The top photo was one of the last photos taken of my fur baby. The bottom was one year when he got the Max antler in his bark box. He was the bestest mutt ever. Even two years later, I still have a huge Dexter-sized hole in my heart. 💔

This is my little man, Silver! He‘s a Doxie-Chon, half Dachshund and half Bichon. He had a patch of white hair on the back of his neck when he was born and so the humans who owned his parents called him Silverback. He‘s like a living teddy bear!!

For @LauraBeth and #Bitsy. My dog-niece is a Border Collie / Beagle cross. ? Her name is Margaret but (after an unfortunately vomitous ending to some stick-chewing) the family has dubbed her "Margaret Ate-wood".

She is the sweetest thing and likes to hang out in the library with me when she's here for sleepovers.

#nationalmuttday. My dear Sietje is 100% mutt, adopted from Austin Dog Rescue. We did the doggie DNA test, and it came back 43% unidentifiable terrier and herding class, and little traces of cattle dog, bluetick hound, and chow. She doesn't look like any of those! But she's great company for reading, and everything else, since I live in one of the most dog friendly cities in the country. She even comes to work with me! 🐶❤️ forever!

My "niece" on this #NationalMuttDay. This is the closest I get to owning a dog. This girl, Lou, is a dream. ❤

It's #nationalpuppyday so here is a picture of my Bear, caught mid-yawn. He's two, so technically not a puppy anymore but he always will be to me. He's such a silly boy and I adore him. He has taken over both of the armchairs in the living room. King Bear 🐻🐶

My #readingcompanion #photoadaynov16 when I am in Newcastle with my family - China who is officially Tenterfield Terrier, but is actually 100% mutt and all the better for it.

One more Mutts post...this was my house this morning, when my husband left for work at 6:50. The Ridgeback mix was Mooch (the cat--actually, she is ALWAYS Mooch, my theory is that Ridgebacks are basically cats), our Golden was Earl (the dog). I could not sleep in. Thank you so much rambunctious Ridgeback & lonely Golden making a ruckus this morning, at 7 AM. 🙄🙄🙄
