January 1st #WinterRedathon #WinterRedathonDailyChallenge

Here we re in the New Year, so for today‘s Dily Challnge post bout a book you are looking forward to being published in 2023 or something else you are looking forward to.

For me I‘d love to say it was a new book in the Song Of Fire and Ice Series by George R R Martin, or a new book in the Kingkiller Chronicle Series book by Patrick Rothfuss, but have almost given up on those. 👇

Andrew65 So will settle for a new book for a long time in the Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan.

MoonWitch94 I totally agree about A Song of Ice & Fire! Given up all hope 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣😂 2y
BookwormAHN I have a little hope that Martin will finish The Song of Ice and Fire but I've given up on The King Killer Chronicles 😸 2y
CocoReads Idk what I‘m looking forward to in 23. I try to keep my expectations low. Im looking forward to continuing/catching up with the Lucas Davenport series (currently only 3 or 4 books to go I think). Im looking forward to some of my book group reads—Demon Copperhead and Unmask Alice are the standouts when I look at my stack. On a personal front-I hope the interest rates drop and we find a house that fits our dreams and needs. 2y
IamIamIam Still desperately waiting for a second volume to 2y
Kenyazero That's super exciting! 2y
Andrew65 @Kenyazero Definitely, especially after so long a break. 2y
Read4life This just jumped to the top of my Most Anticipated list 🤓 2y
Andrew65 @Read4life 😂😂😂 Plenty will be looking forwards to this. 2y
TheSpineView I have begun to believe that the 3rd book in the King Killer series does not exist. Total fantasy! Pun intented!😅 2y
Andrew65 @TheSpineView I can definitely see why. 2y
DieAReader 💜💜💜 2y
Velvetfur I'm looking forward to reading a sweet-looking little book I was given a few years ago called 'Mrs Harris Goes To Paris' because it's recently come out as a film! Then watch the films, obvs 😊 Along the George RR Martin theme, I also wanna read 'Fire and Blood' which I've had for a few years and need to read at least some of before watching 'House of the Dragon' 😂 2y
Andrew65 @Velvetfur Some good choices here! Should be a good reading year for you. 2y

LibrarianRyan I can not wait for the Percy Jackson book either. But what I really want is for them to do more Illustrated books in the series. They did the lightning thief but then stopped. UGHHHH 2y
Andrew65 @LibrarianRyan A real shame they stopped there. 2y

CBee I love that Brits call it a jumper; in fact, I might like that better than sweater! I‘d much rather jump than sweat 😂😂😂 2y
Andrew65 @CBee I wonder where the word jumper came from. 2y
Andrew65 @CBee This link gives the derivation of the word, amazing what you learn on a Readathon 😂 https://www.reference.com/world-view/sweater-called-jumper-4d2c19609e80845 (edited) 2y
CBee @Andrew65 oh thank you! I had a feeling “sweater” had something to do with actual sweating 😂😂 2y
Andrew65 @CBee Interesting where words come from. Sweater is quite a strange choice too. 2y
MatchlessMarie @Andrew65 love it lol I feel like I have been picking up a lot of UK phrases this past year as I have mostly listened to UK Indie and Brit Pop for music. I think pranged out and spanner are some of my favorites. 2y
Andrew65 @MatchlessMarie Amazing the different words used both sides of the Atlantic. 2y
marleed it's only this year that i realized a UK jumper equates to a US sweater. And now i notice it over and over - to my complete entertainment.
2y
Andrew65 @marleed Strange how that happens. 2y
AnnR I still remember 'jumper' from the Harry Potter movies. That's when I first made the connection and realized Mrs. Weasley meant sweater. 2y
Andrew65 @Ann_Reads Surprised that they didn‘t change the terminology for the film. (edited) 2y
marleed @Ann_Reads I‘ve noticed it so often this year. It makes me wonder where my head was in the many (many) years I didn‘t make the connection. In my head a jumper is the skirt version of bib overalls - although not necessarily made of denim. I wonder it I was always picturing that. 2y
