#TBRtarot @CBee My season in the title book pick for this month was pretty good! It is def not your grandma‘s Nutcracker. I loved seeing the familiar Nutcracker elements in what is such a fantastical (and very dark) story. Inspired by the Nutcracker it had many of the characters, creatures and settings of the original story but is really about a girl Clara trying to save her family and conquer her fears.

I struggled with this read, which made me so sad because I really really wanted to love it. The premise sounds amazing and I loved Furyborn and Sawkill Girls, so I had high hope for this one, but I found three quarters of it super slow and most of the action packed into the last quarter.

It's the middle of winter on my side of the world & right now this is what I wish I could do instead of going to work. A little unmotivated today, & wishing I could read all day in my warm house with a nice cuppa.

We got about six inches of snow last night, and thankfully school was canceled‼️

Such an amazing story with complex characters! I loved this book so much, perfect read for December.
