Thanks for the tag @StaceGhost 😺
I spent the morning shopping at a Walmart that doesn't understand Louisiana summers.
Now, however, I'm home, comfortable, watching Doctor Who and working on the #SummerCardSwap
@Gissy @wanderinglynn @AprilMae What were y'all up to today 🌼

For May, we read about teenage Obi-Wan. I enjoyed a hormonal Kenobi. How did y'all like it?
For June, we have adult Obi-Wan who has recently been exiled on Tatooine. I'm looking forward to this one.
As always, if anyone wants to be added or removed, just let me know. And May the Force Be With You Always 🚀 #StarWarsBuddyRead
For May I read 6 books. My favorites were The Long Walk, The Unworthy, and The Resurrectionist 🧡
I loved this book. James goes to Edinburgh to study to become a doctor. There, he gets into enough financial trouble that he starts body snatching with Aneurin and his gang for the surgeon he's studying for. And then they run into Burke and Hare 🖤

This is one of my favorite of King's books. I can't wait to see the movie this September.
Set in a dystopian America, 100 boys are chosen for the long walk, where they walk until only one is left. If they stop, if they try to leave, if they are too injured to continue, they are shot dead. Ray has signed up to be in the walk. How far will he get? It's so bleak but so engaging 🖤

So Sarah is back. She is now married to Bob, and they have a daughter. Things were going well until Bob cheated, and her first husband's guilt was questioned. Now, all hell is about to break loose again.

This was a fun read. Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon aren't really getting along. So when Obi-Wan finds Orla Jareni's note about a mysterious planet in the Jedi archives, he wants to go explore it. Qui-Gon agrees but then doesn't show up to leave, so Obi-Wan breaks the rules & goes on his own. There, he finds a bunch of kids struggling to survive on their own.
Loved Zae-Brii the nonbinary shapeshifter 🩵

I love this book, but I forgot how bleak it is. Andrew, a British serial killer, fakes his own death and ends up in New Orleans, where he meets Jay, another serial killer. Together, they team up to find their next victim 🖤
Warnings: lots of them, and for those who have read Brite's books, then you mostly know what you're in for.

I loved this weird dystopian horror novel. The narrator is a member of the Sacred Sisterhood convent a group that believes in undergoing pain and suffering for their God. The narrator is obsessed with writing down her story in ink, blood, whatever she can find. She also believes in going along with the Sisterhood until she meets Lucia, the newest member. Then things get more interesting 🖤
Warnings: for almost anything you can think of.
In April, we returned to the beginning of the Empire. I really enjoyed it. What did y'all think?
Now, for May, we meet up with Obi-Wan while he is still a padawan to Qui-Gon. This should be entertaining.
As always, if anyone wants to be added or removed, just let me know. And May the Force Be With You Always 🚀

I read five books in April. My favorites were The Buffalo Hunter Hunter and Go Luck Yourself.
Great idea, but poorly executed. Christine's husband has recently died, so she & her son decide to celebrate Christmas in the cabin that her husband had rented before he died. When they get there, things go bad in so many ways.
Warnings for a brutal pet death & for an ambiguous ending. Numerous parts of this book don't add up 🤷🏼♀️

Palpatine has just started his reign, and the Jedi have been exterminated as traitors. Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and Saw Gerrera are trying to handle the fall out in their own ways. This is the beginning before the rebellion officially forms. It's also the beginning of a trilogy, and I can't wait for the next two 💙

Here are my picks for May's #BookSpin and #ReadOrDonate 📚
@TheAromaofBooks @julieclair
This was a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read for me. It was amazing. The audiobook was so well done. It's not the easiest read, though.
This is an American Indian revenge story. It's raw, watch the trigger warnings, and is very visceral. It's told through diary entries & voice recordings. A failing academic Etsy receives her great great grandfather's diary detailing his past with the Blackfoot vampire Good Stab.
#Pantone2025 #moonbeam @Lauredhel
I loved this book. It's the sequel to The Nightmare Before Kissmas, which was also fantastic.
Kris (the younger prince of Christmas) played a nasty but funny joke on Lochlann (the prince of St. Patrick's Day) and is then sent there to apologize. And they fall for each other 💚🌈💚
This book was just okay mostly because even for horror, some of the story was a bit much.
Mina, a child psychologist, is contacted by Sam, a paranormal investigator, to help with his investigation of Alice, a girl who is rumored to be possessed. The investigation soon starts to take a more siniter turn.

Here is the schedule for the rest of the year for #StarWarsBuddyRead
May Padawan by Kirsten White, June Legends Kenobi by John Jackson Miller, July Tempest Breaker by Cavan Scott, August Into The Light by Claudia Gray, Sept. A Valiant Vow by Justina Ireland, Oct. Trials of the Jedi by Charles Soule, Nov. The Acolyte Wayseeker by Justina Ireland & Dec. Master of Evil by Adam Christopher 🚀
So this is what this year has come to, a pessimistic fortune cookie 🥠 🤦🏼♀️🥠
Here are my picks for #ReadYourKindle
Hopefully, this month, I'll actually get to some of them 🤦🏼♀️
@CBee
My favorite book for March was The Lost Bookshop, but moving on to the 2nd bracket will be The Shining 🖤
#BookBracket2025 @Catsandbooks
It's late but here is my March wrap-up. I read eight books. My favorites were Scythe and Sparrow, The Lost Bookshop and The Ice Dragon 🐉
I loved this book. It's duel timelines with Opaline, Martha, and Henry whose lives intersect around a magical bookstore 💚

This was a good but fairly typical thriller right up until the twist ending ❤️
Sarah is a high-powered lawyer with a good marriage until her husband, Adam who is accused of murdering his mistress. And she decides to defend him.
#Pantone2025 #antiquewhite @Lauredhel
This book had a cool dystopian premise, but the characters were really unlikable.
In a world that is quickly drowning sisters Agnes, Irene and Isla are estranged and forced to come together after their crappy father dies.
I really enjoyed this book despite the fact that keeping up with all the storylines could be difficult.
The entire Jedi council decide to go to Kwenn, a planet that is soon to be decommissioned to see what they are missing and reconnect with the people there. The mission gets more difficult when pirates show up.
I loved Yaddle. She really shines in this one 💚

This was an entertaining ghost story set in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (my state). Sissy is a tarot card reader who can tell the future. Thanks to her nephew, she ends up mixed up with ghosts at the Red Hotel. It was recently reopened, and the ghosts are not happy.
The ending is nuts 🖤

This is the 3rd book in the Ruinous Love trilogy. It was fantastic. Warnings galore, so keep that in mind.
In this book, Rose, a circus performer, gets hurt trying to murder someone and gets help (lots of help) from the lonely, cute Doctor Fionn Kane. Sparks and blood fly 🧡

My apologies for the late posting and I'll post the new schedule soon.
In March, we went on an adventure with Master Windu. I'm still reading it. How did y'all like it?
Now, in April, we head back to the time of the Empire. It's my favorite time period.
Also, the 2nd season of Andor starts on Disney+ on the 22nd.
If anyone wants to be added or removed just let me know. And May the Force Be With You Always 🚀 #StarWarsBuddyRead
@Kshakal I mailed your #CBBC package today. I still have The Lost Bookshop, I'm not quite finished with it but I sent along Sprinkles and Sea Serpents 🐉

For February, we visited the Jedi Council in The Living Force. Lots of Jedi, one messed up planet. What did y'all think?
In March, Mace Windu gets his own book. I'm looking forward to it. I love Mace.

I read 7 books in February. My favorites were The Bright Sword, Fourth Wing, and Witchcraft For Wayward Girls.
I read both my #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin books, Hard Times and The Bright Sword. They were also my #ReadOrDonate books, both of which I'm keeping 😺
@TheAromaofBooks @julieclair
I feel like this book could be set in modern times
Thomas Gradgrind is raising his children to only care about facts. It doesn't go well. Tom is a thief, and Louisa marries the walking red flag Josiah Bouderby. The facade starts to crack after Louisa has an emotional affair and flees to her childhood home.

I loved this King Arthur retelling so much that I gave it five stars 🌟
The knight Collum goes to Camelot a few weeks after Arthur's death. The fate of the realm is in peril and Collum, Nimue, and the few knights of the round table that are left must find a new king and restore order to the land 👑
#Aardvark

#KeepOrDonate @julieclair Definitely keeping ❤️
I loved Fourth Wing. The hype is well founded. I really enjoyed Violet and Xaden, but I loved Tairn, Andarna, and Sgaeyl. Of course, the dragons are my favorites.
I loved the ending, and I can't wait to start reading Iron Flame 🐉
#WickedWords #ballroom @AsYouWish
I really enjoyed this despite the heartbreaking drama that is YA Star Wars.
Jedi Knight Reath and Padawan Azzazzo are trying to find the origins of the Nameless and how they are connected to the Blight. Also fallen Jedi Knight Azlin Rell is helping. Probably?

It's a really good, cozy mystery set in Dublin. The narrator was fantastic.
