Dracula | Bram Stoker

Seabreeze_Reader Sleepwalking and weird stuff going down. Oh ya, as a reader, I'm totally buying into the whole blame it on a pin theory. 🤨🤣 1mo

Bookwormjillk So much going on in this chapter! Bram keeps it moving! 1mo
Clare-Dragonfly I made a connection on this read that Lucy‘s strange attacks start out specifically on the grave of a suicide. I don‘t know exactly what that would have meant to the CoE of the time, but from their comments earlier it‘s obviously a particularly bad place to be. 1mo
mcctrish @Bookwormjillk he sure does! So Renfeld has escaped, his dr is Lucy‘s betrothed? She‘s now addicted to vampire bites, Keanu is checked into the same hospital as Renfeld? Or sent to recover farther afield? Dracula‘s house is beside the hospital where Renfeld is hence the escape #themasterhascometohim #somuchbiting 1mo
Cuilin @Clare-Dragonfly I was just looking up vampire lore and came across other ways to become a vampire excluding being bitten by one, and suicide is on the list. (edited) 1mo
julieclair @Cuilin Interesting! I didn‘t realize there were other ways besides being bitten. 1mo

Just sharing a weird coincidence this month. I recently reread The Lives of Christopher Chant, and as a child Christopher wanders his way into different worlds in his multiverse. He calls them Anywheres. While listening to the tagged today, I came across another character who calls the worlds she travels to in her own multiverse Anywheres! 😮 #Similarities #Coincidence #Multiverse

Thanks to the 51 of us that voted, the #PemberLittens July/August selections have been made!

Our work by Austen will be The Watsons, another of Jane‘s unfinished works. There is a completed version out there that was finished by her niece.

Our Austen retelling is Longbourn by Jo Baker,

And our novel by another female author is Excellent Women by Barbara Pym.

Comment the books you‘d like to be tagged for, and if you want to lead discussion!

sprainedbrain Tagging the group but everyone welcome! 2y

Seeing everyone's posts for their #ThingsInCommon challenge has me thinking about similarities between books I'm reading. I thought I'd share this similarity because it seems so unlikely that I would read two books back to back with this: Jewish escape tunnels. #coincidence

Clare-Dragonfly That makes me want to read Ink and Bone! 3y
Kenyazero @Clare-Dragonfly it's been a fun read so far because of its creative reimagining of libraries and books. It hasn't really had a wow factor for me yet, but that's not necessarily a terrible thing. 3y

My new #bookspin: Freedom - Jonathan Franzen & my new #doublespin: The story of Edgar Sawtelle - David Wroblewski.
Huge books and what a coincidence: They both have 562 pages exactly.
January.

TheAromaofBooks Oh my, that's some serious reading! How funny that they're both the same!! 4y

Very much testimony-driven - which I like - but the analysis, though succinct, is thought-provoking and adds significantly to the book. Life is complex and lots of things happen to us so I suppose we should expect coincidences along the way. Vaughan shows there‘s rather more to it than this, however, and the book is a worthy addition to any bookshelf for the stories alone. Some are, indeed, absolutely incredible.

My mom listed some cute booksleeves on her Etsy store! She‘s got several fabrics and sizes, and they are all lined with soft fleece. I have a HP houses one and one with the sugar skulls. (see them on her site.)

She also has beautiful handmade greeting cards, perfect for #JB or #UKJB #jbuk.

I just love these llamas!

Birdsong28 It's a shame you don't ship to UK as I would have had the Harry Potter one ❤️❤️📚📖 6y
