Not going to lie, I only read three of the five stories in this book. I don‘t know if I‘m ready to fully immerse myself in Charles Dickens. The fact that he was paid by the page greatly influenced how thorough the writing in these stories were. Christmas Carol though is a classic to me and I plan to read it every year. ⬇️

Got together with my #Nashvillelittens in person last night for the first time in 2 years! Thank God and Dolly Parton for vaccines 🙌🏼 Thanks to @ferskner for hosting us and being the best secret Santa! It was a joy to hang out with all these amazing women. Last year I wrapped each book individually. My son loved it, but all that wrapping is a pain! I‘m being lazy this year and refilling this cute little gift sack each night instead. Also, December snuck up on me this year. Anyone else?!

Love this display at Barnes and Noble. It is blind date with a book but with a Christmas gift twist. What do you buys kids for Christmas that need nothing? Books of course! Big brother had so much fun picking out books for all his cousins at the thrift store. It‘s his favorite “book store”. $4 for these, and a couple others that we‘ve already wrapped.

Every December my daughter and I do a book advent. I wrap up 24 Christmas books, and she gets to open one each night. Then we read it together. It‘s one of my favorite holiday traditions. ❤️📚🎄❤️

I began a 14 month secondment in Jan this year. I was worried that the increase in responsibility and workload would cut into my reading but I've managed to read more than any other year! I've found myself giving fewer 5* ratings and finding most books >400 pages too long. Not sure if it's because of the volume of books, that I've become more discerning or that I'm just less patient! It was time to put one set of seasonal books away (Hallowe'en). It was NOT time to get the next set (The C Word) out but my daughter insisted. And it has to be said, Usborne do a fabulous range of Christmas books - some of these are from Xanthe's first Christmas and she still loves them.

And no, I don't work for them, I just genuinely love their books!

I picked this up during Christmas time. A Christmas Carol was a reread for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The writing was exquisite and the story is truly beautiful. I tried to continue on, but I found myself entirely bored with the next story and the next. I am DNFing and unhauling it. A Christmas Carol has proved yet again to be the only Dickens book I care for.
