YOU GUYS!!! This is a thing! It‘s a little kit you get and you make your very own little bookstore!!!!!!! It‘s about 7 x 9 x 7 inches completed. I‘ve asked for this from my husband for Christmas, so hopefully he comes through. 🤞🏼 How cute is this!?!?!

A trip to Portland, Oregon ALWAYS includes a stop at Powell‘s, my favorite bookstore. I was there with one of my sisters, a voracious reader with definite opinions on what she reads. I picked up a used copy of something and wrote out a list of another two dozen “to read” titles. I don‘t have suitcase space to lug home books this time, but it‘s always great to browse. I hope I can manage another visit today.

New-to-me books have been bought this afternoon!! A great end to a long and tiring Thursday.

Festival we travelled to was cancelled so we detoured to this book shop. Not sure if in North or South Carolina as we are staying near the border and travel over it most days. However great place for new and used books and other “ stuff”. It is huge compared to ones at home. A bit overwhelming for me. My suitcases aren‘t big enough!!

This book is a warm hug for bibliophiles. All the stars.

Bookstore #2 on my adventure! It feels so familiar and perfectly New England. Also out of my way but is surrounded by many other small businesses providing opportunities to shop/eat local. Highly recommend for anyone else in Western CT. 😄

Beautiful bookstore #1 from yesterday‘s adventure. This is the one in “Stars Hollow”. It‘s over an hour drive for me but I‘ll happily visit again. It‘s a wonderful place to hang out and the booksellers were kind and curious.

I bought the tagged book while I was there!

Went to brunch early this afternoon and then to two used bookstores! Not a bad way to spend a Sunday! 😁📚💕

Today is my last day working in my store. I‘ve been here almost three years, and it‘s become a second home to me. My fiancé was offered a teaching position, and we are moving to Alabama next week. I will miss being surrounded by books, my coworkers, and this second home of mine.

I have to travel almost 2 hours to get to my favorite indie #bookstore - Prairie Lights in Iowa City - so I don‘t get there in person all that often. Luckily, I‘m able to support them (while also supporting my audiobook habit) with Libro.fm 😃

Another bookstore visited from this book. Went to Carmichael‘s in Louisville Kentucky. It is a very tiny bookstore. But extremely quaint. There is a coffee shop next-door. The booksellers were telling one of the patrons that coffee shop is closing and they will be taking over the space to expand. Who doesn‘t love it when a bookstore gets bigger. Purchased a few popular books here.

A few more bookstores visited on this road trip. One of them was Left Bank Books in St. Louis. Found some books for my book club later this year… Hurrah. Very cute independent bookstore. Lots of used books downstairs. Very happening neighborhood. Lots of restaurants. Some very fancy private homes and private streets are near there also.

Goal is to visit as many of these bookstores as I can. This past weekend, on a road trip, I visited Watermark Books in Wichita Kansas. Well to be honest, I stood outside because it was Sunday and it was closed. I took some pictures. I‘m counting this as a visit. I really wish I could‘ve gone inside; it looks beautiful. It was in a beautiful location.

We are having a little family staycation that starts today. Where did my kids request to go? Our favorite bookstore/coffee shop of course! It‘s mildly torturous not buying books, but I still just love it here.

I attended a local handmade fair this evening featuring tons of creative local artisans and while I was there I won a gift card & T-shirt from our local independent bookstore as well as a bag of locally made coffee & chocolate from my favorite cafe!! Books, coffee, & chocolate. What more could I possibly ask for??! 😍🙌🎉

Subterranean Books in St. Louis is one of my favorite bookstores. Maybe it‘s the dog that greets you there! I actually spend way more time at Barnes and Noble but this place is just special! And congratulations again!!!

Congrats on your milestone @vivastory ! I enjoy my small local indie, but Powell‘s is my true love. I first visited Powell‘s when I was considering a move to Oregon 9 years ago and am now well versed in both the City of Books and Cedar Hills locations after living here for 8 years. I‘m about 90 minutes from #Powells, which is a safe distance to avoid bankruptcy. 😬

I chose two bookstores that are far away from me (but luckily, one of my favourite things in life is “bookstore tourism” 😆). The Alabama Booksmith sells only signed, first editions (at cover price mostly, but they do have a “Collector‘s Corner”). And I‘ve never been to Powell‘s. 😮
