This was a low pick for me. I missed the more sophisticated satire of the Discworld books, but I think these stories would be very enjoyable for a younger audience. I loved the illustrations -- they were the best part!

A charming collection of some of Pratchett‘s early short stories.

Delightful to listen to! Varying from average Pratchett (which is still good!) to really great, we see the beginnings of Pratchett‘s wit and imagination! Gnomes in a department store, a Wild Welsh West heist, a time traveling TV, and a revolutionary ant! 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

Time for more short stories from my favourite Terry Pratchett, the author who started my love of reading

This was my first Terry Pratchett book and it was an excellent first read on audio! The sound effects that were added in throughout all the short stories was a fun addition! Overall, excellent read! Loved it. Would totally reread it and recommend it to others.

I‘ve been out of the game for a bit but finally got my reading groove back. Here‘s a preview of my fall TBR. It‘s only the books that I currently have in print. Am I being overly ambitious? Probably. Am I still gonna try for it? You bet. Am I gonna have fun doing it? We‘ll see how it goes lol - I mean HECK YES BRING IT ON!

This was fun and light hearted and a perfect audiobook for today! Narration and voices and accents were superb—ghouls, trolls, gnomes and witches! My first Pratchett

This is a collection of short stories (14 total) that Pratchett wrote when he was young. It showcases his imagination. There is a whimsical quality to these stories however they are not on par with his later works. That said, it is a fun read that myself and my grandkids enjoyed. I listened to the audio book and felt the narrator added to the stories. I loved the sound affects! 3.5 ⭐

The Witch‘s Vacuum Cleaner is a collection of early short stories written when he was a junior reporter. He admitted he was not that great at short stories & these lacked some of the humor & wit he later developed. But I did enjoy seeing the origins for some of his later works. These stories also demonstrate that he had one of the best imaginations of any author.

A quick book, but overall, it was just okay.

This was one of my daughters books and I read it at her insistence. I‘m so glad I did as it was hilarious! This was my first Terry Pratchett book and I just know that I‘ll be reading many more of them in the future. His writing style and humour are right up my alley. So much fun!

Trying out a new audiobook for the kids! I‘m hoping this will lead to more Pratchett love.

I'm more familiar with the Discworld series than anything else, but Sir Terry Pratchett's imagination and creativity never ceases to amaze and amuse.

Finished this charming collection just before my clock struck twelve. This was my first Pratchett, but will definitively not be my last. Discworld here I come!

I'm listening to this collection of short stories this morning while working in the garden and around the house before leaving for a weekend road trip this afternoon. It's a fun collection of stories with great narration.

A collection of early short stories by Terry Pratchett that he wrote when he was a junior reporter & were published weekly in his local newspaper. All are wonderfully narrated in this collection, and although not as layered as his later Discworld series, they are a lot of fun for readers of all ages. Highly recommend if you enjoy things like Fortunately, the Milk by Neil Gaiman & if you haven't read that check them both out and enjoy.

Listened to this one today on my drive.... such great odd stories written by a young Terry Pratchett. So glad I snatched it up when it was available on http://www.audiobooksync.com/ for free the other week. I have to remember to check them every week in the summer!

Loving this hilarious collection of stories. Always wanted to start the Discworld Series and now I think I definitely should. Pratchett's writing style reminds me so much of Neil Gaiman's which makes sense because I loved their collaboration on Good Omens.

Maybe this fun collection of stories written by Sir Terry when he was 17 for his local newspaper will get me out of a funk. This is the 2nd such collection (vol 1 was Dragons at Crumbling Castle) and it's nice to see an intro from him - so he knew this would be published and even tweaked a few things.
The title alone is worth the price of admission 😁

I told the spouse that when I'm elderly I want a long white beard I can stroke wisely. "That doesn't surprise me, but I need time to adjust." "Okay, I'll only wear it on Sundays." If I can negotiate an additional day of the week every ten years, I'll be set. #thankfullyreading

Been putting this DRC off, but he's moved on whether I read this book or not. And eventually, I always want to read him.
