How to Find Love in a Bookshop
How to Find Love in a Bookshop | Veronica Henry
The enchanting story of a bookshop, its grieving owner, a supportive literary community, and the extraordinary power of books to heal the heart Nightingale Books, nestled on the main street in an idyllic little village, is a dream come true for book loversa cozy haven and welcoming getaway for the literary-minded locals. But owner Emilia Nightingale is struggling to keep the shop open after her beloved fathers death, and the temptation to sell is getting stronger. The property developers are circling, yet Emilia's loyal customers have become like family, and she can't imagine breaking the promise she made to her father to keep the store alive. There's Sarah, owner of the stately Peasebrook Manor, who has used the bookshop as an escape in the past few years, but it now seems theres a very specific reason for all those frequent visits. Next is roguish Jackson, who, after making a complete mess of his marriage, now looks to Emilia for advice on books for the son he misses so much. And the forever shy Thomasina, who runs a pop-up restaurant for two in her tiny cottageshe has a crush on a man she met in the cookbook section, but can hardly dream of working up the courage to admit her true feelings. Enter the world of Nightingale Books for a serving of romance, long-held secrets, and unexpected hopes for the futureand not just within the pages on the shelves. How to Find Love in a Bookshop is the delightful story of Emilia, the unforgettable cast of customers whose lives she has touched, and the books they all cherish.

Oohhhh, if you could put hot chocolate, a warm cookie, fuzzy socks, and a cozy blanket in a book, this would be it. It‘s a wonderful cast of customers at Nightingale Books. ...I would recommend this for anyone who loved the setting for the Bookish Life of Nina Hill.

Look what I have - my first Litsy delivery- I‘m so happy! Thank you @wanderinglynn ! This book will be so much fun to read in between my mysteries and thrillers in October. If I have to stop reading, I‘ve this lovely bookmark! And if this book has a pile of characters, I now have a much desired blank journal for mapping them out. The kitchen magnet notepad - oh yes!

#BFCr3 and can‘t wait for r4!

Great bookstore but made me way too claustrophobic! Picked up this cute book of poems. I wonder who Lynne is? Is she still with Clyde? Why did she sell the book he gave her?!

This is such a warm-hearted story, it‘s like a hug in book form. Emilia inherits a bookstore when her father passes away, and she discovers that books can touch, and change, peoples lives. It‘s sweet, but does have rather a lot of characters. It‘s a bit like the film Love, Actually, with so many different stories happening, so you never really feel properly invested in any of the characters. But it‘s nice when for when you want to escape

A woman inherits her fathers book shop after he passes. She learns about the regulars, her father‘s past, and herself. Also, as the title suggests, people fall in love.

This was a very fun read for me. I loved how it was told from so many perspectives. It reminded me why I love books so much. I was so excited as I got to the end of the story. This book is a must read for anyone who needs a reminder of the joy books can bring.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I found this book, frankly, adorable! There are a lot of disparate plot lines, which sometimes annoys me in novels...and I do wish some of the stories had gotten a little bit more fleshed out...but overall, it‘s just very charming and sweet! The perfect way to end day one of the #24in48 readathon.

I admit I was more drawn to the glorious blue coloured bookshop cover than the story itself..however it was a charming little holiday read. And no, The Cotswolds is not really that idyllic

Do love a book about books though!

YOU GUYS THIS BOOK 😍 Definitely a must read. It started out a little slow and slightly confusing because there were so many characters and it went back and forth from present to past a couple of times but it quickly picked up speed and became really good! The characters are so lovable and just a great book about helping others and the power of a community coming together ❤️

So cute!! Definitely a recommend to anyone! 💙 I don‘t read “ romance” books. Cheesy titles or covers throw me off. However it is not so with this book! At every sitting I felt I was curled up by the fire with a cup of hot tea. Simple but fun storytelling and very enjoyable !

I am enjoying the tagged book immensely. I usually don‘t read romances but this book is basically like sitting with a warm cup of tea or cocoa by the fire at every reading. 💙Recently found I like taking a break from my Nonfiction/ Fantasy/ Teen/ middle grade Reads and simply enjoying a short and sweet romance. Bought the two books above to have another couple choices available on my TBR shelf when the mood arises!

First book read for the #Booked2019 challenge!

This was everything I didn‘t know I needed. It reminded me of coming home in the snow to a fireplace and feeling warmed from the outside to the inside. I just loved this so much.

First book of the #Booked2019 reading challenge!

Going a bit out of order with the prompts but this one is geared towards my happy place (prompt 3).

My first happy place is the ocean but I‘m trying to read more of the books I‘ve bought instead of buying more! My 2nd happy place is a bookstore so I thought this would be perfect!

I really need to stop reading books about people owning bookstores because I know I‘ll never be able to own my own bookstore and it depresses me. 😭

With that being said, this book is a delight and I loved all of the characters in the quaint English town, with the bookstore playing a pivotal role in all of their lives. If you‘re a sucker for a happy ending (spoiler alert: I am), this book is for you! 💕

First book completed for #24B4Monday! 🙌🏻

I have some Litsy catching up to do following a weekend work trip followed by a crazy cascade of projects & meetings upon return. So, please bear with me as I try to reconstruct my reading of the last few days.

I liked the interconnecting storylines, and I liked the main character more than the one in The Bookshop of Yesterdays (if I'm thinking of the right book). Overall, there were more sweet characters than jerks. A light read. [read 11/7-8]

So sad: I didn't fall-head-over-heels-in-love with this book. I thought it would be a sure thing. ? I honestly almost bailed because it was failing my "hook me by page 100" rule. I'll leave it with a so-so rating and move on to the next book in my stack.

I‘ve been in a bit of a reading slump, only able to settle down to comfort reads. This was a good one to break the slump. It‘s sad but sweet. I only wish each characters story was explored a bit more. I would have liked to follow along a little further. Maybe there will be a sequel?
