📖 I‘m a hardcover lover!
📖 More fiction to help me deal with reality but I still like nonfiction
📖Meet the author, in that way I can understand better my fave character
📖I will continue buying books because I‘m a collector (not a book hoarder😜) but that‘s why I keep my fav books, to re-read them someday, when? 🤷🏽‍♀️
📖Both
📖More fantasy but I like some romance sometimes
📖Enemies to lovers
📖Both but I like to buy books
Thanks @Bklover

TheLibrarian Love your answer for the re-reading/buying. My response would pretty much be exactly the same! 3y
Gissy @TheLibrarian In terms of libraries, they are beautiful to admire and see the collections they have plus some of them are beautiful but I want to have my own books☺️
Not allow to buy new books? Never is going to happen to me😜
Re-read? Well, so many books, so little time.
I will live surrounded by books the rest of my life. I bet you think the same🤗

This one is so hard! Obviously I can't live without apples or sunflowers! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday... & October & November are my favorite months! But this means you want me to never have apple cider, bonfires, or hayrides ever again?! Or see adorably fat little pumpkins everywhere?? I don't think I can do it! 😂

I usually have no trouble deciding what my next book should but I can‘t seem to make up my mind. Which would you recommend?

SassyBookworm Ohh The Huntress just checked out for me on my Libby app and I can‘t wait to dive into it...But I‘m also super interested in Anastasia! You have a great list but those would be my top two! 6y
phatsallylee Of the options, I've only read 7 1/2 deaths of evelyn hardcastle. I really enjoyed the twists and turns of this mystery. 6y

Help, I need help! 😁

The bottom 4 books are definites (I think!) for next weekend‘s reading retreat, but I‘m not sure 4 is enough...

I‘ve picked out another 6 possibilities... which one or two of the top 6 on the pile would you take?

eraderneely I didn‘t love The Immortalists, but I‘m really interested in The Essex Serpent myself. So that‘s what I‘d choose! 6y
eraderneely On another note, I can‘t imagine needing 8 books for the weekend! I‘m bringing 2-3!!! 6y
LeahBergen The Essex Serpent. I‘ve had it on my own TBR shelf for ages! 6y
See All 22 Comments
Leniverse The Elegance of the Hedgehog is supposed to be excellent. I would bring that. In fact, if you do, I might have a quick look at it! 😁 (And I recently read A Gentleman in Moscow and it was SO EXCELLENT. 😃) 6y
rockpools I‘d vote The Essex Serpent too! If you don‘t get to reading it (which I‘m sure you will) you can just admire the cover 😍! 6y
scripturient I‘d go for the Essex Serpent as well. 😊 I‘ve been making decisions and revising them all week. I now think I‘ll only take two books from here as I‘ll probably end up buying two or three in Chester anyways (Ali Smith‘s Spring and the new Michelle Paver book at least 😁). 6y
scripturient The Elegance of the Hedgehog is a super lovely book though so if you want something heart-warming, pick that one. 😊 6y
sprainedbrain Night Road is good! I have Essex Serpent but haven‘t read it yet. 6y
JenReadsAlot The Immortalists! 6y
Mitch Is something different from your definite pile.... maybe variety is the way to go! 6y
julesG I can't recommend any of these since I haven't read them. I like the Hedgehog title though. 😉 6y
Oryx I really liked The Immortalists. 6y
Oryx I have that exact same Persephone on my bedside table right now! I've only read a bit so far. 6y
squirrelbrain @oryx - when I bought the Persephone I was told it wasn‘t an easy read, as one can imagine with the subject matter, so I‘m going to dip in and out of it I think, between other books.... 6y
squirrelbrain Thanks @eraderneely @LeahBergen @Leniverse @RachelO @scripturient @sprainedbrain @JenReadsAlot @Cathythoughts @Mitch @julesG @Soubhiville @oryx; it looks like the Hedgehog is coming on the retreat for definite, and then either The Immortalists or The Essex Serpent....! But still time to change my mind 12 times before then...., 🤣 6y
Cathythoughts Yes !! Love The Hedgehog ♥️ 6y
julesG At least 12 times. 😁 6y
jhod I might buddy read hedgehog with you as it's on my kindle! 6y

Do I choose the record with no picture or the one with the weird parentheses at the end of the title? This is important. Obviously. 😆

JaclynW I totally understand your dilemma. 6y
j.rye I say the one with the (). It‘s the one with the synopsis so that must mean something, right? 6y
monalyisha @j.rye That‘s pretty sound reasoning. 👌🏻 6y

Lcsmcat I wish we could get the data base cleaned up! I hate having to choose which of multiple entries for the same book to use. Maybe if there was a button to mark « duplicate entry » when multiples show up? 6y
monalyisha @Lcsmcat That would be nice. I try not to be too demanding, if I can help it. Sometimes I can help it. Sometimes I can‘t. 😆 But constructive criticism is helpful, too! I think the Litsy team is doing a pretty stellar job. 🙏🏻 I‘m practicing patience & faith. 6y
Lcsmcat @monalyisha I‘m not complaining about the job they do, at all. I think having all our eyes looking for duplicates would make it more feasible. (edited) 6y
Coleen I‘m glad I‘m not the only one who struggles with this. 🤷‍♀️ 6y
monalyisha @Lcsmcat I‘m totally with you. On all counts. 🙌🏻 My eyes are ready! 👁👁 (edited) 6y
TimSpalding It‘s dreadful. Coming from LibraryThing, which has detailed cataloging and a whole woke-edition system, the system here makes me itch. It‘s something I plan to work on; we just need to upgrade the servers to use a version of our software that supports cover uploading and changing. 6y

I have a lot of ebooks and tend to not read them because my phone is smol and weak of battery. I want an ereader but I‘m afraid to commit. What do you like or dislike about either?

TrishB I haven‘t ever used a Nook. But have recently got a new Kindle paperwhite which I love 💕 and the 99p offers are awesome.... 6y
dariazeoli I have both and I prefer Kindle. Easier to borrow from the library, and I fear B&N will kill Nook when and if they go under. 6y
Notafraidofwords Kindle all the way. 6y
See All 32 Comments
KathyWheeler I have both as well. I like the Kindle Paperwhite better than the Nook Glowlight. The Kindle is better designed and lighter. I also agree with @dariazeoli in that I‘m afraid B & N will scrap the Nook. 6y
HeatherBookNerd I have a Paperwhite and I love it. 6y
Lola I have both (and multiple versions of each-yes, I have a bit of an e-reader problem 😛) and prefer my Kindles by a long shot. Love the Oasis but the Voyage is great (and less pricey). 6y
Lola If you already have a lot of ebooks, you need to consider their format. If they‘re Kindle, bought from Amazon, you‘ll need a Kindle. If they are ePub, you‘ll need to go with Nook (or Kobo). 6y
Tomigirl44 I‘ve had 2 different Kindles (2nd gen and an inexpensive Fire) and they‘re great. As mentioned above, I‘m afraid the Nook will be obsolete when B&N is gone. And there are a lot more deals on Kjndle books than for other platforms. 6y
Crewgurl I like the kindle paper white 6y
TheSpineView I'm in love with my Kindle Paperwhite. ❤ Has good battery life, easy to navigate with, can read outside. Best part is all the ebook deals. 6y
TheBookAddict I‘ve never owned a Nook, but I do own an inexpensive 2nd gen. fire tablet. I‘m sure you can download the Nook app onto it as well. 6y
DebReads4fun I have been a Kindle fan for years. I am currently reading on an Oasis, my favorite! 6y
benchley1 Tablet. I use mySamsung, but i don't care for proprietary electronics 6y
Jemgirl2014 Kindle. 6y
Purrsistently @benchley1 yeah I used to have a cheap little samsung tablet that was great❤️but I dont anymore and I really just want something w/o data to store all my books and stay charged for a week- everything that uses data (the perks of a tablet for me) I just do on my phone. I did love my little tablet though! 6y
TheBookAddict You‘re welcome. The fire 7 tablet that I have stays charged up for about a week if I keep it offline. Which is what I usually do, since I only use it for my book stuff. I only connect it to my WiFi to download books; be it on hoopla, cloud library, kindle or audible. 6y
JoScho I didn‘t read all the comments but I am going to say hands down a Kindle is the best e-reader on the market. 6y
Dragon I‘m a fairly new Kindle Paperwhite user and I‘m really enjoying it. I took it on a trip and it was so handy and lightweight. I‘m a bit too fond of the Kindle Daily Deals. 6y
Karkar I like my Nook mainly because it is not an Amazon product. 6y
Linear I have to say nook because i started with nook and so i have 98 nook books and only 1 kindle book. The saddest story of my life ( dramaticlly speaking) was the day i oeft my nook simple touch on a airplane. To stop my 3 month long cry fest over its loss, my husband got me a tablet. I can do both nook and kindle but.. im alresdy so invested in nook 6y
Linear Wait, everyone is expecting B and N to go under?! But i met my husband there T_T. Also, what would honestly happen to my nook books... do kindles not work with epub versions of overdrive or even overdrive? 6y
blondie I've had both and I guess I prefer my kindle. I've just had an easier time finding books I want to read on it. 6y
KathyWheeler @Linear There‘s a lot of doom and gloom articles out there about B & N. I hope they manage to save themselves as otherwise my only option here is BAM. Here‘s one of those articles: https://money.cnn.com/2018/01/17/news/companies/save-barnes--noble/index.html 6y
Ilirwen I have a Kindle and a Cybook and love both. If you had a better phone you might be able to read both formats on that. 6y
Purrsistently @Ilirwen ooooh what is a cybook? *takes to google* 6y
Purrsistently @KathyWheeler yeah, I love indie stores but I don‘t hate b&n. 6y
Purrsistently @Linear that is awesome (that you met there) I don‘t want them to fold either!!! 6y
Ilirwen @Purrsistently A Cybook is a little more difficult to use for library books so I use Bluefire on my phone for that but free legal downloads from sites like Gutenberg and Smashwords work great. Just like on a Kindle. You just click and drag the book files when the Cybook is connected to a computer. 6y
Linear @KathyWheeler i was depressed when hastings went under. Now BN might? What am I going to do. I rarely find BAM 6y
KathyWheeler @Linear I really hope they can pull things around. 6y
