Bunnicula is a classic for a reason. The story is timeless and is still fresh every time you read it. The newest version is in graphic novel, and the perfect illustrators were picked to take this classic and make it modern for a new generation. There‘s nothing to tell about the story itself as it stands on its own decades after it was published. But it took skilled artists to make that medium visual in a way that‘s entertaining to kids
[Editor's Note] The book you are about to read was brought to my attention in a most unusual way.
(The blurb/quote on the cover, btw., is priceless - Today vegetables... tomorrow the world! 😂🧛🐰🥕)

As they say. Better late than never. My TBR is large as I‘m a mood reader. @OriginalCyn620 @PuddleJumper
I do not know what I expected, but definitely not that. The idea of a vampire bunny that takes over the fridge today and is feared to take over the world tomorrow and then the 🥩 incident. What a book!
I was wondering why I never came across a German translation, but realized that a Schnitzel would not make sense. 🤣
I cannot even. I am laughing so hard, I have to cry. 🥩🧛♂️🥩🧛♂️

So surprised that I didn't read many graphic novels this month! Thats usually my go-to for a palet cleanser.
My #MarchPick for my #BookBracket2024 graphic novel bracket
I was very torn to say Lore Olympus won. But I think it's the length difference that made me make this decision.

So, I loved it! I fell back in love with Bunnicula :)
Anyway, after our Zoom chat yesterday (@AlwaysBeenALoverOfBooks @PageShifter @UWannaPublishMe @Morr_Books) I thought maybe it's time to re-look at LibraryThing. I got an account a while back (can't even remember when) and never got around to using it. After hearing y'all praise it, I thought it was worth a try.

A quick read including the household pets Harold the dog, Chester the cat, and the new addition Bunnicula the bunny. However this is no ordinary bunny and Chester is hellbent on finding out once and for all why this bunny is so strange! Cheeky and spooky!
This book came out in 1979 and surprisingly, it wasn‘t a part of my childhood. Although I‘ve known about it for a long time, I‘ve only just now read it. This book is hilarious! Harold the dog tells the story of how his well-read friend Chester the cat became convinced that the newest member of their family is a vegetable killing vampire. Today, vegetables…tomorrow, the world!
The steak scene had me rolling!
I was actually a bit scared that I wouldn't enjoy this book as much as I did as a kid. I still love it! It is so much fun and put a big smile on my face while listening to it. 💜
The audiobook I had planned on listening to next was not available on Libby right now, so I started searching for a different book to listen to. I am absolutely delighted to discover the first three Bunnicula books are available to listen to. I adored these books when I was in elementary school. Going to start the first one in the morning.
I feel seen. And OLD 😂😳😩😅🤓👵
This series was so fun I still remember them 25 yrs later.

Finished this collection which features Bunnicula, Howliday Inn, and The Celery Stalks At Midnight. Chester is my favorite character. 😆

I remember enjoying the original as a child so it was a treat to revisit the story in this new graphic novel. Really cute.
Beware the hare!

Another childhood memory. This 40th anniversary edition is awesome. Lots of bonuses and the cover is fuzzy! #34-2022
I described this beloved children‘s book about a vampire bunny to a younger co-worker and she looked at me like I was fucking insane.
Take one eager canine narrator, a well-read cat, and a seemingly harmless rabbit who might *actually* be a vampire, and you‘ve got yourself Bunnicula: A Rabbit-Tale of Mystery. The book was published in 1979 as the start of a beloved series… and now it‘s the focus of Episode 177 of my book podcast! The wonderful Lev (L.C.) Rosen joins me for a conversation about vampire lore, animal antics, and more. 🐇 link to listen in my bio!
I absolutely love this book. I've read this book around 3-5 times and enjoyed it more and more each time. The character bunnicula is a good character to the book and so is Harold and Chester. Recommend this book to anybody out there!
And we‘re reading! @kimmypete1 and I are doing #Deweys24HourReadathon together, just waiting on @Cinsarly to join us!
Littens! Today is #Deweys24HourReadathon!!! My stack is quite plump and ridiculous, per usual, but I'm excited! I'm almost done with Death by Pumpkin Spice, and almost halfway through We Were Kings. There's 7 books in the Bunnicula series, but they are quick Middle Grade re-reads, which is something I've wanted to do for awhile. I think I'm two episodes behind in the Strawberry Spring podcast, and YGtNGMiaQEV and Clue are quick reads.

A cute read. Going to send a copy to my niece. #Screamathon @4thhouseontheleft
Here‘s my #notsoscary Vampire book! Doesn‘t that bunny look creepy with those red eyes! My kids read this, but I never did. It was so fun. I love Harold, the dog. He‘s so sweet. #FallIntoReading #NotSoScaryAthon #Scarathon2021 #BFC21 #SpoolOweenReadathon #Frightfall #Screamathon #OctoberReadathon #Scaredy-catRradathon #SpookTober #Wickedathon
Super cute story about a found bunny that may or may not be a vampire... 🧛♂️ Great way to start spooky season!!

I read this when I was a child, and just finished reading it to my 7yo. It features a narrating dog, a mysterious bunny, and a paranoid cat. We giggled a lot because it's only slightly spooky. This only takes a few nights to read, but if you like it, there are several more in the series.
Great for readers 8yo+, people who love pets, and parents who want share a scary story that turns out sweet. #21readaloud #dw2021
My bigger bookworm and I are reading a chapter a night of this goodie. It‘s a wonderful part of the day. We are both loving it.
Bunnicula is such a cute story! I absolutely love anything told from the perspective of an animal so I was all in the moment I realized the dog was relaying the details to the reader. Harold‘s perspective was pitch perfect and I laughed out loud as hilarity ensued! My favorite scene involved a steak and if you‘ve read this book, you‘ll know exactly what I mean. It was hysterical!

Peace has been restored , now both boys have their own copy. I‘m glad they still had some signed ones left this morning
Today I was at Barnes and Noble with one of my boys and got him this signed anniversary edition Bunnicula. My other son is jealous and jokingly threatening to steal it. Looks like I am going to be heading back first thing in the morning to see if any are left. I should add that my boys are 17 and 20 😅
When I saw this copy of Bunnicula on the shelf of the bookstore yesterday, I hesitated before buying it. It wasn‘t that I didn‘t want it. I absolutely wanted it. But do I deserve this gorgeous velvet 40th anniversary edition of the book? Because, well, I‘ve never actually read Bunnicula. It seems like a diehard Bunnicula lover should own this gem, not me. But maybe I WILL fall in love with Bunnicula. And then I will be worthy of this edition!
I‘m relieved this story still holds up over thirty years after having last read it. Sure, as an adult, it‘s not scary in the slightest. It is however cute and I still laughed quite hard during the steak scene! 😂
