I heard good things about this book so I was excited for the humor of it, but I feel like I was way too old to be reading it. Many of the tips were obvious to me or not useful...I‘m in a different stage of life. I found some humor in the beginning, but by the middle and end I found myself skimming. HOWEVER!! I feel this would‘ve been a really useful/interesting/informative/enjoyable book if I had read this around the time I was in college!

#songsofsummer #schoolsout @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620 This prompt made me think of graduating - and all the panic that comes with it! These are some books to help you deal with that time when school‘s out for good.

And last, Austin Powers yells Yeah Baby! for reading as we have section 6 of the Birth and Beyond Reading Challenge. Also known as everything else.

I look forward to having littens join in. Sign ups will begin in June. As always, have any questions, just ask.

cobwebmoth You will give suggestions for the categories I get stuck on, right?😄 7mo
LibrarianRyan @cobwebmoth always. 👍🏻😁 7mo

LibrarianRyan @Sarahreadstoomuch yeahhhh. Official sign ups will go up June 1. 7mo
Shakespearience 😅 I don‘t understand what half of these categories mean or is it kind of however you interpret it to mean? 7mo
LibrarianRyan @Shakespearience it really is all in how you interpret it. May be you read a sneaky pie brown (cat mystery) or maybe you read a book in a day because you don‘t want to disturb the cat napping in your lap. Freezer book is a Friends reference. Anytime Joey reads a book that scares or upsets him he puts it in the freezer (It and Little Women). If you can explain the interpretation that is all that matters. 7mo
Sarahreadstoomuch @LibrarianRyan where do I sign up? Did I miss it? 6mo
LibrarianRyan @Sarahreadstoomuch I need to get it up. I‘m running behind. 🏃‍♀️ 6mo
Sarahreadstoomuch @LibrarianRyan oh! I‘m sorry! Didn‘t mean to be *that* person 🥴 6mo
LibrarianRyan @Sarahreadstoomuch trust me no offense. Big event at work we didn‘t know about because the various floors don‘t talk to each other only to each other‘s bosses and mine has been gone for the last 4 days. 6mo
LibrarianRyan @Sarahreadstoomuch Just wanted to let you know I just posted it.

Sarahreadstoomuch @LibrarianRyan thank you! And thanks for hosting- I‘ve been telling my colleagues about it because I think it‘s such a fun idea! 6mo
LibrarianRyan @Sarahreadstoomuch 😁 Its my way to get in on the fun. I miss being a public librarian and doing programing and all the fun stuff, so I do it here. 6mo
Sarahreadstoomuch @LibrarianRyan see, I run most of the programming and such in my library, so I can‘t really participate. So I love things like this 😊 6mo

This is the worst! I‘m such an organizer and planner that when we host something I need to know if you will be there or not. When you can‘t sleep...read! I‘m finding this book humorous so far, but also a little boring. If I was fresh out of high school or college it would be a lot more applicable to me, but there aren‘t really any new “tips” so far once you‘ve lived in the world a bit...at least it is entertaining!

I only got one book for Christmas this year (since I told my parents to not get me anything it was more than expected). I am blessed to have amazingly generous family and have a bit of “extra” money. I‘m torn as to being an adult and putting all of it toward a bill/saving it or spending whatever I want on books/bookish things and then whatever is left bill/save. #bookloverproblems

How to be a Bookworm and Adult at the same time. Lol. This way, I get my chores done and my book finished today! Lol. #reading #bookworm #adulting #chores P.S. ignore my amateur bullet journaling skills. Lol.

Now that I no longer have access to a real paper and ink book, I find an ocean of desire to hold a book in my hands, to hold a gateway into another world, another universe, another life. However here I sit staring at my laptop with an entire world at my fingertips and all I want is a book to hold and love.

This note in a library book cracked me up. I won't lose your spot, Kane! :)

I only feel kinda bad I put a hold on this which is probably forced Kane to turn this book early. But I missed an Modern Mrs. Darcy Kindle sale the other week and this intrigued me. This discussion questions are hilarious and I'm thinking what a fun book this would be to go through as a book club. Unconventional, maybe, but I'm guessing it would make for good discussion.

gthorton My husband saw it sitting on the table and said, "You know what is the first step in being an adult is? Not needing a book telling you how to be an adult." ? 3y

Because at some point I should probably learn more about #adulting - bought my house over a decade ago. Still not proficient at life. 😅

A weird pick, perhaps, but this book was definitely #inspirational for me. I moved out of my parents house this summer and it is the first time I've ever lived on my own. I was so scared, but Kelly's easy humor made even the scariest thing approachable. She made me brave enough to do big, adult things. #photoadaynov16

As a 39 year old self described mostly competent adult I can safely say that had this book existed when I was in my early 20s, it would not have taken me 39 years to become a competent adult. This book is funny, smart, comprehensive, and practical. There isn't a topic that goes untouched. If there is a person in your life who is struggling, at any age, with adulting, give them this book. And make them read it.

post image

I almost gave this a "so-so" but this brought me too much enjoyment for that. I briefly debated just because I felt some of the sections dragged, but that was mostly on me since I'm married and didn't need the dating or hooking up advice. However, her humor is fantastic and I found many other sections informative, such as cooking, cleaning, dealing with family, etc. I missed the memo on many life tasks and Kelly graciously walked me through them.
