Grabbed this from my bookcase on a whim. Read the Introduction, & short stories ā€Jane Austen‘s Nightmareā€¯ by Syrie James, & ā€Jane Austen,Yeah,Yeah,Yeahā€¯ Both stories were widely different and entertaining in their own ways. I really enjoyed reading them. It‘s the kind of book for me that I will just dive into on and off when I feel like it.

And now for the truly dreadful. This one is all about someone buying a supposed Signed 1st Edition of Pride & Prejudice. You have main character who is 'expert' in Austen saying 'Jane wouldn't have autographed'. But doesn't know that 1st Edition wasn‘t book but 3 Volumes???

I can suspend disbelief a bit but not to the point where you don't even get basic facts right. It's like the writers didn't even do a Google search. š¤¦š¸»ā€¨ā™€ļø¸ #pemberlittens

Today‘s #audiosouping pick. I actually started this one a couple of years ago as a library e-book but didn‘t get far. I though I‘d enjoy it more as an audiobook & I do. The first story is Jane Austen‘s Nightmare where Jane on a late night walk in Bath encounters her characters come to life-many unhappy with how she portrayed them. The soup is a quick one, a Greek Avgolemono variation & so a short story format is perfect. Finished soup pic to come.

In this collection of short stories inspired by the works of Jane Austen, there are some hits and some misses. I enjoyed most the stories that expanded on the perspectives of some of the more minor characters. I enjoyed less the modernizations.

I had chocolate orange mousse for dinner. Don't judge me.š†The prettied up version will be on my blog tomorrow for my virtual foodie book club post. This one suffered from being pulled from the fridge a bit too soon so I could get the light & sitting while I cleaned up. ThatBookishGal What would you recommend? I've read all of Austen's actual works and I loved them. I read pride and prejudice and zombies (and the sequels) and loved those. I read Elligible and loved it. I'm just so scared of reading those continuations...I don't want it to shatter my Austen bubble! 7y

Eyelit I understand the hesitancy @ThatBookishGal - there are some clunkers out there. I'd say start off with the books with essays/short stories and go from there. I started with a p&p dedicated book and branched off after that. You can check out my austentatious shelf on goodreads to see how I've rated the ones I've read. I did like An Assembly... series as it was from Darcy's pov (although the middle book kinda dragged)
