I haven't made up my mind yet, but so far this book is not going over well. I just read 10 pages about a bird flying around the temples of Kolkata. #readersunite

This is a stack of TBR books, plus books I've pulled for photo prompts, and it grows daily. And this was the TINY TBR. Sigh. I #can'teven. #junebookbugs
Took a personal day from work to rest and go to a doctor's appointment, but the day has turned into weirdness on account that I live in Linden, New Jersey. If anyone has been watching the news, just know that I've been jittery all day and I just want everyone to be safe. Book mail from @RebeccaH has helped. Thanks!!!
EDIT: OFFER NOW ENDED. Will do again some day. 😊
I AM IN THE MOOD TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS! From now until 9pm EST tonight, if you leave a comment on this post with the titles three of your favorite books + a recent book you've loved, I will give you a recommendation (over the next several hours - please be patient. 😊) Annnnnnnnnd GO!
The spring/summer book accrual stacks. I may need an intervention. #Augustofpages #bookphotochallenge #stacks
Kaleidoscopic romp around the life and mysticism of Sri Ramakrishna. A book full of childlike joy and games, just like its central character. Time has no limit. Unity with the divine makes no sense. Enjoy it and just be. Namaste
This story is like a cauliflower - told in sections and nodes. Each is a vignette in the life of Sri Ramakrishna, a historical and important spiritual figure born in 1836 India. In this way, the author plays with the idea of legend/fact/history/mythology/truth and how indistinct they really are.
I struggled with this one. I like the varied narrative voices and the exploration of faith and the divine. But the book felt a little aimless and didn't hold my attention well. It was missing something.
