can‘t wait to get my hands on the next one, I already put it on hold at the library. I think graphic novels may have to be my go to while I‘m busy with school. If you love graphic novels and haven‘t read this yet...you need to read it ASAP! ❤️

LoveToReadLiveToRead I have this and started it but didn‘t finish it. It was kind of like a play with different voices but I got a bit lost in following who was who. I‘ll get back to it at some point though, might be easier to differentiate once you get to know the voices more. Will be interested to hear what you think! 7y

I just finished the 2nd volume of this graphic novel series and I am loving the creativity of the story and the art work. You can‘t tell by this picture but it is really a bit on the dark and creepy side. Very clever.

Ps #litsylibrarians --> do you agree that graphic novels should be shelved in non-fiction? I understand the "why" ... I just disagree. ?

TheLudicReader I don‘t understand the “why”. Maybe if the graphic ‘novel‘ is a piece of non-fiction it belongs in that section, but otherwise why? 7y

Librarybelle At my library, we shelve graphic novels in fiction, unless of course it‘s a nonfiction graphic novel. But, I know a lot depends upon who‘s cataloging the book for the collection and who is selecting the book. We just found that patrons would find the books a lot easier if they were with the other fiction titles. 7y

JennAndrew I disagree with shelving them in non-fiction entirely, unless of course it‘s a non-fiction work. They‘re novels. We shelve them in their own section anyway (and someone just stole a load 😩😭), but it doesn‘t make much sense to me to put them in non-fic. We don‘t put picture books in children‘s non-fiction. 🤨🤔 7y
