I purchased The Saints of Swallow Hill, The Wedding People and The River is Waiting.

My thrift store shopping was fruitful ~ paper, stamps, ink, and a book for my personal collection (I often refer to my work days as terrible, horrible, no good, very bad days!) When my son stopped at the hardware, I perused the postcard selection. #LitsyLove 💌
A favorite in our family, and an apt metaphor for a grownup‘s terrible day

I do believe this is one of the best books ever written. Some days are just like that. And I did not wake up with gum in my hair- so that‘s a bonus.
This sweet RF book will be sure to be a favorite for a long time. Follow Alexander as he has a far from ordinary day that helps us all relate to those horrible, no good days.

In this classic RF story, a young boy has a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. If it could go wrong, it did! He believes that the solution to all of his problems is to move to Australia. A great award-winning (ALA Notable Children's Book, Reading Rainbow Book, Georgia Children's Picture Storybook Award, Indie's Choice Book Award)book that children, as well as adults, can relate to.
So, I‘ve had the most Alexander-y of Alexander days, BUT...then the mail came and it brought me a letter from my dearest friend and pen pal. I posted a letter to you earlier today, but I‘ll reply directly to this one, too. 😘
How I‘ve been feeling all day due to ALL my 2300+ podcast episodes being undownloaded from my iTunes on my laptop today. Short story I‘ve had to unsubscribe and then resubscribe to numerous shows and redownloaded probably at least 1000 podcast episodes, not all of which are done at the moment. And to boot a number of them still hv the effing files on my laptop.... 🤬🤯😡😤
This is one of my favorite books in the entire world. And today, in honor of my own terrible, horrible no good very bad day I am looking at property in Australia, eating popcorn, drinking diet Dr Pepper and watching Pride and Prejudice. All of them. Maybe Emma too. Tomorrow is a new day.

My tech called out today, computer broke, registers kept going down (you would think CVS could buy decent equipment). And one of my customers knew it was a terrible day and came back through and brought me a happy! Sometimes someone shows you how great you can be!!!

The idea here is to post a week's worth of books that have affected us, made us into the readers, and people, that we are today. No additional comments necessary.
This was the first book that really spoke to me as a child. It was so comforting to know that other people had bad days ❤️

Today was one of those days. I got 4 hours of sleep and because of the snow I basically stayed at home. I watched an American Experience episode on Joseph McCarthy at least 3 times before deleting it. The early part of the evening was crap. May finally get some reading before I go to bed.
I‘ve been in bed since 9:30 am trying to decide if I have the flu or something more serious, steadfastly refusing to go to urgent care or the ER on Christmas Eve. I haven‘t been able to read at all. On the bright side, I did receive this adorable card from @mellissimo which makes me smile. Thank you, Melanie, for brightening my otherwise miserable day! #litsylove
ETA: thank you all for your concern. I‘m sure I‘ll be ok by Thursday.
Moxie‘s having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. She hasn‘t felt like eating since yesterday. We took her to the vet, and are monitoring her, and feeding her Critical Care & pain meds. The vet said she‘s not in stasis “yet” but I‘m really nervous. 😥💖 Bunnies have a lot of tuff ‘tude but they‘re actually big, sensitive softies. Please send us your most earnest, magical, & effective healing vibes.
Today is cancelled.
DACA is on the line at the supreme court. It's the last day of our open enrollment. And to top it off the school decided to not take my kid's picture for retakes even though he was clearly dressed for it and I messaged the teacher ahead of time. 😭 I really hope I see some reading time at the end of this dumpster fire day. 🗑🔥
Today is an Alexander day. Even Goodreads “has too many visitors“. I don't want to vote for their awards - I need to update an audiobook I just finished (that sucked). *sigh* 😭
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is a children‘s RF book about a boy named Alexander and how a day he has goes from bad to worse. I would highly recommend it for children and how it can be relatable to anyone that just seems to have a bad day.

This was also awesome—on Nemours network
Alexander and the Terrible , Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst, 1972. Picturebook Black and white are used in illustrations. I think this is a great choice in the attempts to set the mood of the story. Because Alexander is not having a great day, black and white represents a gloom full and dreary day. The author reiterated after every one of Alexander‘s encounter the fact that he was having a terrible horrible no good very bad day
This children‘s book, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day written by Judith Viorst and illustrated by Ray Cruz, is a very cute children‘s story about a boy named Alexander who goes through a lot of complications through his day and wishes he lived in Australia so that these mishaps wouldn‘t happen. The picture book leads to a very cute ending. #ucflae3414f19
I know I‘m a day late, but...

A childhood favorite, I loved sharing this one with my kids. Always gives them a laugh when they have had a bad day. “ My mom says some days are like that. Even in Australia . #bbrc #picturebooksatoz #a @LibrarianRyan
Not only did I leave my notecards at home (again) when I planned to catchup on #jb letters, but I walked into Starbucks and fell right on my ass. Sure, they have a giant yellow Wet Floor sign to the right of the door, but I didn‘t see it en route to my caffeine. When I told the barista they should mop she blamed the weather. Ok, maybe another doormat?
My pride is hurt, but I‘m sitting here anyway. With a Kindle whose battery is dead. #doover 😳
what‘s the solution for a day that involves chewing gum stuck in your hair, lima beans no dessert being the third best friend and having to watch people kiss on tv. and maybe moving to australia.
“There were lima beans for dinner and I hate lima beans.”
Children will probably find humor in this book!
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is a realistic fiction book written by Judith Viorist and illustrated by Ray Cruz. This story is relatable to children because they often get mad over little things and get frustrated. Every example in the book is something a child can understand.
We all have those days - things just do not go your way!
When it rains, it pours, and that is exactly what happens to poor Alexander in this book. From his mom forgetting to pack him dessert with his lunch to the shoe store not having the shoes he wants to having to wear his railroad pajamas to bed... it‘s a mess!
Some days are just like that. Even in Australia.
Awesome book for children, and I love the black and white illustrations.
Alexander‘s having a pretty crap day. One thing after another goes wrong. His mother says some days are just like that and if that isn‘t the truest statement, I don‘t know what is. I love the simple illustrations and the message that sometimes life doesn‘t go right. It‘s okay. We just try again tomorrow. 2/1001 #1001ChildrensBooks
Today was probably the worst day at this job I have ever had! So bad I had to report a co-worker to HR for hostility. I know it was the right thing to do but now I don‘t know what will happen and that‘s worry-some. Will it make the other co-workers upset, is this going to create more drama 😔But this terrible treatment has to stop. Why do I have to work...I just wanna stay home and read & be anti-social.

How I‘m feeling today
Rough day at work today. This could not be more true! ❤️📚
#SeptemberDanes Poor Alexander!!! He's having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day ( #BeenThereDoneThat #FeelYourPain) he'd much rather be #SleepingMyDayAway (#PreachAlexander) I too, would like to stay under the covers today but #AdultingCalls #TGIF 🙌🏼 This book has been a family favorite for decades!!!

Today has been a very bad day today someone stole my wallet so now I have to get all my cards again I wouldn‘t care about that but the only thing I do care that‘s in my wallet is my passport which in turn has all my information.

What a week it was. I felt like moving to Australia the entire time. Glad it's finally the weekend.
1. None! Just sleeping in and enjoying the extra day off. Work has been stressing the crap out of me, so I'm very relieved for this break.
2. ⬆️
3. I dig Portland.
4. My favorite sloth fact: sometimes instead of the branch, they grab their own paw and fall to their death. Not a very happy fact, but so ridiculous it makes me laugh.

Oh @jenniferw88, it's all going wrong! The last item for your package is lost in the post and when I went to get something to replace it this afternoon I LOST MY PURSE! Debit card, credit card, driving licence etc. etc. I'll try to post your parcel tomorrow but I hope you'll forgive me if it doesn't arrive exactly on time 😨😱😭 #conandoyleswap

We don‘t always speak in book, but sometimes our toddler‘s current favorite explains it best.
I‘m sorry hubby‘s having a bad day at work, but this still made me smile just a bit remembering us all reading it together last night.
Ugh. Welcome to my morning. “I think I‘ll move to Australia”
Well the tagged book represents my feelings about today. A crummy day, probably mostly my own fault, but nevertheless. And here is a photo of one of my favorite bookish items, my beleaguered LightWedge reading light, best book light I‘ve ever had, and they don‘t make them anymore. Anybody else ever have one of these? You can see mine‘s already had a bit of surgery, and now I think it‘s finally given up the ghost. Waaa.
Ok, so the day wasn't as bad as all that, but I'm ready for March to be over. Big project at work w/strict deadline & those above my pay grade keep changing the script for the instructional video I'm supposed to produce. Worked more overtime than I wanted & came home to this. Not sure what I was supposed to be receiving... big sigh.
