I really enjoyed this looking forward to making my way through the rest of the series

We are finally getting to Maia‘s story, and I‘m interested. I walked alone today, so I got to listen to my book. I‘ll miss the river walks when I go back home, but I‘ve got the bay there. #audiowalk
This started out slow to me, but now I‘m getting into it. #audiowalk by the river.
1️⃣8️⃣ one of the best books I‘ve read this year, now I want to visit Brazil! This is a series and I‘ve already started book 2.
While not a #roadtrip in perhaps the traditional sense, each sister in this series takes a journey to discover her heritage (and herself). I've only read the first one but enjoyed it very much.

Darn it, now I have to read the rest of these. Sisters adopted by PaSalt, named after the mythological Seven Sisters of the Pleiades. Historical, mythology, family, secrets. In this one you go to Brazil and the history of Christ the Redeemer is fascinating. Good read.
This started well, but now I‘m into the “historical section”, I‘m 45% of the way through overall and it is drraaggggiinnngggg. Has anyone read this and can advise if it does pick up? I‘m hoping the story switches out of this historical chunk soon.
1. I'd love to see Switzerland & Norway after I've read the Seven Sisters series
2. Definitely recommending The Shadow Sister 😍
3. Just started The Words of Raidiance

In honour of the last book being released, I'm re-reading The Seven Sisters series. It's one of my all time favourite series. I can't wait to get to the last one 🤩
4½✨
I was really surprised at how much I loved this book. Especially considering that it's a genre I usually avoid, and not something I would have ever brought for myself. But my mother-in-law (not a reader) heard everyone talking about the books and decided to get me the first 3 for my birthday.
Let's just say I am very grateful to her at this moment. This is such a touching, raw story. Told in such a compelling way.
1. Can‘t think of one right now
2. My friend at her Father‘s Day dinner dressed as her dad.

Finally had the time to gather my thoughts about last year's reading. So @Tove_Reads here are my 5 star picks for the year 2021. This was really fun! Thank you for the tag! 😊👍📚
#TBRPile 📚 “I will always remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard that my father had died.”
This was so much fun! I totally see why all the hype. Even though I've read a lot of books. This one kept surprising me with the plotwists. 😍
Thanks for the tag @TheRiehlDeal !
#thoughtfulthursday @MoonWitch94
1 if the plot is strong enough, the narrator isnt as important to me
2 my kindle
3 the tagged series is so good, I'm going to read the final one in December. Sadly Lucinda Riley passed away.
Wanna play @SamanthaMarie @TheLudicReader @Ash.on.the.line @AmyK1 @SaturnDoo ?
Woo hoo! I‘m double vaccinated so I‘m allowed to go op shopping again. The op shops are full of wondrous things thanks to everyone cleaning out their houses during lockdown. This lot cost me $92.50. My sister is newly pregnant shh so I‘ve unleashed my shopping beast & she is buying baby clothes big time. I also scored a few dresses for me & 1 for my big girl who hates dresses but I make her wear them when we go out on the town. I ❤️ bath products!
Whew. This was a chunkster, and though it was a relatively easy read, I found the first section of Bel‘s life dragged. And it was sad and dispiriting to think of how little has changed for women in so much of the world. But I loved the historical aspect of the book, and the middle sections picked up. I guess I‘m hooked; I have The Storm Sister on hold! #OutstandingOctober
This book has been on MANY a bingo card. Finally crossed off!
I‘m in! I‘ve FINALLY started the tagged book. I‘ve had it checked out from the library numerous times, only to return it due to holds. It‘s due back the 19th, so Goal no 1 is to finish it.
Goals 2 and 3: #Bookspin & #DoubleSpin.
Bonus Goal: Finish five books total.
Longshot goal: Bingo!
@Andrew65
I'm sorry but this book is as interesting as reading about the spice girls characters. All are stereotype and without personality. The story goes from nothing to nowhere.
A soft pick. This really dipped in the middle for me and I nearly bailed but it was so easy to read and I love a sweeping historical read. Occasionally, it felt soapy but it was overall a comforting read so I‘ll read the next one in the series. 😉
This is tragic news, she is one of my go to authors😢 @Andrew65

Sad news 😢 I know there are a lot of fans on here.
I thoroughly enjoyed this dual timeframe story and was completely immersed in the characters‘ lives. I found both timelines equally as engrossing but I did love the history behind the building of the famous monument, Christ the Redeemer. Historical fact and fiction are blended beautifully. The descriptions of Geneva and Rio are very vivid, it made me want to visit both places. A wonderfully engaging and absorbing read. Double thumbs up from me!
This was not the kind of book I‘d have chosen on my own. I used to be a big series reader. Not so much anymore. The history of the building of the Cristo was very interesting. I‘m intrigued at the mystery and curious about the origins of the other sisters. I may have to keep reading the series to find out!
#Pigeonhole. Here starts my journey on this series which I‘ve heard so much about.
I‘m so happy with my #litsylovespringswap #llss from @Jadams1776 ! @Butterfinger had recommended the tagged book to me and it looks brilliant so I‘m very excited you got books from my tbr!! But as you know, it‘s the Tervis cup that‘s the bomb! My baby yoda!! Drink from it every day, I will, with the lovely black tea you sent. Thanks for the lovely bookmarks too! But I still laugh that I bought you the same notecards you already have! 😊

Day 8: South America
This book is mostly set in Brazil.
I loved this book!
My last of January and third and final book of #Brazil for #FoodAndLit
Told in two time lines, the seven sisters tells the story of Maia, who is looking for her biological family after her adoptive father dies, leaving her and her five sisters with clues to their pasts. The clues lead her to Rio and to Isabella‘s story.
Beautiful writing and an intriguing premise. I will probably read the next for Norway in May 🤣
👇🏻
Ordered some Brazilian food for #FoodAndLit and tried a bit of everything!
There are Coxinhas (chicken croquettes), Pao de Queijo (cheese bread), Brazilian smoked sausage, Feijoada, BBQ chicken with Portuguese piri piri sauce, and chicken hearts.
We preferred the Feijoada we made at home. This one had beef whereas ours was just pork and tasted meatier 🤣 And I was the only one brave enough to try the hearts!
#Brazil
I finished another one this morning. I listened to 3+ hours yesterday and 2+ hours this morning of the 18-hour audiobook to finish. The narrator was quite good and I loved the dual timeline. It had wonderful love stories as well as mysteries that were not all solved at the end (leading into the next book). Family is everything. On to book 2. #BookSpinBingo #BFC21 #JUMPSTART2021 #SERIES2021 #Slumpathon #JoyousJanuary
I love a good historical fiction that teaches as well as entertains. As the Christ the Redeemer is being built, a romance brews between the sculptor's assistant and the local rich girl. The romance was okay, but I was fascinated by the history of the gigantic Savior who looks over the impoverished favelas and the Copacabana crowd. #FoodandLit (1/5) @Texreader #PopSugar21 -like to visit in 2021 $4.57 @dariazeoli #SeriesRead - Book 1 @TheSpineView
In the other direction, some distance away on a mountainside, was a favela, a slum village whose penniless inhabitants had built shelters from whatever they could scavenge. If she listened carefully, on the breeze she could hear the faint sounds of the SURDO drums the slum dwellers played night and day, dancing the samba, the music of the hills, to forget the misery of their lives.
I hope everyone is enjoying the first month of #FoodandLit. I am
"And what do you think is a true Brazilian? There is no such thing... The only'real' Brazilians were the original NATIVOS that the Portuguese began murdering after they arrived here five hundred years ago, claiming the riches of our country for themselves. And many more who didn't die a bloody death succumbed to the diseases the settlers brought with them... There is no such thing as a pure bloodline in Brazil."
#FoodandLit @Texreader
I don't know if I once knew this or this is new information, but Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) is one of the new modern Seven
Wonders. I have always thought it beautiful.

I started this book a few weeks ago but put it down for a bit - just realized a lot of it takes place in Brazil! So I‘m ahead of the game for #foodandlit
And to think I only picked it up because I liked the premise of the series! @Texreader @Butterfinger
First in a series about sisters who‘s father dies and suddenly they can learn about their past. This book takes one sister to rio. I loved the historical stuff but wasn‘t very moved by the sisters in the present day.
Day 6 #Top20Series #20Series20Days
Today it‘s the wonderful Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley. I love this series and can‘t wait for the last book in the series to find out about the seventh sister! Such wonderful lead female characters in these books, and love the story from the past in each book. The Storm Sister was my favourite and led to so many tears!

This series is so #evocative for me. I‘m always transported to the times and places where each one is set. #beautifulwords
Read it in less than a week. Can't wait to read the rest. Loved the alternating stories that moved from one era to another, tying the family story together.
Another cracking Lucinda Riley. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Has everything glorious! art, history, architecture, travel, passion and samba! Spanning centuries and continents from legendary bohemian Montmartre, Paris to modern day sizzling Rio. Recommended by one of my sisters and costing the rest of us a fortune buying all of series 😂 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
