Wow, this comic was so messed up! So much death! But you know what, I‘m really glad I already have volume 2 in my stack. I‘m saving the rest of my graphic novels for Sunday, when I‘ll be too tired and hungover to concentrate 😂😂
Book 2 finished for #24b4Monday #Readathon
#teamstoker #scarathlon +11pts (794pts) Finished this around hour 3 of reading.
I know I‘m super late to Locke & Key but I‘m getting all caught up now thanks to hubs! I‘m so ready for the show!!!
Maybe reading this right before bed wasn't my smartest move. Creepy old house, a murder, with ghosts and other ethereal beings. Perfect dreamtime fodder right? I liked it and will read more of the series. Apparently I'm in a graphic novel phase which isn't a bad thing. Joe Hill rarely disappoints.
Been holding off on this for a while. I'm staying in a huge spooky-looking mansion for the week on a course in the Wiltshire countryside (Tedworth House), so thought now would be the perfect time to start this series. And now to sleep with the lights on!
I was excited to finally read a piece done by Joe Hill, for obvious reasons of course, and I'm left wanting to read more of his work. Gabriel Rodriguez's art mixes so perfectly and skillfully with Hill's storytelling. It's creepy and dark. It‘s an intelligently constructed horror story.
New Humble Bundle - Horror Tales.
I'm seriously tempted. But I have a book buying ban.
Day 1 of the #Riotgrams Challenge: reading selfie! Read anywhere, everywhere, every chance you get. ❤️🛀 📚
Joe Hill, post-HEART SHAPED BOX & 20th CENTURY GHOSTS, before he was the brand-name he is now, wrote this graphic novel, first in the series that introduces the Locke family, and their return to Key House after SOMETHING HAPPENS. I am forcing myself not to burn through this series, but this haunted house full of doors and secrets has me hooked!
I came home to open my #blanketandabookexchange package! I'm really excited about the book and the blanket is the prettiest green and really soft. I'll have to hide it from the pooch.
Thanks for the lovely package, @JenlovesJT47! 💕💕💕

Let‘s see who loves Locke & Key by Joe Hill. I just started and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'll be honest. I'm not the biggest fan of Gabriel Rodriguez's illustration style. But aesthetic aside, this book is fantastic. The story has a great flow and is brutal and tragic without being unbearably grim. I love the concept of the keys, all having different abilities and having some sort of fantastical connection to the house.
The villains feel dangerous, the stakes feel real, and I love the characters. A Great fantasy/horror.
Each book this story gets more weird and strange and I love every minute of it. The crew behind this book tries to drown the characters, and then has them attached by shadows. that ‘s right, one of the Keys opens the shadow world where someone can not only control shadows, but become one himself. I love this work and I‘m only 1⁄2 way through.
Everyone say hi to the first of our fur babies, Moonshine!! 😻
The other one is slightly older and still adjusting to her new home, so I'll introduce her once she's out of hiding. 😸
(I 💜d Joe Hill's Locke & Key series, BTW.)
As a fan of Joe Hill, I decided to give this series a try. When their father is murdered, Ty, Kinsey and Bode relocate to Lovecraft, MA, to live in "The Keyhouse." The house is old and mysterious and it is not long before things start happening. Hidden within the house are several keys. Each key opens a door to a magical power. One can change a male to a female and vice versa. One can turn you into a ghost. Etc. This is a very entertaining story.
Favorite series for my fellow #24in48 readers! I ❤️ this comic book series! It doesn't get nearly enough attention. It's beautiful, terrifying, and heartbreaking (it made me ugly cry 😭) all rolled into one amazing story about a family piecing their lives back together after a trauma and dealing with the horrors in their new home, Keyhouse. The series was written by Joe Hill and illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez. The fantasy elements are spot on!
A book and some Sauvignon Blanc on the patio. Had to skip the fancy wine glass outside.
