This one was a little bit all over the place. It seemed very random and asked a lot more questions than it answered. But it was a book I read in a little over a day so I can fill in another square #bookspin #bookspinbingo #doublespinbingo

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join the fun if you want.
This is day 241 #bookstoread #tbrpile #bookstagram
Alice knows what‘s real and what‘s not. But she did see a fairy threatening her father right before he disappeared. And there is something odd about Uncle Geryon...the uncle she never heard of until she was sent to live with him. She discovers she‘s a Reader...and that her uncle has one agenda while the talking cats guarding his mysterious library have their own. Her father might be alive..but who should she trust? (Continued in comments)
Visited the Biblioteca Capitolare of Verona today for the first time in my life. It's true that often we want to see the world and we don't know our own city!
Didn't know this library is the oldest in the world still operative since when it was first founded, sometime between the IV and the V century. It celebrates 1501 years this year, but it's probably older.
A friend gave a speech on fantastical beasts from the library's illuminated books.
Up next is a reread in preparation for the fourth and final book in the series
Third book for #24B42019 @TheReadingMermaid @Andrew65 and Second book for #11thHourReadathon @EclecticReaders
This is my favorite #librarian joke so far 😂 #chaucer #library #litsyhumor
I‘m listening to Cassandra Morris read the book. If I hadn‘t looked her up on Wikipedia, I could have sworn she was a young girl just like Alice. This made me think about how much I should thank and appreciate all the people who help make audiobooks amazing.
I gave a shout out to Daughter #1‘s high school yesterday, as it came up in one of my current reads, so it‘s only fair that I give Daughter #2‘s high school a shout out as well. This video was filmed by Field Notes for an upcoming special edition. They are also long time sponsors of the #ToB, whose long list I am currently tackling. Check out the video: https://vimeo.com/299142029 It‘s pretty cool.
1. Started a new job as a librarian. This was my first bulletin board!
2. Trying to get my 8 year old to wind down for bed.
3. Any spare minute
4. It‘s possible that there‘s a passive-aggressive shadow war going on, but in my defense, they‘re neighbors from hell
5. Fanfiction!

I bet these holds all come in at the same time! #toomanybooks
1. It is organized as far as every book looks neat and tidy!
2. Yes - I have quite a few books in that pile. I actually have a few shelves devoted to my tbr pile!

Nooooooo!!!!!!!! Though I am looking forward to seeing what the renovations will look like. I think we have a beautiful library to begin with.
I absolutely loved this book! Can‘t wait to see what shenanigans Alice and Issac get into next! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is my nearest library and they are trying out the best new thing. If you've never done anything awful to the library then you can register your card and get out of hours access to the building.
I'm super excited about this as sometimes I'm just not awake when it's open with staff and now I can pick up my reserves ect at more convenient times.
How cool is this?!
The book just ended with no resolution of anything. Not acceptable even if it is a series, especially as my copy gave no hint that this was a series.
Text convo with my sister earlier this week. I‘ve been trying to shelter myself from news of book sales, so I wouldn‘t be tempted to go. Because I cannot resist cheap books. But she went and told me, so... I‘m tempted. So very tempted......
Yeah so my library book ban is going really well, thanks 🤦♀️😭
1. Via Libby, every day. Physically, once a month maybe.
2. I love to see libraries when I‘m on vacation- so anywhere, really. I do love the performing arts branch of the NYPL - it‘s so fun to see what they have on display.
3. Lots. Soulless, Exit West, You Think It, I‘ll Say It, among others.
4. Probably 7 or 8
#trivialThursday
1. I work at a library so five days a week! My local public library, maybe once a month, because I get most reads through workplace or interlibrary loan.
2. El Escorial, Spain.
3. American hookup: the new culture of sex on campus by Lisa Wade because she is coming to campus next week.
4. No memory of this but probably 13-14? Whenever I was allowed.

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *sobs*
Wow, you can get a NYC Library card, even if you're not a resident (restrictions apply)! I never had one in all the years I worked in NY, but now that I'm a "tourist" (can you be a tourist in a place where you once lived?), I'm in possession of this shiny new red beauty. It only has a limited shelf life, but I can bring it back and reup any time I'm in NY.
application must be completed in person:

Love giving books and sharing worlds of adventure. These are a couple for the niblings! 🎄
#LibraryWedding - Attended a library wedding tonight... disappointed by the lack of actual books in the place!! Still had a great time though! I really wanted to go in a corner and read a book though! 📚🍂👰🏻

My library is almost done. I still have to tape my rug and I am still missing a shelf. The stuffier actually go in the sewing room but it's a mess right now.
When I'm not reading I'm working on my library. It doesn't look like much yet. Now onto floors.
Just realized this now, but I've finished my #litsyAtoZ actually July 14th I finished it. That's 2 of 4 challenges finished. And just 2 more books left on my #readharder 😃 @BookishMarginalia
If I ever married the #manpanion I would ❤️ it if it would be like this.
This is the library I worked part time at in PA.
This image is for my digital holds. I have these books on hold right now:
Ebooks/audiobooks--
Blue lily, Lilly blue (both e and a)
Strange the Dreamer (e)
Everything Everything (e)
Once and for All (e)
Paper books--
Lucky in Love by Kasie West
Jonesy 2
Adventures in Lettering
Creative Lettering
Joy of Lettering
These are the shortest holds lists I have had in a long time!! #holdsonlitsy #litsyloveslibraries @steverogers
#librarycardchallenge How many do you have? It's becoming kind of a thing for me now when ever I go some where to get their library card. I have 9 total. One isn't shown because I don't have a physical card, but I will later this summer.
Idk for some reason I went into the book section at Dollar Tree.
I am the worst
#LibraryStories:
I have witnesses. So, a patron approached the Circulation Desk this morning & told me there were no paper towels in the men's restroom. Okay. So I grab a replacement roll and head to the restroom. As I open the door--which doesn't make any noise at all--I hear a kind of nerdy voice exclaim,
"By the power of Gray Skull!"
There was only 1 person. He was in the stall. I can only imagine what that power just accomplished. ?
I know this has been discussed before, but if you were going to spend $ on an out of state library card where would you get the most of your money? I'm trying to decide between the Brooklyn or LA.
A whole lot of magic, a little intrigue, a splash of adventure and danger, and a mysterious library. Check, check, check, and check. What can possibly go wrong with magic and books? This is a solid book with a strong female lead. It reminds me more of Inkheart with a little Alice in Wonderland thrown in. I also thought of the So You Want to be a Wizard series too as I read it.
I'm trying to get through all the middle-school/YA backlog that I have so I can pass them on to my friends' kids. The cover blurb from Kirkus Review mentions Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, and Inkheart. So far, I agree with the Alice in Wonderland and Inkheart part - this book definitely has the feel of both. As for Harry Potter, I'm tired of every book with magic being compared to Harry Potter. Let's be a bit more creative.
Litsy Collective - a patron is looking for this book:
teen novel, boy protagonist, starts with him running, books are illegal/forbidden and being collected by The Library, someone mistakes what a book is for and It is NOT Forbidden Library. Any ideas?

By state the most beautiful libraries! =)
Really great YA read, with a complex plot, original plotlines and believable characters.
