The Midnight Palace | Carlos Ruiz Zafon

Pickpick

This is one of CRZ's lesser-known books, a YA novel about a group of teenagers about to age out of their orphanage. Set in Calcutta in the 1930s, Ben & Sheere are fighting against an evil that has waited sixteen years to exact on their family. I like that their friends have distinct personalities, but the story isn't bogged down with more info than we need for an effective story.. This had a little less of the beautiful prose I expect from CRZ, ⬇️

Cinfhen Yay! Lots of challenges 🤩 2y
Soubhiville Sounds really interesting. 2y
TheAromaofBooks Great progress!! 2y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Great pick! And all those prompts! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻 2y

La Ciudad de Vapor | Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Carlos Ruiz
post image

A posthumous story collection. Zafon conceived this work as a recognition of his readers who had followed him along the saga begun with The Shadow of the Wind.
The echo of the great characters and motives of the Cemetery of Forgotten Books novels resonates in theses stories by Carlos Ruiz Zafón –gathered together for the first time, and some of them unpublished so far– turning on the magic of the narrator who made us dream like nobody else.

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I love that it releases during Zafon's month for #authoramonth #AAMCRZ @Soubhiville 3y
