There's no #bookstack. But this picture shows 858 books.

I haven't downloaded any kindle crack this year, also no newsletter freebies. Alas, I was just approved for 11 more galleys (whish I had read an ARC instead of "shopping" for more).

PS: because hay-fever - in case anyone was about to ask ??

Karkar I love that owl 🦉 😍😍😍 5y
TrishB None all year 😱😱 wow 5y
julesG @TrishB Was very steadfast. But still haven't managed to cull the crack from the kindle. 🙈 5y

Larkken Lol. Kindle Crack is a perfect name. 5y
TrishB I think I‘ve done well if I manage a day without buying some #kindlecrack - I think this is worthy of its own tag! 5y
julesG @TrishB Definitely! The best way to avoid even looking for #kindlecrack was not opening my BookBub mail. 5y

This Man | Jodi Ellen Malpas

I just got these paperbacks and I‘m planning on doing a reread of the first three books in preparation for reading the newest book plus passionflix is making This Man into a movie❤️ I devoured these books years ago, they‘re the definition of #kindlecrack this series is a beautiful train wreck of a romance, there‘s so many things wrong with the characters and their relationship but you just can‘t look away😳😂

CoverToCoverGirl This series is in my TBR pile(s) somewhere.. I‘ll have to find them and bump them up my list! 😊 6y

Yep, STILL Irritated! But writing this has been cathardic. Let me know what you think, if anything. This is my full review for the first romance #kindlecrack written by a guy. @CoverToCoverGirl @CocoReads @Daughter-of-words @LaurenReads
https://theresidentromantic.wordpress.com/2018/06/10/break-hard/

CocoReads Great review. I actually couldn‘t finish this book, it annoyed me so much. As a book about an MC it was fine but as a romance I hated it. There was nothing romantic about it. For male written romances, I‘ve been liking Mickey Miller‘s books (all 2.5 of them that I‘ve read anyway). 6y
theresidentromantic @CocoReads Thank you! I got to a point where I just had to keep going. And I dunno that I could trust them again O.O. Men. Gah. 6y
CocoReads @theresidentromantic I don‘t think I got far enough to be invested in the finish. 6y

CoverToCoverGirl Great review.. I haven‘t attempted reading it yet.. I‘ll skip it thanks and continue to hang out with the Last Riders, the Raven Riders and the Hangmen of course 😍 6y
Lauren_reading I‘m always nervous about men writing romance...great review! The only romance book I‘ve read by a man, that I liked was Storm and Silence, more historical - but good. (edited) 6y
Daughter-of-words Great review 👏😁 You definitely put into words one of the frustrations of romance readers everywhere. I started a Mickey Miller book last month and ran into a few of the same problems so I put it down😒...loved the Hangmen shoutout at the end❤️😉 6y
theresidentromantic @cocoreads @CoverToCoverGirl @LaurenReads Thanks! I would definitely say to not waste you're time! I'm really hoping after her new book comes out this week, we get a new Hangmen announcement from Ms. Cole. 6y
theresidentromantic @Daughter-of-words Thanks! I've got to steer as many people as I can in the right direction lol 6y

LibraryThing as a library service | Aina Manso Santolaria
post image

@Melissa_J , @Andrew65 , @Heatherfeather , & others have made a good point--Littens not on FB would like to join the #LibraryThing discussion too.

I'll be glad to start something of a central discussion center here on our homefront ☺️. Perhaps #LitsyonLT makes a good hashtag if the conversation spreads across profiles?

Please share!

Couple questions to start off:

1. What improvements would you like LT to make?
2. What should stay unchanged?

Melissa_J Thank you!!! 7y
Andrew65 What a star! No wonder they call you Mr. Book. 🙌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍😍 7y
See All 274 Comments
GarthRanzz 1. The updated database, as already mentioned would be a great change. 2. Any change to the linear timeline will be a dealbreaker for me. I cannot stand how other sites do not give you your timeline in the manner in which is should be presented; in order, newest to oldest. 7y
theresidentromantic I'm really scared to see this app make it big, to be honest. I know that's really selfish, but it's true. If Litsy has more than a few 1,000 members, swaps will get harder and faultier. But I would like a Direct message system and a better book library, that's more sensitive to books from different countries and #kindlecrack. Also, an updated people to follow tab, like Instagram. Thanks @MrBook!! 7y
kgriffith @theresidentromantic Updated “people to follow” has been my ALL CAPS PLEASE CAN WE FIX THIS from day one 🤓 I promise that one IS on the short list. 7y
silentrequiem @queerbookreader had a discussion starting on her profile. 7y
Texreader I love LibraryThing. Are the suggestions here for it or for Litsy? 7y
Andrew65 1. Private message facility would be good. 2. I would also like a favourite option as well as pick, so so etc. 3. Ability to enlarge photographs. 4. Current Popular hashtags. 5. Being able to see any Littens who follow you and you follow, so can address any inconsistencies where you have missed someone. I would like to keep the rest of it exactly as it is. Will give it further thought so may come back. 7y
melbeautyandbooks Great idea! 7y
MrBook @silentrequiem Awesome!!! I didn't mean to tread, @queerbookreader , sorry about that. 7y
Melissa_J I‘d love an easier way to navigate to me older posts rather than scrolling through my feed, and to be able to mute hashtags. (edited) 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Thanks!!! @MrBook What are your thoughts?? 7y
Librarybelle Thank you for the tag, @MrBook ! I just joined the Onward Litsy group on FB and have been reading the comments. I love Litsy and really don‘t have many suggestions. I love the family feel of the group. I also love LibraryThing and have been a member for 10ish years. I‘d say a more diverse book database would be great. Maybe liking comments made by others. I‘m excited to see the many awesome things this will bring! 7y
kgriffith From @TimSpalding, LibraryThing founder earlier today (in part to your point, @GarthRanzz ): Quick replies: 1. Timelines will stay chronological. I hate that too. 2. We are NOT adding ads. LibraryThing doesn‘t have them. (We have some Google ads if you‘re not signed in at all. But if you‘re at all signed in, no ads, ever.) 7y
britt_brooke @Melissa_J I like these suggestions! 7y
BethM I share the concerns of @theresidentromantic. I'd like tbr and read lists to be searchable. Don't automatically make LT and Litsy accounts linked: i.e. You still have to sign up. NO ALGORITHMS! 7y
britt_brooke @Melissa_J I like these suggestions! 7y
britt_brooke The ability to “like” comments would be fantastic! And maybe some fresh stickers. I‘d love to have the ability to blur line by line like back in the old days. I find the focus option kind of clunky. 7y
MrBook Litsy keeps deleting Littens that I tag 🤔🤔🤔 7y
quietlycuriouskate Thanks, @MrBook ! Some reasons why I deleted my Facebook account: non-linear feed, sponsored posts, an algorithm deciding whose posts I saw, the feeling of whispering into a screaming hurricane, general unfriendly (sometimes downright nasty) vibe of the whole thing. In contrast, Litsy feels like home. The Littens are lovely. It feels like a safe, warm place to be. 7y
Andrew65 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I‘d like to hear your thoughts too @MrBook 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I know!! I was tagged and then it disappeared!! 😮😮 7y
kgriffith Deleting the tags, you mean, @MrBook? There may be a cap to avoid spam; the devs aren‘t on I don‘t think but I‘ll make a note to inquire. Maybe tag the others in a comment in the meantime? 7y
Texreader I‘d love to sort the books on my wishlist so when I‘m at a bookstore I can easily see what‘s on my list. 7y
Melissa_J The app is a bit wonky right now! Maybe too many users on at once to discuss the news 🤣 7y
MrBook @kgriffith Yeah, that's what I was thinking I'd do, thanks! How many Littens does everyone see tagged at the moment? 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @kgriffith I was tagged and then I wasn‘t... 7y
Alfoster @River_Voice Agreed! I deleted Facebook as well for many of those reasons too! Litsy always feels like home!😍 7y
MrBook @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I restarted the app and I see you tagged again. 7y
silentrequiem @britt_brooke I'd forgotten about the blur function. That was fantastic! 7y
kgriffith I counted 16 before your latest adds, now I‘m seeing the full list again... 🤔 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @River_Voice I feel the same! I still have Facebook, but I am rarely on it due to all of the negativity and depressing feel of it! That‘s why I love Litsy so much! Everyone is positive and are my family now!!! @Andrew65 💕 (edited) 7y
MrBook @kgriffith 😂👏🏻 First you see 'em, then you don't! Okay, I'm still missing tagged Littens, but at least a good chunk of them are back up. 7y
Andrew65 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I think I‘d go further and say they are family. 😊😍 7y
kgriffith @MrBook Litsy‘s disappearing, reappearing fonts! Feature, not bug! 😋 7y
alisiakae There are some great comments over on my page, too. I‘ll update with the #LitsyonLT tag. 7y
teebe Thanks for the tag! I‘m happy things will stay chronological and there won‘t be ads. I‘d most like to see an option to how you view a Litsy profile (by post or seeing it as a grid). We had that feature before and I miss it— it makes looking through a profile easier which is handy for swaps. Also I‘d love if we had the option to add multiple photos to one post (a la Insta). It would cut down on multiple posts for one subject (also handy for swaps) 7y
tournevis I like what @Andrew65 states. And I agree with many here that any change to the timeline as it stands now would be a deal breaker. No algorythms ever. 7y
Tanzy13 great ideas, and thank you for starting this @MrBook and thank you so much for tagging me 😊📚 7y
teebe I also really like the idea of a DM system and the addition of a barcode scanner as was mentioned in the email. Honestly, more than anything I‘m hoping things don‘t change TOO much because I don‘t want things to go wonky, have people abandon ship and then we lose this lovely community 💜 7y
tournevis Like @theresidentromantic I a bit worried about the potential influx of people. Small is Beautiful, as the book says. 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @MrBook I‘m having a delay in comments posting also... 🤷🏼‍♀️ Anyway, I look forward to seeing your thoughts because I had never heard of LibraryThing until today. I‘m going to be positive though!! And thank you for the tag!!! ☺️💕 (edited) 7y
FantasyChick Haha @Andrew65 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks you guys must have better families than mine, mine are at each other's throats half the time 😂 but this is my happy place and I agree with a lot of the comments. One thing I would love to see though, is the same options for Android and IOS users. I, personally, would love to be able to edit my comments without buying a new phone to do it 7y
tournevis There is one thing I'd like added to the Read options. We have Liked, So-So and Pan, but why don't we have YMMV or Not-for-me? I read plenty of books that are good but that I don't like. 7y
tournevis @FantasyChick is right about the niggling difference btw iOS and Android... 7y
theresidentromantic @Andrew65 Being able to see trendy hashtags would be absolutely amazing, great idea! 7y
Andrew65 @FantasyChick True, perhaps we should say better than family! @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks . I think this is my happy place sums it up perfectly. 🙌👍👏 7y
Andrew65 @theresidentromantic @kgriffith Looks like trending hash tags is gaining momentum. @tournevis . As Jean Luc Picard would say ‘make it so‘ please. 😂😊👍 (edited) 7y
The_Literary_Jedi LT‘s scan option is great except when you‘re using an ebook and there‘s no barcode to scan, especially reading on your phone. There have been a few times when I‘ve been unable to locate a book on LT but found it on Litsy so also hoping the ability to find books grows on LT 7y
kylienoele I'd never heard of Library Thing until today, but what really put me off when I researched them is that they have a fee for cataloging more than 200 books..... what the heck is up with that? As far as suggestions for Litsy, it would be nice for them to weed out the extra copies of books that are on here. It sucks that we don't have consistent review percentages because of the extra books in the database. 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @FantasyChick lol! My family gets along really well! I just don‘t want to see our cozy book family turn into Facebook. That‘s my primary concern. I hope they do fix that for Android users! That would be annoying!!! 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Andrew65 I agree!!! My husband and kids just don‘t get it and that‘s ok because you guys do!!! 🙌🏻☺️ 7y
MrBook My thoughts? Hmmm, well, being a librarian I should be all over LT, lol, but I never got the chance to get a handle on it. Now I will 😁. And I trust @jeff & @todd to leave us in the best hands. I want LT to realize that Litsy is book-centric but not book-exclusive, and we're best when we can do our own things on here organically with little interference. Improvements are always great, I'm all for them. 7y
Andrew65 @kylienoele It has been said that Littens will able to create accounts with more than 200 books without a charge. @kgriffith (edited) 7y
melbeautyandbooks 1-Enlarge/zoom in on pictures (so we can see the names on those book spines 🤣), direct messaging capabilities, better book title database, ability to filter feed, create groups for swaps, buddy reads, etc. 2- Keep Litsy welcoming, inclusive, supportive, troll free, spam free, book-centric not book-exclusive- quoting @MrBook on that last one. 7y
Andrew65 @melbeautyandbooks Agree with everything you have said. 7y
rwmg As a life member of LT, I think it's great. I'm hoping it will deal with some things I find frustrating about Litsy: books not available in the catalogue, only 2 categories TBR and Already Read. On the other hand I wouldn't want to lose the distinctiveness of the 2 sites, otherwise why bother belong to both? 7y
Andrew65 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I think that sums it up perfectly, we have a group of people that get us, finally!!!! 🍾 7y
Andrew65 @MrBook Well said 🙌 7y
Kaye I‘ll play the Curmudgeon because I‘m pretty darn good at it. I like Litsy as is. I have zero interest in joining LT. I like the setup in here. @Andrew65 brought up one thing that‘d be handy but I‘m fine without it. (PM) To tell you the truth, this feels a lot like we‘ve been good renters, then the landlord sells the place out from under us. We weren‘t given any other options. I‘d like to know how LT plans on making money. $$ has to be involved. 7y
BethFishReads From the beginning I‘ve wanted an audiobook icon — not a sticker — so we can easily track print/ebooks vs audiobooks. I want audiobooks in the database. Granted, I‘m heavily biased. @Dogearedcopy @LitHousewife 7y
Linear I, gave no idea. I dont even know what the library thing is >_> 7y
kgriffith @kylienoele We have it from LT founder @TimSpalding on an earlier post that we are going to make LibraryThing accounts free even over 200 items for littens, I just don‘t yet know what that process will look like. We‘ll be sure to make it known widely once it‘s decided. Thanks for the tag, @Andrew65 😊 7y
Andrew65 @Kaye It does feel a bit like that, and agree overall very happy with it exactly as it is. In fact love it! 😍 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @MrBook Very well said! If you‘re good, I‘m good 🙌🏻 7y
FantasyChick @MrBook you, my friend, hit the nail on the head! I've read a lot of comments on the FB group about being "book exclusive" and that, to me, isn't why I joined Litsy. I wanted a community and that's what Litsy is. I have found my people and I don't want to lose that feel. It seems that is most people's main concern. As long as we don't lose that, I am good ? 7y
LitHousewife I agree completely with @BethFishReads. 7y
Andrew65 @kgriffith He did do this as well when Amazon binned Shelfari. 😊 for @TimSpalding 🤬😡for Amazon! 7y
kylienoele I agree with everything @Kaye has said to be quite honest 🙈 7y
riversong153 Thanks for the tag @MrBook I like the idea of being able to send private messages and trending hashtags! 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Where is @Cinfhen ???? I want to know her thoughts too!! @JoeStalksBeck thoughts?? 7y
CarolynM Library Thing is a new one on me too so can't comment on what they might offer. The friendliness and positivity of this community is why I'm here and I'd hate to lose that. It would be good to see a bit more scope in the ratings system, I agree with @tournevis an "it's good but I didn't like it" option would be useful. Totally agree about the chronological order and no ads being vital. Hoping for the best in the brave new world! 7y
PenguinInFlight I have no idea what Library Thing is, so I don‘t have much to offer in the way of comment. I like Litsy because it‘s different than Facebook or GR...I feel it‘s a much more welcoming and supportive platform than either of those places. I pretty much just use GR to keep track of my books. Like many have said, LItsy is my happy place...an anxiety free zone that allows me to interact with “my people”. 💜 7y
Andrew65 @FantasyChick @MrBook I just don‘t understand where that has come from, Litsy has always been about this community of wonderful like minded people that talk books but also chat with each other about life in general and is there 24/7 for everybody when life or even that day hits the rocks. So much love 💕 💕 💕That is exactly what makes it so special. 😍😍😍😍 @TimSpalding @kgriffith (edited) 7y
BethFishReads Also thanks @MrBook for the tag. I‘m a life member of LT, so obviously I like them. I don‘t want Litsy to change much. I‘d like to like comments and I‘d like it if hashtags would pop up as I typed them. Worried about a zillion new members. 7y
melbeautyandbooks @Andrew65 Thank you 😊. It‘s wonderful to see everyone rallying around the idea that they don‘t want the family, safe space feeling of this community to go away. (edited) 7y
Jess7 I really want the grid option! That would make it easier to find posts! 7y
JoeStalksBeck If they do the upgrades without destroying the community then awesome. I‘m concerned it will turn into instagram and lose it‘s book community feel 7y
Karkar I think for Litsy to remain one of my favorite apps - it has to stay positive. I cannot handle another GR where you get bashed for your opinion on a book. I also think no Ads is of vital importance! 7y
ghosthost Thanks for the tag. One thing I haven‘t seen mentioned yet is an option to put spoiler warnings over the text on a post but not the image or just the image and not the text. I‘d also like to have more control over what I see in my feed. Sometimes, I only want to see reviews. Also, the ability to delete your account. @Melissa_J Great ideas! (edited) 7y
JoeStalksBeck For the most part we all know each other and I‘m afraid of it getting bogged down and omg doing swaps and hoping people don‘t screw someone over... I‘m nervous but hopeful 7y
JoeStalksBeck @Karkar I agree 100% 7y
ValerieAndBooks I‘ve been a LibraryThing member for 10 years and I trust them a lot more than if any other social media had acquired Litsy. Now for changes/improvements to Litsy: zoom-in pictures, merge duplicate titles, swap posts should move to a separate section of Litsy (how, I‘m not sure), allow posts to be viewed as tiles and not just having to scrolling through them all. 7y
Andrew65 I am a member of Librarything and apart from the three Group Reads a month I lead on there, since discovering Litsy over a year ago (Thanks @Melissa_J ) I do use it a lot less. (edited) 7y
kylienoele @Andrew65 @kgriffith Sounds good! I'm just curious as to how they'll make money off of Litsy? 🤔 7y
DrexEdit I've read many good ideas here and on the Facebook group today. So these aren't my original thoughts but ones I saw that I agreed with. Sorry I don't remember the original posters! *embiggening images *a better way to tag book reviews and quotes posts and keep them separate from things like giveaways and Friyays *a tightening up of the data in the book database. Thanks for the tag @MrBook! 7y
Andrew65 @ValerieAndBooks Agree trust Librarything more than most. @TimSpalding @kgriffith 7y
kgriffith @kylienoele Take a look at “How does Litsy fit into LibraryThing‘s business model” in the Q&A: http://blog.librarything.com/main/2018/03/litsyquesti/ 7y
LitsyOwl Thank you for this post @MrBook. I never much use FB anymore but I went over there to read the comments & quickly remembered why I do not like FB. I am somewhat new here but would like to enlarge photos, private message and keep up with followers better. 💕Litsy 📚🦉 7y
kgriffith @BethFishReads autocomplete for hashtags is on my short list. (comment likes are on my medium-short list. 😉) 7y
PirateJenny I saw someone on the fb page complaining about non-book posts. LT isn't nearly as huge as Goodreads though. Anyway it would be cool if they could extend the review giveaways to Litsy. My LT name is the same--I've been there since the beginning. 7y
SilversReviews Thanks for sharing this and for tagging me. I LOVE Litsy‘s warm and welcoming feeling. I do NOT want that to change, but it would be nice to be able to enlarge photos, have a private message, and be able to have more than 451 characters for posts. I LOVE everything else about Litsy and ESPECIALLY the members. 7y
FantasyChick @Andrew65 I was honestly shocked at some of the comments I saw today on the FB discussion group. There were a lot of good suggestions but the main thing that stuck out was some people complaining about Litsy not being book exclusive. It reminded me of why I never go on FB anymore or use GR for anything other than a database. I love that we aren't like that. That's the main change I don't want to see. I waited too long to find my people to lose it 7y
SilversReviews @ValerieAndBooks That is a good idea about the tiled posts... 7y
JacqMac There are some great ideas here. I love that Litsy isn‘t book exclusive and as @MrBook said, I think it‘s important to keep it that way. It‘s what makes it so friendly here. And I have the same worry as @Kaye How will money come into play? That being said there are some changes that won‘t hurt. Being able to like comments and pm people would be very helpful. 7y
SilversReviews @melbeautyandbooks The family community is why I LOVE Litsy. 7y
SilversReviews @kgriffith Thanks for that link. It sounds as if LibraryThing will respect our community and our closeness. 7y
Melissa_J @ValerieAndBooks yes to the tiled look for posts! 7y
britt_brooke @silentrequiem I miss it!!! 😭 7y
alisiakae Thanks for the tag! I love that the top concern for most people is keeping Litsy the inclusive, safe space it has been. I definitely don‘t want that to change! 7y
Andrew65 @FantasyChick I got the impression some people were on there who Litsy isn‘t for and don‘t agree with the principles we have all developed as a community. I‘m not on Facebook but did look on the page, hence my comment we need the comments on Litsy and thanks @mrbook for setting this up. 👊 7y
Melissa_J This might be a strange request, but can we limit the number of hashtags used in each post? I don‘t like seeing posts that are basically nothing but a bunch of hashtags, most of which say the same thing in 20 different ways (I think that‘s a bookstagram thing). 7y
melbeautyandbooks @SilversReviews Yes! It‘s the best place on the internet. ❤️ 7y
BookaholicNatty I would love to be able to private message users. A better way to do posts as far as like the days of the week posts. And a way to share other users posts. I hope the swaps and postal groups and read alongs all stay the same. 7y
melbeautyandbooks @Andrew65 @FantasyChick That FB discussion got very un- Litsy like in a hurry. I have never seen that on Litsy. On FB yes, but Litsy no. 7y
teebe @JoeStalksBeck thiiis! Litsy has definitely grown but the most active users have been around awhile and we‘ve all interacted at some point? I feel like too much growth at once and it‘s going to get very... impersonal. Bookstagram often feels like people are shouting into a void wanting to be heard but not actually conversing. I hate to think of that happening here. (edited) 7y
Reviewsbylola I actually had the same though @melbeautyandbooks there was a heightened level of feistiness that we don‘t see too much over here. 😳 7y
BookaholicNatty I haven‘t been here for a super long time but I do love the way people are so kind and encouraging here. I would hope it wouldn‘t change a whole lot of things. I love Litsy! (edited) 7y
melbeautyandbooks @Reviewsbylola Glad to hear I wasn‘t the only one who thought that. 7y
BookaholicNatty @Reviewsbylola yesssss! You hit it on the head! 7y
jfalkens Thanks for the tag 😊 I don't want the feel of home to leave. I hate how everyone is so negative and against each other on Facebook and I feel like you guys are always here for me. I would like the option to edit a comment on Android and to heart(just the heart no other reaction, adds hate) a comment. I like that they are keeping posts newest to oldest. I'm just worried the feeling will change. 7y
jfalkens @teebe I really hope that doesn't happen here 7y
Cinfhen Ha, I‘m following the thread but holding back my thoughts @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks To say I‘m concerned would be an understatement 🙄😬I‘m all for growth and positive changes but I see this as a very dangerous new frontier... just hoping for the best and glad to know my friendships will last no matter what 7y
theresidentromantic It's kind of funny, I actually didn't get an email or a link to the Facebook thing. This post and several others are really where I'm getting most of my information. I've never even heard of this other company! 7y
Mdargusch I‘m with you @FantasyChick - the comments about making Litsy “book exclusive “ really concerned me. 7y
Bookzombie @Reviewsbylola @FantasyChick @melbeautyandbooks I agree. I was surprised at some of the comments and wondered if they were actively on Litsy. 7y
BookishMe @SilversReviews thanks for the tag💗💗 Improvement - able to view other books by same author. Inserting text on image is currently a nightmare, unless it's only one word or short phrase. Besides tech improvement, Litsy now is as perfect as it is! 7y
DebinHawaii @melbeautyandbooks @Reviewsbylola @FantasyChick @Bookzombie I agree on some of the FB discussion getting feisty. It was bumming me out so I stopped reading. 😔 (edited) 7y
Mdargusch Yes! @Reviewsbylola and @melbeautyandbooks x I was so surprised that there are people on Litsy saying those things. 7y
DGRachel Thanks for the tag @SilversReviews I‘ve been part of the Facebook convo, and yes...I was surprised by some of the spite that popped up over there that we don‘t see here (or maybe I just follow the right people). My biggest fear is losing our happy community, but I will remain cautiously optimistic until proven otherwise. 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage I wish there was a Reply All function for comments. Otherwise I reply to one person but have to type two+ others in manually. 7y
DGRachel Also, to echo @MrBook I love that we are Book-centric, not Book-exclusive. There are days that I only survive because you guys are here as understanding friends, not just fellow bookworms and I love you all so much. My life is richer for having you in it. 😘😘 7y
Bookzombie @BarbaraTheBibliophage I haven‘t sent this mentioned but a Reply All function would be great! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @teebe Yes to adding multiple photos to one post! 7y
BookishMe @ValerieAndBooks I agree it's inconvenient to scroll through individual posts without the tiles / gallery. But I imagine that's intentional by the app developers - to stay away from IG's fixation with gallery aesthetics. I know it can be time consuming and so much effort to stage and organize IG posts for a pleasing gallery. Here it's all about book content. Tt said, a faster way to view older posts will be nice ;)) 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Right now I hate that every time I add a comment to this ginormous thread, it doesn‘t bring me back to where I was. I am wasting a buttload of time scrolling back up to my last position. 7y
Andrew65 @DGRachel We definitely don‘t see it on here. @TimSpalding @kgriffith 7y
BookishMe I find some suggestions here are features found in IG. I wouldn't want Litsy to resemble IG 7y
Andrew65 @DGRachel As is ours for having you in it. 😍 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Auto fill for trending or popular hashtags. Pretty please! 7y
cathysaid I'm worried there will be a massive influx here on Litsy, and that will inevitably change the interaction...there's no way to avoid that...which makes me sad. Also, while some of the tech suggestions are great, how would they be accomplished without funding? (I'm woefully ignorant of programming and/or coding so maybe it's possible.) I also want to echo this sentiment: NO ALGORITHMS. 7y
DGRachel Thanks @Andrew65 😘 7y
Melissa_J I agree with pretty much every one of @BarbaraTheBibliophage ‘s suggestions. 7y
Andrew65 @cathysaid I‘m not convinced we‘ll see a massive influx. In the main Librarything is very different to Litsy and will complement each other. 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Cinfhen you‘re right about our friendships 😘😘 ❤️❤️ 7y
JenP @Reviewsbylola @melbeautyandbooks yes! I did comment over there but was surprised too at the level of complaining there which seems different that our discussions here. 7y
TheRomantiCate Ugh I don‘t like change!! Litsy is perfect as is!! 7y
cathysaid @Andrew65 I hope so! Do you know what the main incentive is from the perspective of Library Thing? Litsy doesn't generate money, so what is Library Thing gaining? 7y
JenP @MrBook and thanks for the tag although it did disappear when I came to the post but I saw you tagged me from the notifications 😬 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @FantasyChick I agree!! I had to stop reading those because I was getting so mad!! Hence the reason I‘m rarely on Facebook 🤬😡 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @BookaholicNatty I would like to see the private message added also!! 7y
JenP I feel like this is shelfari all over again - a site/app I love being bought by another company then changes I don‘t care for being implemented. I‘m concerned about some of the negativity on the Facebook page - not liking untitled book, etc. I like Library Thing but I love Litsy the way it is currently - although would love direct messaging 7y
Jess7 I had to get off of there too. It definitely makes me a little worried about Litsy. I really want the kindness that we share on here to remain - even as it gets bigger. 7y
SilversReviews @teebe @JoeStalksBeck I agree about too much growth. I love OUR Litsy Family 7y
Andrew65 @cathysaid That is a very good question. @TimSpalding @kgriffith What do you feel You are gaining from this? 7y
Andrew65 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Agreed to Facebook and the facility for Private Messages. 7y
Andrew65 @Jess7 I do hope @TimSpalding and @kgriffith pays more attention to the comments on here which we all feel are reflective of Litsy‘s very essence 💕, whereas on Facebook how do we know it is people that are active members of Litsy or left because wasn‘t right for them. 7y
Andrew65 @JenP Having been through this with Shelfari too it does make you worry. Then I also lost Leafmarks. Starting to think I am the Jonah! 😂 7y
kgriffith I think a reason we‘re seeing some negativity in the fb group is that it isn‘t curated like our friend feeds. We tend to follow others who have similar reading tastes, appreciate each other‘s brand of humor, like the kind of content they post. So the people who want strictly-book-posts, and those who enjoy being creative with their tagged books to post non-book content, probably aren‘t engaging much here. But all are littens so the group is mixed. 7y
Andrew65 @kgriffith A lot of us have progressed to here away from Facebook because of the Facebook issues, which is why IMHO I don‘t think Facebook is the right place to garner our opinions. That may have been what has led to giving us more anxiety, myself included.😬 @TimSpalding (edited) 7y
TheBookHippie Thx for this from a non fb person !!! Now to read it alllll 7y
JenP @Andrew65 ha ha, I was over on Leafmarks briefly too but abandoned ship before it went down bc I didn‘t like it. 7y
Andrew65 @TheBookHippie Give yourself a few hours 😂😂😂😂 7y
kgriffith @Andrew65 and @cathysaid I love Litsy and was excited at the prospect of working on and supporting it. I joined in Feb 2016 and when Jeff realized I knew my way around bug reporting, he would ask me to help test features and fixes. I got some great @outofprint swag for my efforts! 🤓 When Litsy needed a new home, Jeff and Todd came to LT because they saw the potential for improvement to Litsy, and knew our company culture would be a perfect fit. 7y
ValerieAndBooks @BookishMe I suggested that because there does need to be a faster way to find/view older posts 😊. Also, it might help with what one might want to look at -- if I go to someone's feed, I might want to skip over questionnaire posts, for example. 7y
Bookzombie @Andrew65 I wondered if those commenters were active on Litsy myself. I tried to search one by their name but no luck. I wish when they had posted their comments on Facebook they had give their Litsy name too just so @TimSpalding @kgriffith would know they were active members. Maybe I want too much, lol. 7y
cathysaid Also, why isn't @TimSpalding pitching in on this convo and telling us what's in it for LibraryThing? I think an understanding of incentives would alleviate at least some of my concerns. Curious as to how invested he will be when he's only posted twice on Litsy in the last two months? Truly curious, not judging. Anyone? 7y
TheBookHippie @Cinfhen I'm with you. Hoping for the best but afraid of this being another Facebook yikes which I don't have 😂😳. I like it as it is. We shall see....😭 7y
Andrew65 @Bookzombie I did think the same. Litsy handles would have been good. 😊 7y
cathysaid @kgriffith Thank you for that explanation. But you mention "company culture" at LT. How can a company acquire a free, community based app without any potential for profits? Am I missing something? I swear I read the email but I'm still a bit confused (obviously ?). (edited) 7y
TheBookHippie @Andrew65 good heavens ....I don't want a social media Facebook type site and I certainly don't want all that drama ....good gracious sakes. We are all so civilized here. ...and friends I would hate to lose that. Linking us to Facebook to talk is scary !!!!! And half of us don't have it for a reason. Just no. (edited) 7y
Jas16 One thing I would like that I haven‘t seen mentioned are separate shelves for TBR owned and TBR not owned. I like to send people surprise books from their TBRs on occasion and think I have inadvertently sent them things that they have already owned. 7y
kgriffith @cathysaid @Andrew65 Professionally, LT has tools to improve what littens want improved, and a reputation for member-driven decision-making on LT.com. If this platform that I‘ve enjoyed for over two years needs to join up with anyone to continue to thrive and grow, I wanted it to be us. I‘ve used every social media and bookish platform known to nerdkind, and only one earned my loyalty, until Litsy. Now two become, not one, but united. 7y
cathysaid @Jas16 Agreed! That would be great. 7y
kgriffith @cathysaid Tim likely isn‘t commenting because he‘s worked around the clock on assembling everything necessary for this announcement and there‘s no way he can keep up with the volume of comments. Im getting dozens every half hour myself. I‘m only commenting off the clock because it‘s more fun and fulfilling than writing the essay I should be working on 😏 7y
Andrew65 @kgriffith Thanks for that and great that you are a long term member and passionate supporter of Litsy 😊👍🙌, I just feel setting up a Facebook page for views (as communicated by many of us above) wasn‘t the best way to go. As I said earlier this has been our haven FROM Facebook. @TimSpalding (edited) 7y
Bklover I‘m with @Cinfhen ! The only thing I would add is that this fb connection makes me nervous. It‘s already a bit mean out there. This is above all a kind place. I‘d hate to see that change. @TimSpalding @kgriffith (edited) 7y
Andrew65 @TheBookHippie Well said, 😍 7y
Andrew65 @Bklover Hear Hear! 🙌 7y
JacqMac @Andrew65 I want to like so many of your comments. See how helpful that feature would be. 😂 @BarbaraTheBibliophage I would also love a way to reply all. 7y
aschermetz Thanks for the tag! I echo a lot of the sentiments here. My fear is losing the wonderful community aspect. I worry that a large influx of users will damage that. Secondarily, I‘d love to be able to search by reviews, and along the same lines, be able to click on my OWN Read list and be taken to the post where I reviewed the book. 7y
dariazeoli I said this on FB, but count me as +1 for direct messaging ability, post filtering, better book data, ability to stack owned books, & seeing who follows you back.

I‘d also like the ability to mark posts as read or filter my feed to see new posts. And I‘d like the ability to hide posts that might be upsetting - we all have different triggers and I don‘t think barring posts accomplishes things. That “book posts only” thread made me really worried.
7y
Andrew65 @JacqMac 😂😊👍 7y
Floresj I love that Litsy is for readers, by readers. I hate that Goodreads is owned by Amazon and I get promoted books. I trust the Litsy readers to find books that widen my reading sphere. To change: I want to be able comment on someone's comment. That being said, I'm really nervous that my favorite app is going to get Facebook-ed.😞 7y
Andrew65 @dariazeoli Book posts only would be the death knell for Litsy. @kgriffith @TimSpalding 7y
dariazeoli Filtering/hiding could solve things for those Littens who don‘t seem to value non-book content without making our community confined. Litsy is best when open to what each of us makes it! 7y
CareBear I agree with almost of all what is being said here. I understand that there are differing opinions on non-book related posts, but I‘m in favor of being less restrictive than more restrictive. Those that don‘t want to see those kind of posts can scroll past them or unfollow people who post them. That‘s their prerogative just like it‘s others to post “book-centric” posts. I don‘t think some should lose the option because others prefer not to. 7y
CareBear Also @kgriffith sincere thanks for engaging and responding. 💕 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Andrew65 I would advise you not to Andrew.. I just looked at some of them and got aggravated... 😡🤬 I‘m going to have to go to bed!!! 7y
Andrew65 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Me too, it‘s now 1.30 am and up at 6! 7y
PenguinInFlight I said this on Facebook, but I love the 451 character limit. Not only for the literary nod, but because it keeps things concise. I don‘t care for GR reviews that are full of gifs, pictures, quotes...I really want to hear if you liked/didn‘t like it, and discuss in comments. Longer reviews can go tons of other places. 7y
PenguinInFlight @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I had to close FB because it was making my anxiety skyrocket. I decided to follow here, instead. 7y
kgriffith @CareBear You‘re very welcome. Y‘all are my bookish family too, that doesn‘t change because I‘m an admin; if anything, it makes it more important to me to voice my feelings as a Litten first and foremost. 💜 7y
Ingerella I don't know anything about Library Thing, but I know that I love Litsy because it's simple and SO incredibly positive and supportive. The thought of it changing is scary. I don't really need it to improve..I like it now! 7y
Melissa_J @JenP what happened with Shelfari is the first thing that came to mind when I heard the news. I‘ll remain positive and hope for the best, but I‘d be lying if I said I wasn‘t worried. 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @TheBookHippie 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 7y
Megabooks @kgriffith As someone who is on the “to follow” list, I enjoy being there, but I definitely think there should be some updates and/or additions. I‘d also like to see direct messaging and videos in addition to pictures. As many people have said, a non-linear and/or algorithmic timeline would be a deal breaker. I‘ve been a part of Litsy since week three and am excited to see what LT will bring!! 👍🏻👍🏻 7y
BookishMe @ValerieAndBooks yes there has to be a better way to view specific posts without the current scrolling nor a gallery. Tech & design experts need to figure that out ;)) 7y
cathysaid @kgriffith Thanks for the commentary and feedback. 7y
ValerieAndBooks @BookishMe exactly— I‘m far from being a tech person 😂! 7y
Megabooks @BethFishReads so agree about the audiobooks. Definitely should be able to show differently. I made that suggestion awhile back through the shake option. Idk what happened to it. 7y
cariashley Phew am still digesting the news (my initial reaction: 😐) and have just read lots of the comments. I‘d been having some slight premonitions lately given there were so few updates to the app, so I honestly was expecting worse news. I echo what a lot of you have said - somehow keeping this as a safe and supportive community is KEY. This place is a miracle in that way. And ads will suck but I can‘t imagine they won‘t be in our future, unfortunately! 7y
BethFishReads @Booksandcooks I‘ve suggested a couple of times. Hope we can get that. More worried about losing the family feel. 7y
Jess7 I love this community and all of you. 🤗 I‘m glad to see even if there is a difference of opinions, this thread is still kind and respectful. 🤗 I definitely appreciate the drama free, book centric nature of Litsy! It‘s a phenomenal app. I can‘t say enough good things about it! 📚📚 (edited) 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Jess7 I agree with you!!! 😘❤️😘❤️ 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Andrew65 go to bed!!! Goodnight 🌙💤😴 7y
TimSpalding 206 posts? Ack. Quick points! (1) Definitely won‘t be doing non-chronological feeds. I could see some filtering some day but not reordering. (2) fwiw, I find The FB discussion pretty friendly. I‘m going to more there, because it‘s for everyone and I need more than 451 to respond to so much. (3) The most important thing is preservation. We want to help, and have seen good ideas. But we aren‘t going to upend things. 7y
Megabooks Thank you @kgriffith for your tireless work today! @TimSpalding Thank you for the reassurance. 7y
Megabooks @Jess7 Well said! 7y
Megabooks @BethFishReads So agreed! I do Litsy instead of FB because I like the closeness here more. 7y
TimSpalding To above, about profit. So we‘re not against profit, but we take the long view, and we look for creative options. LibraryThing is now largely supported by what we sell to libraries. LibraryThing is part of that, but it‘s not exploitative. Litsy is not under pressure here—if it was before, it is not now. It‘s cheap to run and good. If it helps LibraryThing, or can make libraries happy, all the better. 7y
SilversReviews @DGRachel Yes......cautiously optimistic is how I will go as well. 7y
TK421 @Jess7 I agree with you about the Litsy community. We have it pretty good. It is rare to see people get nasty with one another on here. For the most part we seem to respect each other's opinions, no matter how they differ. I would hate to see our nice corner of the internet changed to the extent that people don't feel safe or comfortable posting about what they love. 7y
Lea I would like to see hashtags auto populate like on other platforms. A better book search. Many lesser known authors don‘t have all their books posted in the “library”. I am in the seemingly unpopular keep it book centric group - otherwise it‘s basically another IG. 7y
Melissa_J @TimSpalding thank you for popping in! I do hope you‘ll continue to check out the posts here and not just those on FB as not all of us Littens are FB users and, given this is about Litsy, we want to ensure our voices are also heard. 7y
TimSpalding A bit more. 1. We are NOT planning more ads. They‘d make no money and turn people off. 2. I understand the push-back about FB, but we needed somewhere Litsy people could talk together, so we could get feedback and think about the future. At this point Litsy is 2/3 culture and community, not features. We want to gather everyone and talk—something that hasn‘t happened before, and for which there is no feature. IDK, but I can‘t see a better option. 7y
mcipher I‘m nervous but hopeful that things won‘t change too much. This is the only social media I use because it‘s such a lovely supportive community and I feel safe here. If that doesn‘t change, I‘m happy. 7y
MrBook Thank you for weighing in, @TimSpalding ! It reassures a lot of us. 7y
JacqMac Thanks @TimSpalding It‘s good to know that you are making preservation a priority. I think we all needed to hear that. 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @TimSpalding You hit the nail on the head: “⅔ culture and community” is the absolute truth. I‘ll sleep better tonight knowing your team “gets” that about Litsy. Thanks for listening! 7y
DivineDiana @MrBook Thank you for the tag! Wow! Just got back on and am actually kind of scared. I have obviously missed an important announcement. I am hoping things don‘t change too much. My happy place. Scanning improvement ideas and all sound great! I would like to create groups for ease of communication with buddyreads, Litsymeetupgroups etc. 7y
vkois88 Thank you for the tag. I agree with the general consensus that we all love the community that we have going on. It has been such a wonderful place to come meet people who are of like minds, and discuss books. We also know that we are there if you just need a blah post. 7y
PenguinInFlight @TimSpalding thank you for clarifying some points, especially the “2/3 culture and community”. Litsy is the safest and most supportive community I have ever been a part of, and I‘m so glad that your team recognizes that. I know this must be stressful and hectic for the mods, getting pummeled from all sides with questions and suggestions and complaints. Thank you for taking the time to update us. 7y
CouronneDhiver I really hope that the elements that make this app so unique are preserved and protected. Here‘s to the next phase 🍷 7y
Lreads @TimSpalding @MrBook I love Litsy. It's my only social media as I find other sites toxic. I'm not on Facebook. I won't join Facebook. Are you sure the input you are getting on your Facebook group is from actual people who use Litsy? Non-users can cause damage. Discussions SHOULD happen here simultaneously. 7y
Cinfhen @TheBookHippie @Bklover @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I‘ve NEVER been on FB and I have no intention to ever be...I love Litsy for its intimacy and hope that won‘t change but unfortunately that‘s not being realistic 😢I do think the core group of individuals who have been active on Litsy will find a way to stay connected and embrace a new day together 💕 7y
LiteraryinPA I just read all of the comments. The most important thing to me is to keep the supportive/book-nerd/caring/family vibe. I feel like you guys are “my people!” I love the suggestions to -add a Favorite option above Pick -easily find my own previous post about a book -separate TBR Own and Don‘t Own -be able to filter swap/giveaway/Friyay posts from other posts -keep the 451 limit -creating groups could be helpful. 7y
tpixie Lol 233 comments! Love our Littens!! 7y
Megabooks @QuietlyLaura much agree! Discussions here should be heard equally. 7y
NCNY I just joined LT on Saturday so I feel good about this. One thing I'd like to be able to do is see a quick list of all the users who rated a book. We sort of know whose opinions we value so if we see a list, we could get a feel for if the book might work for us. Maybe if we click on the percent on the book page, we could get a list of users by category. 7y
GypsyKat Thanks @MrBook for hosting this discussion. I haven‘t spoken up much about this today mainly because I didn‘t want to add my voice to the fray. But I do want to say a couple of things. First off, I don‘t think this is worth stressing over for the simple fact that it‘s entirely out of our control. And this might be good for Litsy in a lot of ways. Change is always scary, but Litsy is more than a community, we‘re a family. We are in this together.💗 7y
Bourriquet76 I haven‘t looked too hard at LT, simply because I don‘t pay for websites. The fee structure is a turnoff, so ensuring Litsy stays a free community is important to me and usage is not contingent on any paid LT membership. 7y
sammisho Thanks @MrBook for having this discussion here, and for being the heart and soul of Litsy. I don't like change, and have been pretty anxious all day about this. But between this thread and the FB group, I am feeling so much better about all this. I feel like Litsy can survive this and still maintain everything I love about it. ❤ 7y
CindyMyLifeIsLit Wow! I just got on to get hit with this bombshell! I‘m not really familiar with LT, but the fact that other Littens use it makes me feel a little better. Like many others, I‘m concerned about this new twist, but I‘ve lived long enough to learn that everything changes eventually. I just really hope it will be a positive change! Re new features: I second @jas16 suggestion for TBR Owned and TBR Not Owned. I, too, like to buy gifts from TBR lists. 7y
tpixie @sammisho well said! 7y
tpixie @Bourriquet76 I believe Littens will get free access. 7y
BookwormAHN @Jas16 @CindyMyLifeIsLit I would like to third the idea of separate tbr lists of owned and not owned. Also I'm not on Facebook very often. So thank you @MrBook for the discussion and @SilversReviews for the tag 👏 7y
BarbaraBB I‘ve been on LibraryThing for years and am very happy with it (though I‘ve been less active since joining Litsy). I had completely forgotten that I paid once to become a lifelong member. I am not for paying but it might be a way to avoid needing advertising. And that is worth a lot. Compared to GR it looks less flashy but that is what I like: it is more about books than looks. It is basically a very good catalogue with options to join groups... 7y
BarbaraBB ... and to review books. I don‘t want Litsy to grow or change too much but I really do think LT might be the best option (compared to GR, Amazon, Facebook etc.). 7y
rwmg Anybody else's productivity at work completely shot to hell today? 7y
Andrew65 Thanks @Timspalding for popping in and for some reassuring comments. Whilst I hear what you are saying about Facebook with 246 comments I think whilst there is no feature for general comments and discussion (First action point on to do list?) this discussion point on here seems to work quite well and effectively. @kgriffith could easily do a New post each day for discussion using the hashtag #LitstyonLt and a lot of us very active users 👇 7y
Andrew65 Would repost to spread the word. This has worked very effectively in the past and amazing how word gets round. Doing this and tagging people does get the word out there. At least that way you would know you are listening to Active Littens that are committed to the site. The core base that are very important. @TimSpalding @kgriffith (edited) 7y
julesG Good morning. Just read all of the comments. I'm all for progress and new features but I'm also afraid we'll lose our community/family vibe. Just my two cents. 😉 7y
laurieluna @julesG exactly what Jules said! I don't use facebook for that reason. It's just one big advert and I hardly saw my friends posts so I deleted. Instagram is going the same way and if it doesn't improve over the next month it will be deleted. I love Litsy due to it's simple layout and e 7y
laurieluna How easy it is to interact with each other. The only thing I would change is maybe a group tab for read alongs/book exchanges. 7y
tpixie @kgriffith @TimSpalding thanks for listening to us Littens!! I agree with the other old-timers - I love that we are Book-centric, not Book-exclusive. That‘s how we‘ve become a loving community. That‘s a reason to keep it to 451 characters- for our community. We don‘t want to read s long dissertation here, we want to converse. #LitsyOnLT (edited) 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Cinfhen I think you are right and I‘m not going to stress about it anymore... Our friendships will remain no matter what!! ❤️❤️😘😘 7y
Heideschrampf Phew... as always i'm late on the discussion and have a lot to add, but i will put my personal wishlist for improvements on either FB or an email to the team, since litsy's make-up is clearly not made for thread/group structure we would need to efficiently discuss long term. And i like it that way. 451 characters, no more. Simple (hash)tags and no seperate "places" for swaps etc... everything, unfiltered and ? 7y
Heideschrampf ... condensed (haha) in chronological order. Uninterupted by ads or alorithmically favoured VIPs. And from what i gather from the LT team so far, this is what they seem to want to keep alive after all. I AM anxious for whats in store but i am very happy to see @kgriffith and @TimSpalding engage here and showing a general interest into what the community wants/needs. So for now, you have my vote of confidence! (edited) 7y
Chrissyreadit @kgriffith @TimSpalding thank you for your answers and engagement. I‘m a longtime user of goodreads, but never knew LibraryThing existed. I‘m excited to explore your site. My favorite thing about litsy has been connecting with people who are passionate about reading and sharing in all posts, because I like getting to know readers. It is my favorite social media platform. I like how simple it is and how creative people get. 7y
Godmotherx5 Thank you @MrBook @TimSpalding for providing insight and direction. 7y
Lizpixie No one tagged me but I‘m giving my opinion anyway!🧐 There‘s a few things that would be awesome to see 1. Ability to enlarge photos for all us book stalkery types! 2. Private messaging function. 3. Update the photo editor with more stickers, frames etc. 4. A search function to make it easier to find a specific post you‘re looking for. I hope the community benefits from this, instead of turning into another Facebook clone.👍 7y
Megabooks @LiteraryinLititz Great ideas!! Agree 💯 👍🏻👍🏻 7y
MrBook Aww, @Lizpixie , I tagged you but your handle got lost with a couple dozen other wonderful Littens' 😕. Trying to figure out how to avoid that happening in the future. I think I'll do a bunch of smaller chunks instead of one or two large ones. Sorry about that. 🙈 7y
Lizpixie No worries @MrBook sometimes my sense of humour doesn‘t translate to the written word!🤷🏻‍♀️ 7y
MrBook @Lizpixie In that case 😁☺️🤗🤗🤗 7y
SaturnDoo What? Really? How disappointing😭 Ty for the tag @BookaholicNatty I have been busy the last couple days and just now seeing this. Being realistic, there is an ulterior motive for this takeover and it probably isn't for the benefit of keeping Litsy exactly what we Littens have made it to be. We have made it a HOME, A FAMILY, A COMMUNITY where we feel safe to do fun activities such as swaps, pen pals etc etc. 7y
SaturnDoo IMHO this will turn out to be the same disaster as the AMAZON/GR/SHELFARI ordeal. I have read through the comments and have the same feelings that have already been expressed. I hope that many of us take the time now to exchange emails or form yahoo groups or whatever so that we stay in touch. I tried LT a few years ago and wasn't impressed especially to pay for it 😡😡😡 7y
SilversReviews Did you see that e-mail from LibraryThing? It makes me feel a bit better. It says: Both communities are wonderful for their own, separate strengths and we don‘t want to hamper that. :) I hope they adhere to this statement. (edited) 7y
Ubookquitous I'm quietly following the discussions and am cautiously optimistic- I don't mind change so long as it improves in a way that benefits the culture of the community. 7y
LeahBergen I‘m popping in here ( @MrBook ... I hope you had tagged ME and it simply got bumped?? 😆😘) . I‘m so glad that I stuck my head in the sand and avoided reading all the nasty comments on FB. Yikes. That right there is one of the reasons that I‘ve basically stopped using Facebook and live on Litsy. I really think we are going to be okay, though, you all. We are a close-knit and caring community. ❤️❤️ 7y
dgingo @MrBook Thanks for the tag! A colleague showed me her LT account after the big announcement and there are some cool features; however, while I‘m new to Litsy, I already love this community—you are all my people! As far as what should stay the same—the community and the chronological posts (although I wouldn‘t be opposed to some filtering options). Changes? The ability to scan barcodes of books, to send private direct messages, & a website version. 7y
MrBook @LeahBergen Oh, you better believe your shadow tagged you! 😎🙌🏻 7y
FountainBookstore @MrBook? somebody tagged me somewhere on this thing. You?. @TimSpalding thank you for being so available. Reiterating what I said on FB, any association with Amazon would cause us to delete our account (which is really just me - Kelly Justice, owner of the shop). Secondly, I want to see Litsy survive, for that it has to grow which means it needs to make some money. I'm ok with more ads if it means survival of my beloved Litten-scape. 📚❤️ 7y
MrBook @FountainBookstore Lol, I'm almost certain it was me, but a lot of tags got erased somehow. You may have been one of them 😕. 7y
TimSpalding Honestly, ads won‘t help. But it doesn‘t matter—Litsy has the space to grow. Probably at some point we‘ll figure out how to make libraries participate and have that be part of our paid library service. 7y

**Book tagged is book 3 in the series**
This was a good addition to this #kindlecrack series about hit-men who find love. This one starts off in a weird place, but it's a cute, quick read with a sweet sentiment. Read my full review on my new blog!

Heaven help me, I have stumbled into a super-cheesy sex book and I can‘t get stop reading it.

Maybe if the sex scenes were 🔥🔥🔥 I could better handle the excessive cringeyness. Alas, they are not. 🙄

#WhereDoIFindTheseBooks #HowDidThisGetOnMyKindle

AllenTStClair That IS cringeworthy. And I read all the Fifty Shades books. 🤣 7y
sprainedbrain @AllenTStClair yeah, this makes Fifty Shades and maybe even After seem like solid writing. 😂 7y
ReviewsbytheMrs Sometimes I ask myself the same question, “How did this get on my Kindle!” 😂💜 7y

theresidentromantic I can give you some good recommendations for better #kindlecrack if you want! I definitely couldn't get through that! Or Fifty Shades lol 7y
LittlePixels LOL, I too can relate to the question "how did this get on my Kindle?" ? Usually, the answer is that I mindlessly downloaded it during the early Kindle days of '07 and '08 when just being free was enough to gain instant entry to my Kindle. So. Much. Crap. Was downloaded. ??‍♀️ 7y
julesG @LittlePixels What she said! 7y
sprainedbrain @LittlePixels @julesG @ReviewsbytheMrs I have soooooo much crap from my days of snatching up the kindle freebies! This was most likely one of those acquisitions. 😂 7y
sprainedbrain @theresidentromantic I will gladly take any recommendations you have! (I will still finish this train wreck, though.) 😂 7y
LibrarianRyan I enjoyed this series. Yeah it has its cheesy moments but most erotica does. I used to recommend it for my patrons who wanted to try erotica because it has a solid focus on the woman and her pleasure. It approaches all the aspects of a sexual relationship with a woman finding out what she likes. It is much easier for a novice to jump into than 50 shades. 7y
sprainedbrain @LibrarianRyan maybe that‘s my problem... I‘m not a novice! I‘m going to finish it but I doubt I will read the others. 7y
Pamwurtzler @sprainedbrain @julesG @LittlePixels @ReviewsbytheMrs Oh God yes. So much crap was downloaded back then that I moved it all to a collection just to get it out of my sight. I‘ll probably never read it all. 😀 (edited) 7y
theresidentromantic @sprainedbrain I honestly never go for #kindlecrack freebies. If you don't want me to pay for it, there's probably a reason no one's buying it. I usually stay at .99 and above lol I recommend both the Ivy and Molly books of Sierra Simone, all of Charlotte Stein, A. Zavarelli, and all of Madison Faye. Madison Faye is truly bad, but it's not badly written and you get about three novellas per book. I'd start with her royals. Happy Reading! 7y
LibrarianRyan @sprainedbrain I wasn't a movie when I read it either. About the only book in the series I didn't like was the last one. 7y
