I didn't enjoy this installment of the trilogy as much as I did book one. This was kind of up then down, and then up and down again for me. What I did like was the narrator and how the story was written around a readers obsession with an author and his work. I thought this was a great concept.

As a follow-up to Mr. Mercedes, Finders Keepers is not entirely what I was expecting. It takes a different tack with the way it presents its story, as well as whose eyes we predominantly see it through.Taken on its own merits, it's an absolutely fantastic read with a very engaging young protagonist, a tense conflict at its core, a disturbing antagonist, and just enough of Bill Hodges and Holly Gibney to keep me happy. 5/5
An interesting one, I prefered the first book a little more.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the start, I thought fictional author John Rothstein must be based on JD Salinger. He is partly, but is actually a composite of a few famous authors. Very clever, Mr King. This second installment of the Bill Hodges Trilogy brilliantly weaves together Mr Mercedes with other events going on within the same setting. Rothstein‘s stolen money and Moleskines go missing a second time. They are very, very valuable.
It‘s fall break, and my boys are at soccer camp, so it‘s a bonus greenway #audiowalk for me. It‘s a hot, but gorgeous day. 🎧☀️🍂🍁
I didn‘t think this one was as good as the first one, but I liked it. I liked that the characters intertwined from the first book and the story was interesting. It was a bit slow in parts, but overall I liked it.
"For readers, one of life's most electrifying discoveries is that they ARE readers - not just capable of doing it, but in love with it. Hopelessly. Head over heels. The first book that does that is never forgotten, and each page seems to bring a fresh revelation, one that burns and exalts: 'Yes! That's how it is! Yes! I saw that, too!' And, of course, 'That's what I think! That's what I FEEL!'
?????
This was actually my favorite book of the Bill Hodges trilogy. Maybe I am a just a sucker for books about books. Also this could installment could make a strong case for the role fan fiction could play in preventing potential murder 🤣 #losersclub

This was a fun and bloody book about books and how long you can hold out to read an unpublished one by your former favorite author who you killed 🙃

I had forgotten that the trio of Holly-Bill-Jerome doesn‘t show up until late. Once I got over that I enjoyed my re-read of this one. I think King was messing with us when he made the villain an obsessive book worm.
Counting down until Holly is released!
🎧 Book 2 & I was looking forward to more Hodges, Holly & Jerome. King can write a character & I was enjoying this combination.
This book is so intriguing but I had to wait for half a book to get back to the detective trio.
The story‘s told by multiple characters. A criminal, a child, our trio. All coming at the same crime from different angles.
It starts with a murder mystery which goes unsolved until the end when our trio …

I think it is pretty obvious who my favorite author is. After all, this is the 1st thing people see when they walk through the front door. My collection has really grown over the years & someday I hope to have them all.
A suspenseful thriller from the minds of one of the greats. Highly recommend.

I'm still a fan of Mr. Mercedes. That character Brady really got me. What a creep. Though he was in this one, it wasn't to my satisfaction. This one just didn't reel me in quite as much.

Book 2 in the Bill Hodges trilogy is another pick. It‘s not quite as good as Mr. Mercedes, but it has great character development and a satisfying ending. The way he gets into the minds of these evil villains is really disturbing. I also loved that this is basically a love letter of sorts to book lovers. I‘m looking forward to seeing how everything plays out in book 3. 4⭐️

Taking a break from my celebrity memoir #audiowalks and listening to the always freaking amazing Will Patton reading the 2nd in this series. ❤🥰❤🥰❤🥰
This book wasn't as great as the first book. It was definitely still a 4 star book but I really got attached to the 3 characters in the first book and they were only in about 1/4 of the book. It was still a pick, I just wish I could have seen more of the original characters.
Not my favourite King. I've already had some problems with part one, and the second one wasn't any better. I just couldn't seem to get into the story, and it all seemed superficial to me. At least, when you keep in mind that it's a book by Stephen King. I'm still going to read part three, of course. It's still Stephen King after all.

• Started on #audiobook last night before bed. Good narration by Will Patton, whose voice I enjoy. Hope to chug along at a consistent pace because I enjoyed "Mr. Mercedes" years ago and want to finish the series. Book 2 in the Bill Hodges Trilogy •

I liked this one even better than Mr. Mercedes!
Stephen King dove in to more of a crime thriller compared to his typical horror with Finders Keepers.
A boy, Pete, literally stumbles upon a hidden treasure. Not only does he now have money to help with his family, but there were also notebooks full of unpublished work from a famous author.
But what happens when the person who hid the treasure wants it all back? End had me on the edge of my seat!
I read so much during this #24B4Monday challenge!

I have discovered the voice of Will Patton (thanks to my wonderful friend Bonnie) and am listening to my third audiobook in one week. (That‘s very unlike me, but it allows me to read AND play mindless games on my Switch. Multitasking!) I guess I went a bit out of order, as I listened to The Outsider first, but now I‘m cruising through the Bill Hodges trilogy. Kind of obsessed!
A bit late with my #bookreport but I finished and loved / liked every one of my physical reads this week. A word on the nonfiction one...I'm about a year into not dyeing my hair and halfway to getting fully transitioned to my natural silver and white streaks. I may go for the chop soon to speed it up! Don't call me Nadine please Stand fans 😂😂
Still continuing with Finders Keepers on #audible 👍

Still enjoying #audiomanicures and book two of the trilogy #currentlyreading #audible
Another great by Stephen King. He weaves in the characters from Mr. Mercedes in an unexpected way which I really enjoyed. The ending of the main story was really good and the book‘s ending makes me want to read the third book in the trilogy right away.
Really enjoyed the second book in the Bill Hodges trilogy. Linked to the first book in a clever way and very entertaining.

Second book in the Bill Hodges trilogy, really enjoying it so far 🙂
The gang is back at it again and I love their chemistry! This second installment held my attention better than the first. I'm relieved how Brady was tied into the story but not as the centerpiece. This could be a completely independent story, but it makes sense to be happening in the same world with the same cast of characters. I can't wait to read the next one!
