A good write up linking to 6 author podcast interviews, including Mary Oliver, on Book Riot this morning. Haven't listened to any of them yet, but always love to hear from N. K. Jemisin. Also, Hillary Clinton, Isabel Wilkerson, Pema Chodron and George Saunders.

I can‘t imagine this as a series, I hope whoever does it gives it the attention and resources it deserves!

I don‘t care for fantasy. This book, or rather book 1 of the trilogy, is a good example of why. I struggled for a long time to be interested, I always felt a bit lost, and I think it contributed to my reading slump. Slowly the characters grew on me, so I had to see it to the end. The characters are why I made this a pick rather than so-so. This book is well-loved by many, so I know it‘s just my quirk about hard fantasy. #authoramonth
I only planned to read The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms this month for #authoramonth but I got so caught up in the story and the writing that I read all three novels, plus the final novella set in this world that were included this kindle bundle. Reading this was really satisfying. The end of each book left me really wanting more, but then as each new character was introduced I got completely wrapped up in them and was only focused on their story.
#twofortuesday Thanks @Butterfinger for the tag!
1. Yes very much so. It forces me to read more books in general, more books on my tbr list, & more books outside my comfort zone (like the tagged book—it might just be a little too “fantasy” for me, but it‘s for a challenge I want to complete). They do stress me out sometimes, but the flip side is that they help me out of reading ruts as well

Started this one (or Book 1 in the trilogy) today for #authoramonth. @Soubhiville
#AuthorAMonth pick for January, on kindle sale (at least in the US) today!
@Soubhiville
It was a smart decision to return back. It‘s an expansive and massive tale spanning three novels and a novella (which I only started 🤫🙂). It talks about a world of humans and Gods, and godlings, and demons. And the inherent power struggle, heartbreak, lessons and growth that results. Told from three different perspectives and covering continued spans of time, they work well together. Despite its size it‘s a fascinating read. #nospoilers #scifi
Oh how I love N.K. Jemisin's writing! This book was over 1400 pages long, containing three novels and one novella. It was physically difficult to read because of it's size, but it was excellent.
Binge read all three books in the trilogy in a day and my eyes hurt! Gods, godlings, and mortals in an epic power struggle. And love.
I had so many plans to read other things, but while I have been organizing the apartment, this called to me. I listened, and apparently I am in need of fantasy & sci-fi for a bit. Also, I found a wonderful #bookmark in the process. #bookworm #currentlyreading #notgoingtoquestion ❤️📚
He‘s so jealous of any attention given to anything but him that he intentionally makes me lose my page 😂 also notice all the random slips of paper used as a bookmark— the signs of a “true reader” I‘m told! 😂
Started reading this on a whim. So far I really like it. It has all the makings of the beginning of a great epic fantasy. Let‘s see how this continues.

After 2.5 months, I ought to be able to count this more than once in my GR Reading Challenge. (Note to self: no more omnibus editions...even if they are $2.99).
And now your watch is ended...so why not read some more? 🔥❄️ Here are some book series to help you move on from #GameOfThrones. Full blog: https://www.strandbooks.com/strand-blog#/entry/entry223-game-...
The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms was almost as good as The Broken Earth Trilogy, maybe a little easier to read, in some ways maybe a little more accessible or “fun”? I put off reading it for so long because I was afraid to be disappointed. NO WORRIES. It‘s an amazing story. I‘m not sorry to say N.K. Jemisin is my absolutely favorite author. Also, I‘m liking the new Kindle option to sort by “read” or “unread”.
Just started...brilliant work but way different than triple-Hugo-winning The Broken Earth trilogy.
🗣 The Inheritance Trilogy is on ridiculous sale today for $2.99!

My latest tattoo. I still have to get the coloring done, but I'm so excited! This is Sieh from The Inheritance Trilogy, child god of mischief. He steals planets and stars to play with.
Thank you so much Daisey! I will return the favor this weekend! 🥰 #KindLitsy #ILoveThisCommunity
Wow!! This did not feel like 1446 pages, I flew through the books. I especially liked that the point of view character in the second book was blind! N.K. Jemisin did a great job here! So excited to read her story collection - it should arrive tomorrow 😁
1400+ pages can be a bit intimidating. But 150 pages into the Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, and I am hooked! Maybe I will take a break between each of the books, but for now, I can't stop!
Next up as the read out loud selection for my partner and I. This one is going to take us awhile!
Words can't really express how excited I am for this. Here are some emojis.
😲😃😁🤩🎉🎊🎈🌞🌠⚡🔥

Went to Left Bend Books in St. Louis and got scored this tiny little #bookhaul. I really wanted the new Kaku book but alas, it‘ll have to wait until next time.

@Jess7
Still haven't gotten around to this yet - but if it's anything like her Broken Earth trilogy I suppose I really oughta. 🤔
#MarchBookstagram2018: Thickest Book
I haven‘t read The Inheritance Trilogy, @Chachic gave it to me last month only (like that‘s an excuse! 😂), but I feel like I‘m gonna like it. All the books Chachic recommends to me hit the right spot; so if you want book recs, she‘s the besfluencer I‘ll rec you to! 😉

1. Lots of love triangles in my current read (tagged book) but my favorite is Yeine, Itempas, and Nahadoth. It‘s intense!
2. Old school? Maria and Tony from West Side Story Slightly more recent? Almásy and Katharine Clifton in The English Patient
3. The whole love scene between Jake Sully and Neytiri in Avatar.
4. Who shall I tag?? How about some new Littens? @Leigh_Medeiros @beodd @Eggbeater
Finally committed to this 1,400-ish page monstrosity after it mocked me from my TBR shelf for about a year. I just finished book one, The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, and am mentally preparing myself for book two, The Broken Kingdoms. And, yes, I am one of those evil book spine crackers.
1. Kids and dogs are the cutest. And then a goose adopted my office lawn. And my sweet, late cat. ❤️❤️ you @TricksyTails
2. iPhone
3. Cookie! Cookie! Cooooookie! (Said like the Cookie Monster, b/c I like them all.)
4. Just started book 3 of the tagged trilogy. It‘s an epic fantasy with gods, godlings, demons, and a human or two. Amazing world building and characters.
5. Can‘t wait for Olympic ice skating and skiing!
#HumpDayPost
I meant to post this last week! This is another gift from my awesome husband @TheWhiteHatter 🎁🎄 I loved the Broken Earth trilogy, so I‘m excited to read this one! 😊 #TBR

Well, I had to order Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames because the only place in town to get it is forty miles away and driving around Las Vegas in December is LOL nope. So alas, woe, I had no choice but to pick up this trilogy in the meantime.
At 1446 pages it took me longer than I anticipated to read but it was well worth the time. This world is absolutely fascinating. Jemisin is an excellent writer. Overall I love Yeine though I think Oree's story in the second book is my favourite. Absolutely fantastic ending. 4/5 stars. #whattoreadnextnowthough
Page 1304 also the last chapter! 😃 #catsoflitsy #readingbuddy

This series was quite good. I enjoyed all of it, but the second book was my favorite.
And this is Strider in front and Lady Galadriel in the back they're brother and sister. Even though Lady looks like a totally different breed haha. Pic 2/2 their litters names all came from LOTR because my whole family is full of fantasy readers haha
Got to hang out with these lovelies while getting some reading done today. Only about 300 pages left!😃😃 pic 1/2 this is Myah she's the mama❤❤

Excuse my horrible collage lol but I just cleaned my shelves, they had a bunch of just random stuff in front of my books (which I hate) and the stuff on top was just shoved up there all Willy nilly. I still have some stuff on top that I'd like to be rid of but have nowhere else to put 🤔
Also really enjoying this series. I feel like it's taking me forever to read though. I think I've been playing more games then usual. So I'm blaming that.
OMG it‘s giant. But, yes, I bought it because all three in one for $20. How could I say no?
Look at these beauties that came in the mail today. I got another surprise today that I cannot talk about until next Friday. Phooey on you, Friday 13th👊🏻
