“Well... what would you do, if your mother asked you?“
This is the perfect book for helping young children learn how to read! It's very entertaining with great rhyming schemes. I would love to use this book in my classroom one day.

I used to love reading and listening to Dr. Seuss books. The Cat in the Hat is one of my favorites. I love this book because of the silly imagery and the funny rhymes. This is an absolute classic that every child should have in their library.
The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Suess, 1957. This story starts out with two siblings who are bored in their house with nothing to do. Then walks in a tall and human-like cat that walks and talks. The cat marches in and begins to show the children fun games and tricks. Although he wants to have fun, he brings chaos into the house by making messes and bringing in his pals thing 1 and thing 2. Luckily, the cat and his pals clean up just in time!
I love Dr. Suess books because they are so silly and creative! This book is very unique in that it portrays a cat who walks and talks like a human! This book would be great for preschool and school-age children to enjoy!
“Too wet to go out and too cold to play ball. So we sat in the house. We did nothing at all.“
This is my quote about reading. I love and grew up with Dr. Seuss. Want to play @StayCurious. Thanks for the tag, @Eggs
I'm back!
Please accept my offering of a morning blep pic as apology for my long absence.
For some reason, my Litsy app stopped working. I tried to uninstall and reinstall it, but was unable to. It was only this morning discovered I can utilize it through the website without the app.
I have a lot of catching up to do on posting what I've been reading!

Day 66.
Here I will note 365 books (or as many as I will have before I get tired) that have shaped my taste in literature. No explanations, no reviews. Just the cover of the book.
I do not challenge anyone. You are all welcome to take part.
I definitely thought this was going to mean “it‘s the cat‘s fault” 😹
Hmmm
Library is a little dead tonight but at least I have The Cat to keep me company.
I would much rather be at home reading but looks like I am spending what could end up being one of the last nice days of the year stuck inside at work. 😞🤷♀️🍁
Reading The Cat in the Hat to my little man and realizing that he is Thing One and Thing Two all wrapped up into one dude!!! 😅🤪
October 2 2020:
Husband and I visited the Dr. Seuss Museum :)
I was not a huge huge fan of Dr. Seuss growing up but.. I do enjoy his whimsical stories :)
Not book related. But I couldn‘t resist ... For all you Litsy cat lovers .... #CatsofLitsy ... was a pic in the paper today .... 😽

1. I‘ve read almost all of Dr. Seuss‘ books last year. This year I‘m working on Kris Radish. Next year I‘m going to start on SK (maybe buddy reads with @ElizaMarie )
2. Not really. I don‘t read much romance.
3. Maybe ten. Not many because my disability only allows me to wear certain shoes.

This well-known P book written and illustrated by Theodore Geisel aka Dr. Seuss is a timeless classic that students love! The Cat in the Hat is about a crazy cat who pays a visit to Sally and Sam while their mother is out and he has a few tricks up his sleeve, but somehow this crazy cat ends up teaching the children a very important lesson. This is great book for PR and can be used in a lesson on poetry or a lesson about Dr. Seuss. #ucflae3414su30

I heard “rumors” these signs were put up all over town but I did not get out in my car all week until today. Toured the town. These signs were everywhere. I am grateful for the parents & admin who did this for us.

Both of my sons‘ classes have been celebrating #readacrossamerica with something fun each day. Today, is “Fun Food Friday” so I made cupcakes for my second grader‘s class. Hope the kids like them!
My kindergartner‘s class is making green eggs and ham. Can‘t wait to hear how that went. 😆
#MagnificentMarch #DrSeuss Any time, any day is a good day for Seuss! The Cat in the Hat & Green Eggs and Ham are the original ones I had as a kid, The Lorax was a recent thrift store find.
It was a pleasure to get to read to two kindergarten classes as part of #readacrossamericaday 😁📚📖
Confession: I‘ve never read #DrSeuss.
Should I?

Happy Read Across America Day! They got me into the costume again!!! That‘s my husband and son who love to see me be goofy at my store.
ICYMI, we‘ll be adding another member to the s‘moores in July! Photo is from our trip to Universal, after I had just found out about the pregnancy.
It was a really tough 2019 for me with lots of uncertainty, sick family members, stressful situations and roles, and just general hard life things. This baby is a welcome redemption and the start of something new and beautiful for our family. We are beyond excited.
Read this to some of my kids at the tutoring center. #impulseread #wintergames #tmskellington @Crimson613 @StayCurious @Clwojick
“So all we could do is sit sit sit sit, and we did not like it, not one little bit.“ This quote is something kids can relate to because all kids have been bored before.
Another reason I love this book is the rhyming and beat the story has. This is a perfect book for children just beginning to learn how to read. If they don't know fully how to pronounce the word, they can use the word it rhymes with for context.
“The Cat in the Hat“ by Dr. Suess, 1957. Picture book. This is one of the first books I fell in love with as a kid. Suess has a very specific way of illustrating his characters which I love. The Cat in the Hat and other Dr. Suess books are a huge part of American literature.
In the future I would use this book to help talk about creativity. The book follows to kids that are bored in a house and excitement is brought to them a visitor.
This picture book is easily a classic. Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat is an easy to read book that goes along great with the pictures. The Pictures in this book are what help bring you into it. It is such a unique style that is soft and sweet on the eyes.
This poetry picture book is a classic story by the famous Dr. Seuss about a cat who wears a red and white striped hat and visits two siblings, a boy and a girl while their mother is away. The cat shows them many different ways of entertainment with the help of two things, Thing 1 and Thing 2. This story would work well as a RA because it is a very fun book to get the whole class engaged. #ucflae3414f19
