Meh. The interesting parts of this story were way too bogged down in Verne's need to try to make everything scientifically plausible with lengthy technical details. I appreciate his importance as a sci-fi author, but I can't say I particularly enjoyed this one.

NOTHING HAPPENS IN THIS BOOK!! It felt like reading 360 pages of Verne going “look at all the stuff I know about fish and the sea and ships and stuff”, and it was boring. And then Verne spends less than 5 pages on the ending, with so much left unresolved 🙄🙄

I tried. I really did. Every time I sit down to read it, I think of all the other books I want to be reading instead so I'm going to go read those books 😉 I'm just not into science and I think that's my problem with this one. Maybe I'll come back to it one day.
