The Fitness Challenge: Reshaping Our Future | Rick C. Mason

I had so much fun with #bfcr2 and #booknerdherd ☀️
I finished up with 24 Jazzercise classes, 260 km of walking, and 22 books (including 4 audiobooks)!

This time I‘m a part of team #bookdragons and I‘m looking forward to it!! I‘m setting the following goals for #bfcr3
Read 12 books
Jazzercise 5 times per week (30 classes total)
Try something new! This could be workouts, recipes, or books that I might not normally pick up!

📚18/18 books read
☕️Avoided sugar in tea/coffee (cheated with flavored creamer a couple times)
🏦Steady habit of morning walks at work
🏘Mostly did 2x/week neighborhood walks
🏋🏼‍♂️Gym workouts 1x/week & added weight training
🙏🏼Spiritual practice goal wasn‘t consistent, but I‘m glad to be rebuilding this habit!
I loved having the #BookNerdHerd & the Litsy community to cheer me on—thank you all for a great #bfcr2!

Pyle cartoon in the upper right sums up how I so often feel about exercise: “Our net product is fatigue”—😂 But it‘s still been great to focus on fitness with my bookish peeps! Where the Crawdads Sing | Delia Owens

so-so

Finished listening to this during my #audiorun in Hot Springs, Arkansas today (hot spring above). Book #17 for #BFC. The narrator made Kya sound like an ignorant, breathy little girl the whole book, which drove me crazy. 👎 I hated this book other than the marsh descriptions for the first several hours, but I finally started enjoying it for the last 4.5 hours or so. Favorite character is still the marsh. 😂 Wouldn't reread, but it was fine. 🤷

Caterina I think this would be much improved by being a book club pick. Plenty to discuss. 5y

marleed I‘m so interested in comments on this book because it was a so-so for me, as well. So a community leaves a girl to fend for herself in the marshes - just no. Had the book been marketed as YA, I think I would have approached my thoughts on Kya differently. 5y

Caterina @marleed I'm amazed by the unmitigated praise I've been seeing for this book! So glad to find another person who rated it so-so. 😂 Now that you say it, I think I would have enjoyed this book more if it were marketed as YA. 🤔 Part of why I hated most of the book was because it was so aggressively sad without seeming worth reading so much sadness. My dad has read it and told me to stick with it, which is the only reason I didn't bail! 5y

A Time to Dance | Padma Venkatraman

I can‘t believe that it‘s the end of Week 6. Looking forward to Round 3!

💃 This week I attended a couple extra Jazzercise classes and walked 37 km. My summer break has just started and it‘s been very hot and humid!

📖 I finished three books and they were all good! The titles are A Rising Man, A Time to Dance, and The Case of Lisandra P. - the first book read for Women in Translation month!
