Elections play a major role in the political process and maintaining their quality requires tremendous effort. This article discusses how a global technology solutions provider, who provides electronic counting (e-counting), broadened its scope to provide an end-to-end solution for an elections management project for Oslo, Norway. It describes the project's scope, which included pre-election processes, advance voting, printing and distribution of all ballot papers; operator training; and calculation, scrutiny, storage, and transmission of results. It examines some of the challenges encountered in the project, particularly the rapidly emerging trend of advance voting--votes cast before election day--and the high number of stakeholders who were especially vigilant of the project's progress and success. It overviews the Norwegian electoral system and highlights the company's experience with the country's process. It then explains how the project team set up 23 polling stations in Oslo to receive advance votes and created a centralized processing system to avoid duplications. Furthermore, the article looks at the integrated system the project team used to stay on task. It then discusses how 16 elections were carried out using the same process and then describes the stakeholder groups. It reports how the project team established a communication channel and hosted kickoff meetings with each agency contact. It summarizes the complex process the team used on election day to save time, costs, and manpower. Accompanying the article is a sidebar discussing how previous experience can benefit project teams.

I alternated between graphic novels and novellas/short novels this #readathon. I went into overtime with Miss Brody and there's a couple of chapters left of Rocket and Groot for bedtime. I slept approx 4 hours, spent maybe 3 on social media, and some more time disappeared into providing snacks and staring glazedly into nothingness. Now, it might be over but I'll keep reading!

Kristelh LOL 😂 me too, staring gazedly 6y
Centique 😍 Groot! 6y
PurpleyPumpkin Nicely done! And you're still going?!? I'm impressed. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 6y
Leniverse @PurpleyPumpkin I read about half of the complete Watchmen and started a trashy vampire novel. Then I went to bed. 😴 6y

Here's the results from yesterday's bookish discussion question of the day regarding: "Which 5 are your favorites? http://www.architecturendesign.net/cozy-reading-nooks-book-corner/ #BookTalk". The top 5 favorites among Litsy voters were:

1-4. a 4-way 1st-place tie:

1
2
22
32

5-8. and a 3-way 2nd-place tie:

20
30
47

Out of the 64 choices, 45 of them had at least 1 vote. A diversity of taste among us Littens! ???

CouronneDhiver I love that we're all so different... and so cool about it! A rare open-minded space on the web. ❤️ 7y
moranadatter Fun! Thanks for compiling the answers. 7y
tournevis A diversity of tastes, but a strong preference for 8 spexific entries! That was fun! 7y

britt_brooke @MrBook Which nook was your favorite? 7y
MrBook @britt_brooke Mine, I think 😆, are 18 22 42 54 63. @BookBabe 's are 2 13 22 28 32. 7y
britt_brooke @MrBook 😁😁 7y
Aleida Many looked very uncomfortable. Benches with cushions under windows don't make a reading nook. Also, I don't like my back to the window's view. Few were true places to comfortably read. And a hammock in the middle of the room isn't even a nook. There were a few I loved, though. 7y
MrBook @Aleida That's exactly what @BookBabe said 😎🙌🏻. 7y
Aleida 22, 54, 47. 7y
Aleida @BookBabe right?!! 7y
LitsyGoesPostal 😊👍🏻 7y
