What makes you smile, even on tough days?

I learned to look for simple pleasures in everyday routines. It really does focus your attention on what matters most.

First of all I got this on audible and Derrens voice is just perfect for an audio book!
I found this engaging and nothing like I thought it would be
He talks about philosophy, religion, stoicism and the law of attraction and picks them apart
There‘s an interesting part about why constant positive thinking is damaging and places blame on the victim
It was a really great listen and would definitely recommend

My 2021 word is ...... Happy
I spent so much of last year stressed over everything. This year, I want to decompress and focus back on the good things in my life and stop worrying about everything else. I want to be happy and hopeful again.

Wonderful, challenging read. I've found Derrren Brown's writing an absolute joy to read in the past and this deep dive into stoicism is no different. In other hands this could be a dry read but it was an a complete pleasure from start to finish.

2. I haven't really finished anything but am in the middle of 2. Favourite so far would Happy by Derrren Brown
3. Not sure I have a preference. Maybe around 400-500 mark, but happy to go longer for non fiction or a really good read.

Very much enjoying this book so far and nice to be reading, albeit sporadically, again.

I'm walking on cloud nine. On Monday, my library will offer curbside service. I'm grateful for my Kindle, but I can now order books that I need and don't want to purchase or can't find. Happy Mother's Day to me.

Hoping this can get me back into the flow of things. I think this may be April's #bookspin selection! I've heard mixed things, so let's see what it brings. That being said, I'm generally a fan of Derren Brown's writing so I've got my fingers crossed for this one

This was surprisingly excellent!
I think the cover is ironic. This book looks at lots of different philosophies and religions and deconstructs them in a respectful way. It has a similar vibe to Sapiens, but unlike Sapiens, Happy seems to have flown under the radar.
I definitely recommend.

I‘m working on some CEUs (marriage and family therapists are required to do these 😛!) at the dining room table right now but I like my view so it‘s okay 👌🏻.

Derren Brown, always so eloquent, even on social media. This bookshop sounds completely arousing though.

I may go home tomorrow for my #rehab-minibreak. 🎉🎉🎉

I'm not supposed to have any stress - we'll see how that works out. 😉

Good thing is, I can not only see my kids and my cats, and do the laundry, but I can also decide which book I'm going to read next.

I didn‘t get as far as I have in previous #24in48 , but I am pretty happy with how much reading I did get in. I completed 7 books. Most of them were children‘s book as I was also participating in the #throwbackreadathon . 🙂

Tip for me: Staying up late just made you sleep even later than normal, which made you less productive in all things. 😆
