I love books set in autumn season and I love this season. For me, living in the tropic means, end of the summer, it will be a less hot weather😅

Here‘s what I read in September. I read #libraryholds from Libby and I still have more #libraryholds to read. A lot of these books were on my Goodreads TBR for years so I‘m glad I finally read them. I still want to read what I own but I‘m not excited about my owned books right now so maybe it‘s a good thing I placed so many #libraryholds because I can just choose what I want to read and have the rest delivered later.

I also had 2 DNFs that are not pictured. They include...

𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑀𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐷𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑏𝑦 𝑇. 𝐾𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑓𝑖𝑠ℎ𝑒𝑟...this one I DNF'd mostly because the narration wasn't working for me.

𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐷𝑒𝑎𝑑 & 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐷𝑎𝑟𝑘 𝑏𝑦 𝐶𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑡𝑛𝑒𝑦 𝐺𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑...this one was because I couldn't engage in the story.

They both have Dead in the title...Hmmm.

SpookyMazeOfBooks What the SurpSeptemberReadathon and how can I find out about 3y
RainyDayReading @SpookyMazeOfBooks It‘s a Readathon that runs from the 11th of this month to the 19th. It‘s really low key, you can set whatever goals you want (amount of books read, hours, pages etc.) There‘s usually one hosted monthly by @Andrew65 though you can find information relating to this one at @EadieB page due to Andrew being ill this time. Usually you just make a post with your goals for the readathon and update as you go! 3y

Forgot to post this yesterday 😅 whoops. Goals for this month are:
-To read at least 4 books
-Do yoga everyday (aside from yesterday due to illness)
-Go for a walk at least once a week
-Try to get myself to relax more/worry less & take more time for myself because I am not a machine and this stress will be the death of me.
@wanderinglynn
#BFC21

wanderinglynn Great goals! 🙌🏻 The last one is especially essential. Are you going to work on destressing through self-care, like facials, pedicure/manicure, massage, meditation? 3y
RainyDayReading @wanderinglynn Thank you! Definitely by incorporating more self-care. The yoga lends itself to that because I‘m going to try a “normal” yoga class during the day and a restorative/gentle yoga in the evening before bed to help me sleep & destress. I‘ve got meditation on my list along with doing face masks/facial cleansing stuff, journaling/writing to help stoke my creativity and relieve some stress 👇🏻 3y
RainyDayReading @wanderinglynn and spending some time outside each day because being amongst plants and trees really helps me. I‘ve been keeping myself inside the house with the idea that I have too many chores to do, but being outside is such a stress reliever for me so I‘m going to try to make time to allow myself to just go outside. 3y
wanderinglynn I love it! It all sounds fantastic. I especially love spending time outside. I too always feel better after spending some time in nature. And there will always be chores. Your mental & spiritual welfare are more important than a perfectly spotless home. 💜 3y
RainyDayReading @wanderinglynn That‘s what I keep trying to tell myself! I‘ve definitely fallen into the hole of productivity=worth and I‘m desperately trying to claw my way out of it and let myself just rest for Pete‘s sake. It‘s nice just to get out and get away from things and stare at some trees and flowers rather than the TV or computer screen. 3y

I put together a #proposedtbr for September, including books for challenges, an intent to try to whittle away my extensive NetGalley queue, and finishing up books from August. In doing so, I came to a horrifying realization. I don‘t feel like reading. Anything. I would like to have read everything here, but I don‘t want to actually read anything right now, not even any of the other unread books on my shelves. 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺#horror

A little late but nine down for September and I finished my 90th book for the year. Lots of catching up with various series this past month but some good reading overall. My faves were probably The Archive of the Forgotten and Skyhunter. I felt like I read more than this but that may be because I had five remaining books I was bouncing back-n-forth between at the end of the month that I didn't finish in time for this round up.

A round up of the books I read this month, whilst I anxiously await tomorrow‘s bookspin!

Having free spaces on #bookspinbingo is *such* a good idea - it meant that every book I read this month counted.

So I got two bingo lines, and read 4 books for #readingeurope2020 - only 1 more to go on that challenge!

Less books this month than I‘ve read for the rest of lockdown as I got a new job... pesky work getting in the way of reading!

catebutler I love the free spaces too! I‘m motivated by the set list, but the free spaces allow me to mood read too! You had a great month, Helen. 🍂 4y
MsMelissa You still read more than I did and I‘ve been working full-time, so I think you did awesome 😊 It always amazes me how people who work full-time can read so much each month. I need to learn to read faster (I can‘t do audiobooks) 🤣 4y
squirrelbrain I used to read a lot on my train commute to work (pre-lockdown) and then over the summer I went for a long walk each day and got into audiobooks. Now I just have a short driving commute and I still need how to fit books into my new working life! I‘ve only been in the new job for 2 weeks so most of those books were from earlier in Sept! @Book_Fiend_Melissa (edited) 4y
See All 11 Comments
MsMelissa I used to be the same way. My best reading years were when I took the bus to and from work and got lots of reading done. I now have a ten-minute commute via car (if I ever get to work in my office again that is) so my reading was cut down. I can‘t do audiobooks cause I can‘t for the life of me focus on them (I can‘t listen during work anyway given the type of work I do) and I‘ve really tried so I can listen and walk, but seems to be beyond me 😂 4y
TheAromaofBooks Yay!!! Awesome month!!! 4y

Hooked_on_books Wow, only one left! That‘s awesome. I think I have 11 to go, which puts me right on schedule. 4y

Hooked_on_books I either have them in hand or they are on the way (or will be) from the library. And I have Azerbaijan in process now. It‘s well written but weird and meandering. But at least I found one! 4y
squirrelbrain Yeah, my Azerbaijan one was 😓 hard work! @Hooked_on_books Hope yours is better! 4y

Readergrrl This book is my all time safety read! Whenever I‘m in a bad spot or something traumatic has happened to me, this book has allowed me to escape. I first read it in college during a painful breakup, then when my beloved grandmother passed. Now, 16 years later, my own mother has just passed and, in my grief, I‘m feeling the need to reread. It‘s ironic because I keep seeing this book pop up on Litsy, on Facebook, even Instagram! 4y
LeslieO @LeahBergen I read Miss Buncle‘s Book and loved it. I own a few others and will have to get Spring Magic, sounds wonderful. And I will check out Wentworth. Thank you, Leah! 🙂 4y
LeslieO @mdm139 oh! I own that but haven‘t read it yet. Moving it up on the TBR. 4y
LeslieO @Readergrrl Oh I‘m so sorry for your loss. It‘s wonderful that a book can bring comfort. Have you read Winter Solstice by Pilcher? I loved that one, too. 4y

I didn‘t get through my goals but this definitely kicked me into high gear. Finished 7 books this week! Next time, I‘ll aim to be less specific. Thank you @Andrew65

1) Six of Crows: 75%
2) Home Before Dark: 30%
3) The Wise Ones: 15%
✔️ 4) 2 audiobooks : Dead Until Dark & Cherry

Andrew65 Yes, i find it is better to be less specific as what we read can change with our moods. I find pages read and / or books read work better for me. 4y
