New Years Day - and we‘ve got the Sherlock game out trying to solve the case of the cryptic corpse! Meanwhile the fire has put the rest of the household to sleep!
What happens when you love murder mystery books and jigsaw puzzles??... your son buys you a challenging puzzle that requires you to read a mystery story, assemble the jigsaw to find clues and ultimately solve the mystery 🧐
#mystery #puzzle
I fell down the fandom side of Instagram last night - and it really just reminded me of how good Sherlock was before the wheels fell off.
I suspect the kind of game you need to have grown up together to play 🤣
It is the end of the semester, so that means while grading, I‘ve been watching a lot of PBS passport shows. I was obviously seduced by this title, since I am always and eternally a Sherlock Holmes fan. I‘ve been trying to listen to The Beekeepers Apprentice, but doesn‘t live up to my fond memories. #sherlock #pbs #documentary
I'm a little behind. I'll play catch-up.
The Sherlock Holmes stories come to mind for me. I'm just thinking of the stories by Doyle, but I'm sure the books written by other people apply as well.
In the stories mental clarity and breakthroughs are an important part of solving the mystery. Holmes is usually successful.

At the National Portrait Gallery with one of my favourite Sherlocks. What‘s your favourite??
(Excuse the terrible photo!)
Of you're in the UK - check your wallets! These lovely 50p pieces are in circulation at the moment - a series of Paddington on location (on mine he's at the Tower of London!) and a series of quotes from Sherlock!
Last night in our seaside holiday cottage. There‘s a wind raging outside but we‘re cosy and warm and trying to solve the case of the Mysterious Murderer. It might take a while! 🤣
Fab games night tonight with this new game - you get a map, directory, access to experts and a whole book of clues and you work as a team to try to solve a crime. It was a fab game for 2 as you work together and puzzle it out! Box comes with 10 stories to solve - it took us the whole night to do the first one!
Looks like the perfect place to spend a night curled up reading Sherlock!

Just found this virtual race app today and discovering all the literary themed ones. This could be a fun idea for the litens doing the fitness thing.
@julesG aren‘t you part of that group? I‘ve got a couple of them. Feel free to tag people if you want.
This shop is usually open when I walk past - I‘ve never seen it shuttered ! 👏🏻
I stumbled across this on Twitter and had to share here! Tag me @WorldsOkayeststepmom and use #SherlockStory so I can read yours too!
Mine is The Murder of the Part-time Selfie 😂😂

Good list of all things Sherlock for 2019!

So l finished The Return of Sherlock Holmes with a couple days to spare.
I really enjoyed it, a lot more than l expected.
The popular understanding is that Holmes is a cold thinker and kind of an asocial human being. This is not the case in the original stories. He often sympatises with the victims, has a sense of humour, he sometimes follows his instinct. And he follows his personal moral code rather than any imposed one.
#Sherlocked
This one started out a bit on the down side for me, since l wasn't really interested in an internationsl affari that was actually very vague.
But then the story turned as usual to the people, the characters and their desires.
I ended up really liking it. Once again, Holmes followed his conscience rather than the 'common' thought.
#Sherlocked
Really enjoyed this one. Not a lot of mystery and deduction, but a lot of action, which was unusual.
Some great characters too. I loved the interchange between Holmes and Watson before their night adventure.
#Sherlocked
I really really liked this one. Holmes's game of logic was tight and l didn't expect that ending at all. I liked the characters too.
I listened to this one and unfortunately the reader wasn't very good. But well...

Reading is getting back to busy 😆
#currentlyreading
This first adventure of the Return of Sherlock Holmes was fun. Not much of a mystery, besides, as it can be expected, it was mostly about how Holmes survived to his last adventure.
i really liked the dynamics between Holmes and Watson, and l found Holmes's surprise at Watson strong reaction to his reappearance endearing.
Holmes is a very different character from what l expected him to be based on adaptations.

1. I read A Study in Scarlett as a kid, and didn't particularly enjoyed it (l was probably too young). Then last year l read along a few of the story with #Sherlocked but dropped out when the group slowly stopped reading. But l discovered l really like Sherlock Holmes
2. I'm reading on #SerialReader but l do own an omnibus. Have to dig it out from wherever it is
3. I really liked The Greek lnterpreter last year. Loved Mycroft.
Hi @wanderinglynn . I am your partner for #conandoyleswap. 😉👍
Just added the stories from Return of Sherlock Holmes to Serial Reader. The Adventure of the Dancing Men, Solitary Cyclist, Six Napoleons and more!

Had to think about that, just saw the TV adaption with Jeremy Brett yesterday. 😍

Wenn man eigentlich Fernsehen (Dr. House) gucken will und doch wieder an Bücher erinnert wird. 😍
I only wanted to watch TV (Dr. House) but the books caught me up. 😍
My favourite S & M..Sherlock and Molly. Yes, I'm a huge nerd...what tipped you off? Missed a couple of days due to some internet connection problems but I have to be around for the big finish. #booklove2017
#RiotGrams bookish goods. #SherlockHolmes #Sherlocksocks #Sherlockshirt #Sherlock🐶 Yeah, I love Sherlock Holmes just a bit. 😜
House and Wilson are my #favnonromanticcouple #booklove17 @LibrarianRyan
I'm sorry but I'm pretty impressed with myself at the moment....loving how this pic turned out for #BeatTheBacklist and I wanted to share it with you littens xxx
Curious who will be at this showing, since you could watch it free on PBS last night. You need to (a) love Sherlock enough to pay to see it on the big screen, but (b) not care enough to see it when it is first available.
Will everyone be here to see it a second time, or will it be people like me who are too busy to be good nerds?
Thoughts after watching Sherlock: The Lying Detective
I get it... the theme of Sherlock series 4 is invisibility and underestimation of women in male centric narratives. And once again Moffat punches us in the face with "hidden in plain sight" storytelling.
-The Abominable Bride(s)
-The Secretary/Amo
-Mary's Ghost
-Mrs. Hudson
-The Woman (Irene Adler)
-Euros
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me watching John Watson f--k everything up.
He's back!!!!! Rocking the pizza and hangovers with my housemates and friends sooooo excited 😊 🙂😍😍😍😍😍
This little guy is my #readingcompanion. I adore Sherlock, and having this cutie on my bookshelf always reminds me to dig deeper into what I'm reading. #photoadaynov16
