I really need to buy my own copy of this one
My first #MtCookbook recipe for this year is this delicious cross between a coffee cake and sweet cornbread from The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook. Usually I‘m not a fan of sweet cornbread, but in this case it adds complexity to the coffee cake. Additionally, I switched the blueberries for blackberries and the lemon zest for orange because on snowy subzero weekends I bake with what is available. It was delicious for breakfast this morning!

I hear these are Santa‘s favorite Chocolate Chunk cookies… 🎄✨🍪

New Smitten Kitchen cookbook coming soon!
I love her website and usually buy the books in support. I haven‘t cooked enough from the second one, but I‘ll probably pre-order this one anyway!
Her 1st cookbook is tagged here for anyone interested. I couldn‘t find the new one in the database yet!
It‘s reassuring at the moment to see fruits and vegetables keeping pace with their season - a surprising calming assurance that the world will heal. Today - celebrating what feels like the beginning of summer with a strawberry sheet cake. (love this book and her blog!)
Making my favorite fried chicken cutlets from this cookbook and listening to The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith! Perfect Sunday
My #audiobaking efforts are out of the oven and smelling amazing! Recipe from the Smitten Kitchen blog.
I hosted my in-laws for Mother‘s Day brunch today and made this ridiculously rich spinach and cheese strata from the Smitten Kitchen website. It was *chef‘s kiss* delicious and the best part was making it the day before and just popping it in the oven for an hour before serving. Happy Mother‘s Day to all the mom littens out there!
I have never gotten a digital version of a cookbook before. But this was great! I have read a lot of smitten kitchen online and I love how deb cooks. It‘s often veggie friendly and easy to follow.
Just put dinner in the oven so I can get back to reading! Hoping to wrap up my 2nd book soon.
On the plate: Smitten Kitchen‘s ratatouille sub, from the tagged book.

When you‘re a cat that can sleep anywhere I guess a stack of four hardcovers makes some sort of sense. 🤷🏼♀️#catsoflitsy #sullivancat
The Tarte Soleil (from Smitten Kitchen online) turned out very well yesterday. https://smittenkitchen.com/2015/12/feta-tapenade-tarte-soleil/
This book coming off my shelf today means that my home is delightfully scented by cranberry bars baking in the oven...
Ok friends, I need some advice. Now that I have a house & some free time, I'd like to a.) up my cooking game, and b.) buy some cookbooks to have on hand. Hit me with the titles you like & use regularly-- I want to make an investment I'll keep using. No food concerns/allergies here, but I'm not big on cooking meat & I'm particularly interested in starting to bake bread. I'll probably test-drive selections from the library, so where should I start?
Here's the spread from my son's fourth birthday party today: pulled pork in the crock pot with Martin's potato rolls, caprese salad with kosher salt and good olive oil, mixed greens salad with candied-spiced walnuts and Gorgonzola, two kinds of vinaigrette, and lots of fresh fruit. A good time was had by all.
"I'm just here for the blueberry cake..."
#rightnow I'm baking a blueberry crumb cake while listening to Sisterland - to lure my friend to come over later. She's a teacher and went back to work this week. She lives alone and let's face it - we all need to talk and vent about how our day was with someone - and I love hearing her back to school school stories 😀#augustgrrrl

These are my all-time favorite cookbooks and cookbook authors for today's #riotgrams. I cook dinner for us most nights, and many come from these cookbooks.
Deb Perelman came to the office for an author lunch and she is so sweet, humble, and personable. I am now so inspired to try out some of her recipes from her new cookbook!! #TeamPRH #SmittenKitchen #Delicious #cookbooks
Snow day Gnocchi!! I'm not a big cook book guy but Smitten Kitchen hasn't let me down.
Not from her cookbook but from her email newsletter. Chocolate - red wine cake. I just had to make it for Mr BFR who is now off the painkillers. The cake was so good I had finished my piece before remembering to photograph it.
Not from her cookbook but from her website. Popcorn party mix. Hope we can avoid eating it all so I can fill a bowl or two on Saturday night for our annual New Year's Eve dinner / party. This is how o spent my afternoon.
Tonight's dessert: vanilla roasted pears (they make their own caramel while they roast) with ice cream.
I love Deb and her smitten kitchen. Her blog is fabulous, as is her cookbook (popcorn cookies anyone?) Recipe for the pears is below and honestly, it's the best winter treat I could think of.

Making some sides and pumpkin cheesecake in preparation for tomorrow from my favourite cookbook & blog Smitten Kitchen by Deb Perelman. I've been following her for years and was so excited when the book came out! She has almost all of her recipes on her website, which has about 10 years of a back catalog so TONS to check out. Definitely recommended. 😍 🦃 #cookbooklove
My #cookbooklove for #photoadayNov16 is the Smitten Kitchen, which sadly I didn't make anything from. Yet.
It's so *pretty* though, and inspiring, and someday I'll start cooking again.

Some of my favorite cookbooks for #cookbooklove. I used to try new recipes all the time and have fallen out of the habit. Maybe I need to bring this back for 2017! #photoadaynov2016
First night home after our travels and I had to make some of our favorite mushroom bourguignon 🍄🙌🏻. Served over creamy parmesan polenta. A new spin on the French classic. It's a warm and comforting dish, and a huge hit at dinner parties as well! Hopefully this helps fight off my jetlag!
Oh, also this cookbook and blog are very dear to my heart. Deb never fails me. Any other Smitten Kitchen devotees out there? What's your favorite SK recipe!?
The nannykids have given me some sort of infectious death crud, so all I can do is lie in bed and fantasize about what I will eat when food will remain in my tummy. #readingsnacks #booktober
I'm desperate to find a perfect ooey, gooey, spicy oatmeal raisin cookie recipe. Naturally, I started with Smitten Kitchen because I love her recipes. These were good, but not truly gooey enough. Anyone have other #cookbook recs to check out for another option?
Read this for my first library cookbook book club meeting. The rugelach were a hit. The meeting was very fun and resulted in 10 different recipes tried. Favorite main dish was the holiday brisket! Yummy!
Made the Tres Leches Rice Pudding. Delicious! (But I held back on the condensed milk). Pretty sure I'm gonna have to buy this book.
Reading this for the inaugural Cookbook Book Club at my library. So far I'm really digging it. She's got a great way of talking about cooking. (Photo taken in my kitchen: our shelf of oddities, not all kitchen-related.)
Attempting to find an easy recipe for my book club meeting. Our latest book is Smitten Kitchen (the shining was rejected).
If you like her blog, you'll love this book! The pictures are gorgeous and the recipes are delicious, which makes this a great cookbook. Mmm, lemon bars 🍋😍👌🏼
