It‘s #AudioAssembly time! 🖤
Listening to Terry Pratchett while I try to put this bread box together was not a great idea. I kept giggling and dropping the screws.
#Discworld
Really enjoyed my reread. The audio is fantastic. The jingle for the footnotes worked really well, the story held up and I am looking forward to the discussion next month.
What # are we using for this read? Is there an easy way to tag everyone?
Just a friendly reminder that we are setting off on the second round around the #Discworld today with #Sourcery.
Looking forward to our discussion next month!
PS: this book might work for some of the #52bookclub24 bonus prompts for April - I'm definitely using it for "desert you"

We meet Rincewind again—a wizard who doesn‘t really do magic. Together with Conina, daughter of Cohen (who doesn‘t want to be a barbarian, even if she can‘t help it), and Nijel the Destroyer (who'd really want to be one), they‘re going to save the world from a little kid with a nasty stick.
“Talent just defines what you do,” he said. “It doesn‘t define what you are. Deep down, I mean. When you know what you are, you can do anything.”
4.0/5
Still making my way through Pratchett's books. Still enjoying them.
And yes, I did get an OFMD depression robe. Nothing has ever made me happier.
⭐⭐⭐
This is my least favorite Discworld book of the 9 or 10 I've read so far. It was simultaneously drawn out and unfinished.

Discworld is such a fantastically written series that is so in depth, every book adds a fantastic layer of detail
Not my fave Discworld book and definitely not a memorable addition to the series. Lots of trademark Pratchett humour but it lacked a lot of the satirical insights of his other books. Also, Rincewind is just not one of my favorite characters. However, it‘s really cool to see Pratchett develop as a writer through this series, and I love seeing the Discworld evolve and grow into the fantastic series I‘ve enjoyed for years.
These are always very funny. I love the Luggage. I have read them all out of order and it doesn't really matter. The sad part is there will never be any new ones.

Book 33
Absolute power corrupts absolutely, especially in the hands of a child.
I like this book the 8th son of an 8th son is no mere wizard.
This whole mindset makes me wonder if there's any truth to the magic in the sphere world around the 7th son of a 7th son. My husband is the 7th child and a son (though he has 3 brothers and 3 step sisters so it probably doesn't count) not that it would matter anyway since we only have 3 daughters.
I think a prolonged break from Rincewind is in order...this book got quite a few chuckles out of me but I think it went a bit too off the rails even by usual Discworld standards. a shame, since I rather liked Conina and some of the stuff with Al Khali, but it didn't feel like this book knew where it was going.
Quiet morning with a mug of tea and my #booked2020 choice for #makesyouLOL because Pratchett generally hits the button for me.

it's always a reason for celebration when discworld books show up at my usual #halfpricebooks stomping grounds.
Just as expected I'm starting to find Rincewind tiresome. I found it interesting that Lord Vetinari made his first appearance. Coming up: a reunion with Granny, yay.
I feel like Pratchett took a hodgepodge of ideas and scenes from his previous 4 books and smooshed them together to make this book. It's not bad but it doesn't really bring anything new to the series. But even if it's not Pratchett's best it was still amusing and I liked the characters.
Finished up Sourcery on the way back from Olympic today, and even my good mood from all the mountains and hiking couldn't make me enjoy it. The book started out beautifully, lots of humor, an interesting antagonist, but the middle went downhill. Two- dimensional supporting characters, predictable plot, and one of those "forget it ever happened" endings. Ugh! I gave it a so-so because the first half really was funny.

Need some light reading for the car rides in between hikes. This is Mt Rainier, seen from Tolmie Peak. I've never been to the northwest before, it's so lush and green!

Because sometimes you just need to make the time for some Terry Pratchett. 😊
One of the many reasons I love Terry Pratchett‘s writing and the Discworld series in particular. Death is such an amazing character!
A bit of lighthearted lunchtime reading. :) What are some@of your favorite light reads?
I enjoyed parts of this book, especially the bit with the lamp and the wayward nature of inspiration but there was a distance between myself and the characters and the plot that kept me from really loving this book. A light and easy read.
#25inFive I woke up earlier than I needed to again today. Spent a couple hours reading before getting up for work. I had yesterday off which would have been great for reading but I couldn‘t focus well so I got a lot of little chores and errands done. Which was great actually. This book isn‘t captivating me much but I am hoping Weatherwax is featured in the next in the series.
So far I‘ve read 14 1/2 hours.
Well I am one lucky litten!!!! Thank you so much @Caroline2 🧡🖤💜💚 One picture cannot contain all the awesome, spellbinding goodness of my #WitchPleaseSwap but I've been travelling all day today so a proper look over my treasures will have to wait til I've slept!
@monalyisha
Rincewind is hilarious as always, loved Luggage, the new barbarian heroes, and honestly 4 Drunken Horsemen of the Apoca...what was it again? What‘s not to love about this installment, except maybe the tiny itty bitty cliffhanger bit, oh well, guess I better just keep reading!😉

Books are dangerous, there‘s always more than you think beneath the surface! 🤓
🤪Just the right tone I needed in between sections of my nonfiction about Trump.
In between my non-fiction reading, I‘m up to the next Pratchett in my attempt to catch-up with the #OokBOokClub 👍
I'm not saying Rincewind is a #StupidMan but he certainly isn't the brightest wizard on the Discworld.

The Librarian as trauma surgeon. 😢 I couldn‘t help but think of you when I read this passage, Moray—he really is the perfect mascot for you!

I sorta finished this for the #Ookbookclub read along. I can‘t say that I liked this one as much as the others. Favorite characters remain the Librarian, the Luggage and Death. I think I‘m tired of Rincewind. I‘m ready for something different.
To be fair, I've only read one book by Terry Pratchett, but from just that one I can tell he is my favorite #fantasy author. An article in the Guardian said his favorite book of the last 10 years (2010) was A Short History of Nearly Everything. Not my favorite book, but Bryson is one of my favorites too!
